This place is aiiiiiiight. I feel like the prices are knocked up a bit just for the benefit of themselves so I don’t think it’s worth it. It’s pricey for a simple cup of che. I only stop by here when I’m doing laundry a couple stores down. Other than that, I hardly ever think about coming here. Although the che that they serve is o-k, I feel like they pack a whole bunch of ice on top to make it look full. So there isn’t much of the beans, just more of coconut milk and ice. Bleh. This place is o-k.

Came here to study, it was quiet and they have wifi. Got the vietnamese sandwich and it doesn’t taste authentic. Maybe because the place is run by Hispanic people? Don’t get the popcorn chicken, it’s very small portion and just chunks of deep fried chicken with a side of buffalo sauce. Beware that they close at random hours. Today they close at 5:30pm when Unilocal says 8pm.

I’ve been coming here for awhile now & the first couple of times were great. The manager(?), not sure if he was the manager or not, gave my little sister a free banh mi and a little charm. I thought they were really good with customer service but the last 3 times I’ve went, there was only one worker and she stood outside talking to someone when she knew that I was gonna order. I always order the smashed avocado when I go, but it’s just milk now. There’s barely any avocado in my drink. Isn’t that the whole point of having smashed avocado? For the avocado…

this review is for the Aroma location in a small plaza that advertises itself as Halal, but i’ve also been to the one located inside the milpitas supermarket foodcourt the workers are slow and seemed like they don’t know what was going on —almond mocha ice blended: good but it took WAY too long to get our order —#96 grilled pork sandwich $ 4: Listed as most popular sandwich at the milpitas location, it was pretty good with an interesting mayo sauce but the battard bread wasn’t flaky like i’d expect for a vietnamese baguette NOTE: Shocked they accept credit card!

I placed an order online to be picked up since I was already on the way. Got there before the expected pick up time only for the place to be closed. Lights off and doors locked. Pretty unprofessional leaving me pretty disappointed.

This place is a hidden gem! I was craving Sinh to Bo(avocado smoothie) and saw this place was close by on Unilocal.Their smoothie was excellent and they gave me the whipped cream on top I asked for when I ordered. I also got their chicken wings with the sauce on the side which was delicious! At such a great price too($ 4 for 7 pieces)! The wait was a bit long for the two items I ordered, but it was a great experience overall.

I decided to give it try based on all the good reviews and pictures. Some people said their drink menu is similar to bambu, and in fact, the pictures on Unilocal look exactly like bambu. They are deceiving!!! I was super disappointed once i got my mocha. It looked and tasted like hershey syrup with milk and overnight coffee. She didnt even turned on the expresso machine when i ordered. She went into the kitchen and here i go! My shitty coffee. I paid $ 3.50+tax for something that was even worse than the coffee from gas stations. Plus, it was toooooooo sweet! I would never come back even if all the coffee shops in the world ran out of business. I WOULDGIVENEGATIVESTARSIF UnilocalALLOWED.

I don’t usually write shitty reviews unless a business has totally pissed me off. I came here 4 times, count them 4! And all 4 times they were closed when their Unilocal hours said they were opened. Note to management, if you don’t have time update the hours on Unilocal, put up a piece of paper on your window explaining why you’re closed. I ended up going to a new banh mi place across the street next to kohl. Not coming back here! And what the fuck is «ten free one» on your check in offer??!

Came here to try to smashed avocado that everybody was raving about. I got it with no sugar and it was definitely delicious. Generous chunks of avocado layered in with tapioca pearls, Pan Dan jelly, coffee jelly. I haven’t tried BAMBU’s smashed avocado so I can’t compare but aromas smashed avocado stands on its own to me. I really like how the jelly and the bubbles are not sugary sweet as other places already making you able to taste avocado flavor without all the sugar. If they could let me personalize the fillings I would like it even more. Come stop in for refreshing drink on a summer day!

Service was not that great and product was bad. I went in here to meet with someone, and as I was greeting my friend, the cashier/order taker talks over us, asking us if we are ready to order… hmm, can’t she see we are busy? And the place was empty, so I don’t know why she was rushing us. I ordered a milk tea, strawberry flavor. It tasted weird: it had a sweet plastic taste, or something like that. Something else but tea, milk, or strawberry. I had a few sips and couldn’t drink anymore. I’m so disappointed. I suggested this place because I saw the 4 stars rating here in Unilocal, but the place(empty and with a fly flying around) and the drink I ordered(completely disgusting) were not deserving of 4 stars. I read that they changed owners, that might be it. Please, work on the quality of the food for the price you charge.

A vietnamese banh mi shop owned by mexicans? Just a little odd since the entire menu was vietnamese food. As soon as I came in, used the bathroom, someone left dookie in the unflushed toilet. That was already a bad sign. I don’t know man. It only got worse. I came here because I was craving banh min, in a rush, needed some food and happened to be in the area and this was the first place that popped up on my Unilocal search. Alright, 4 stars? It’s got to be decent. Nope. I am sorry but this was probably the worst banh mi I’ve ever had. The bbq pork was extremely dry and sweet, texture was almost like a jerky. The pickled vegetables weren’t even pickled, and worst of all there was no pâté, just mayo and it was close to $ 5 for one sandwich. Tasted like a regular ol sandwich, but worst than what you could probably make at home. I gave the avocado smash a try since Unilocalers were raving about that and was also disappointed by that. Yeah there were chunks of avocado, but the drink in its entirety tasted just like sugared milk with chewy pandan jellys and chunks of avocado i couldnt sip through the straw. Not coming back here again. I knew I should have ran out the door as soon as I saw that dookie.

I ordered a pork chop meal because the lady at the cashier described the meal to be very appetizing. Long story short, the pork didn’t taste right as I was eating it. I couldn’t describe the taste but something wasn’t right about it. Later the same day I began to feel an upset stomach and today my stomach is hurting so badly along with the very uncomfortable stool. My guts told me I ate old meat or perhaps that it was not stored properly. I don’t want to come here again and this is actually the second time I ordered sometime that was not right.

This place is never open. I’ve stopped by twice on a Tuesday and Thursday around 6pm after purchasing the groupon… both times it has been closed and deserted looking despite being listed as open on Unilocal

Was in the area and decided to give this place a try after reading some Unilocal friends’ reviews, didn’t think much would change in the 2 – 3 years since their reviews. They MUST’VE changed owners again or something because the experience I had was nothing near their 4 – 5 star reviews. **REVIEWSOLEYONTHEIRBANHMI** TL;DR — Horrible excuse for a Vietnamese banh mi. It’s just a bready dry meat sandwich. DONOT call that a banh mi. My ancestors are cursing me from the heavens, the motherland probably just banished me, and wanted treason posters of me are being posted in Little Saigon as we speak. I regret everything. I was very skeptical walking in because it smelled like Indian food and curries and their menu was mostly espressos and teas. They do have Indian food here, but that was not what I came for. Milk tea selections were small(just go next door to TapEx), and the Vietnamese che and banh mi were on a separate menu. Also, all the people working there were speaking Spanish, furthering more of my confusion. But I still had hope! I believe in my Unilocal friends! Despite everyone’s recommendations for the banh mi thit nuong(grilled pork), I wanted the banh mi thit nguoi(Vietnamese salami) — however, they didn’t have any for the day, so I went with what everyone raved about, the grilled pork. Expectations were still good until I came home and opened my sandwich. I WASHORRIFIED. There were barely any pickled carrots and daikon, there was a sad 8 pieces. They weren’t in nice shaved strips making them hard to eat in each bite. The majority of the vegetables were RAWRED onion. Banh mi usually use very little white onion or even no onions. Raw red onions provided a very very strong oniony taste. I had to floss and brush after to get the onion taste out of my mouth. And what is that bright orange sauce? First reaction — «ISTHATCHEESE??» I tasted it, I believe it was supposed to be their Viet mayo. My mom honestly thinks it’s dried nacho cheese. The taste was similar to mayo, but the aritificial bright orange color was very off putting. ALSO, after awhile this«mayo» dried up and solidified. WHAT? Mayo does NOT harden. Might as well go to the Lee’s Sandwiches across the street for mediocre banh mis.

They changed the owners or something, and although the menu is mostly the same, this place is baaaaaad. The popcorn chicken is not the asian kind, its just frozen chicken bites and they deep fry it. It was only 8 pieces. And they threw them straight into the styrofoam to-go container so the hot oil melted all the way through the container. The fish balls were just warmed up and drenched in rosemary or some other leafy seasoning. The sauce the they put in the bag had a partially open cap and the sauce got everywhere. The worst part was the Thai tea which was obviously old/straight from can and nasty. Undrinkable. DON’T GOHERE. Am never coming back. Waste of eleven bucks. Was seriously debating going to Tap-ex right after and throwing everything away. Hey, at least you can franchise the place for 35k! No royalties.(They have a large poster inside saying so)

Avocado Smash wow I finished that thing in a blink! Smash it as soon as you get it to get the ice loose. My son got pure Mango Smoothie, all I have to say is goodbye jambajuice, we’re comin’ here for fruit smoothies! Fish Ball is surprisingly good, fun to eat, soft squishy and light. Fried Eggroll are veggie, hot and fresh with a very Asian flavor. Tofu Banh Mi was okay. They are adding a Halal Indian menu TOMORROW darn it, guess I’ll give four stars for now since avocado smash is worth coming for, then I’ll come back and do a new review when I get to try their Naan!

Ehhh… everything else is okay, but the thing to get here is their SMASHEDAVOCADO drink! I really like it. It has avocado chunks, some jelly, and ice. It’s milky, sweet, and just really yummy! Great drink to cool off during the summer!

This place is sooooo interesting… Vietnamese served and cooked by an Indian family. I love the strange combination. The sandwiches here are tasty. Its a bit sad the restaurant is tucked away in nowhere land, but if you have a chance to come here I think you should. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but I think if you live in the neighborhood it’s nice to be able to stop by and pick something up here. I think i’d come back here and try some of the more unique menu items. Last time I was here though, they didn’t have them available.

I believe Aroma is now under new ownership and this calls for an updated review. The beau and I took our canine for a walk on a beautiful Saturday morning and decided to stop by Aroma on our way back. We sat outside and I asked the cashier if it was okay to that our dog was outside of their store and she made a «what-the-hell-OF-COURSE» face and I was so relieved :) We got the café sua da(Vietnamese coffee), bo dam(smashed avocado) and banh mi thit nuong(Vietnamese sandwich with BBQ pork). The only thing I had a problem with is the café sua da had way too much ice so I felt like it only took us 5 sips to finish. While we were enjoying our lunch, the owner(Mo) came out to greet us and ask questions about my baby Troy, a chocolate lab. I, then in turn, asked him if he was the owner here and he said yes. He’s planning on bringing different dishes to Aroma to attract different ethnicities and make this less of a Vietnamese-only population. So far, they have a Filipino dish and an Indian dish. Even with the new ownership, the menu is the same and so is the quality. We are making it a tradition to come here every Saturday. A bonus plus is that they are SUPERDOGFRIENDLY. I would give this place 6 stars if that was possible. I LOVE pet-friendly places.
