I asked for less ice on my green milk tea. I got my drink and it was fifty percent ice fifty percent milk tea.

Great service, specially from Jenny. Very knowledgeable staff. Taught us w great patience the diff between cheap and quality tea. Sampling available, of course the good stuff. Once you try it, you will never go back to tea bags. Highly recommend.

do not bother with service although sometimes they just know to leave you alone to purpose get the ice king’s tea, pretty light and refreshing on a hot summer day nothing else stands out more than that awkward rob schneider ad placement on the back of the menu. have a look. i’ll be here… i’ll wait… … . … . now that you are thoroughly amused… order your tea and enjoy the intentional avoidance after giving you your tea/snack because you won’t see the employees again until the bill

Ten Ren is one of those boba places where you would get a quick drink. I wouldn’t say this is the place where you would expect GREAT boba. I love their Green milk tea, but I find their boba size small. I do think that they get the flavors here quite on point. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for high quality boba.

Been to this location a couple of times. If you want the legit Chinese tea experience you go to the ten ren side with the loose leaf teas served in traditional teaware. If you are looking for the modern spin you go to the tea station side which has ample seating. The menu is expansive in food and drinks. My go to beverage is black tea 25% sweet with grass jelly. They serve it in huge heavy mugs that people normally drink beers in. The wings and spicy wontons are super delicious too. Oh and get the shaved ice with taro balls if you are looking for dessert.

Pros: It’s a pretty decent, better than the average place. I ordered the«Honey Green Milk Tea.» I didn’t read the Unilocal reviews about this place before I ordered my drink, but most people said that getting regular sugar tastes very sweet, but I still liked my drink though! Plus, the boba is chewy, sweet, and delicious. I would recommend this place to hang out with a group of friends or just to get boba in general. Usual drinks are just under $ 5 so it’s decent good-tasting boba. Cons: I don’t like how I could see everything at the cash register. There was a guy that didn’t even look like he worked there and I was surprised when he asked me if I was ready to order. There was barely a variety of choices(flavored milk tea) and most were just choices very similar to that of tapioca milk tea. I also don’t like that the to-go menus are pink on the front IMHO. Lastly, if you ask for more time to decide on what to order, don’t be expecting to get helped right away, even if you’re the only person in line.

This place is an event. And it is open late. A perfect place to go for dessert(shave ice with toppings for sure), after a big meal at one of the other restaurants. First, there are two sections and/or distinct rooms with totally different purposes. The large room is the tea house and eatery. It offers dozens if not hundereds of different drinks, from hot tea in a pot to iced milk teas, to exotic smoothies of tea and fruit and other tasty things. The menu also includes an extensive selection of shave ice, and other types of icy deserts dishes. And then there is the hot food. For a Chinese tea house this is the most elaborate food menu I have seen. They have snacks, lunch boxes, and full meals. But I would not suggest it as a dinner place. Come here for lunch or a snack. That seems to be its best use. Either before or after your meal or tea, pop over to the second section of the place, the Ten Ren Tea Store. Here they have a vast selection of teas, from everyday tea to the exotic and unbelievably expensive(some over $ 1,000 per LB). Make sure to get a tea sample when you enter. And speak with the Tea Master if you have any questions(like what the heck makes tea cost a grand a LB). And if you are really lucky, you may be invited to sit in on a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony. Ask. Insist. Unless you show interest in buying hundreds of dollars worth of tea they will not offer. but if you ask they will do it: it is part of their mandate to perform tea ceremonies. Whenever I go I always pick up a tea flower. It is a little round green ball of pressed tea flowers, but when you put it into hot water it opens in your cup like a blossom. Give yourself at least an hour here between the tea store and eatery. And if you are there with friends and stay for hours, the staff will not boot you out, even if there is a line to get in. This is a fun place.

We came here in a party of 8 around 9PM last night. Our waitress Summer was super friendly and helpful and had a great sense of humor. She came by often, asking if we wanted any hot water. I ordered a Matcha Green Tea w/Ice Cream. It wasn’t super sweet, since I asked for half sugar, so that was nice. However, my only complaint was that there were small chunks of ice inside of the ice cream, which made it hard to enjoy. Tip: Don’t order this if you are as sensitive to caffeine as I am. I finished by drink around 10:30 and I was up until at least 1:30, with a very active brain. Overall, very good service. Great for a late night/after dinner hangout with friends. The portions are pretty big, and they have the cutest and oddest utensils.

This place can get very busy. One thing I dislike about this place is the minimum spend if you sit down and eat/drink. They do have a decent amount of sitting area and the adjoining shop next door is well placed if you need to buy gifts for tea lovers. The drinks are good, not great. Like other reviewers have mentioned, you should ask for half sweet as normal is probably too sweet. Their drinks are on the pricier side but if you get a drink that uses actual tea leaves, it’s probably worth it. Their boba is not hard. Relatively soft and chewy. I like their almond milk tea with boba. It has a nice dark brown color to it. Probably because they don’t use as much milk and it brings out the tea flavor more. I would recommend this place and would come back here again. Service is dependent on the time of day you visit this establishment. If it’s busy, expect spotty service with terse conversations.

Drinks here are great. Food unfortunately is so-so. I’ve been here twice and I’ve ordered their won– ton noodles. The first time I tried it, it tasted okay. Nothing really special. Sam woos taste much better and it’s cheaper. Second time I came, I decided to give it a second try. This time around, the noodles tasted like nothing. Literally, it seemed as if they just boiling the noodles, threw in wontons, added some brown food coloring, and left out all the flavoring. Like hot brown water with egg noodles… Never again… Only reason they are even getting the 2 stars are for their drinks. They make all their drinks from fresh tea. I highly recommend that if you come here, just order a drink and leave.

I love ten ren tea! Their quality in tea is really good and I always come back. The only issue I have with this place, is that some people do NOT know how to park their cars. -.- ENJOY!

An order of Almond Milk Tea w/tapioca and a Peach Green Tea w/tapioca. How hard is that? First, they call the wrong number out and gave me a Honey Green Tea. But it wasn’t even mine? The worker took it from my hands. And gives it to the other person because it was hers. Then asked«did you drink out of it?». If you give a wrong drink to me, why would I drink it?! My boyfriend got his Almond Milk Tea. Then I get my Peach Green Tea and a dead bug was in it. And they dare tell me it was just tea leaf. Sorry but a bug and a tea leaf look DIFFERENT from one another. Then one of them said«it’s ok, it’s just tea leaf. But I’ll switch it for you IF you want me to.». If they had a brain. Isn’t it a given that I want another one? The worst part was. they took the drink out of my hands with attitude. This place is only getting one star because I can’t give them ZERO. Both of the drinks came out TOOSWEET. Not coming back. WORSTATTITUDEEVER

The drinks are SO sweet here. I think you should heed the advice of the waitress when she asks you if you want your drinks with«less ice» or «less sweet». GETBOTH! I did, and my drink was fine. However everyone else’s was SOSWEET. Like drinking liquid sugar. Although, I could taste the tea. It’s a nice studying place– you have to wait to be seated, so that’s different from the other Ten Ren’s I’ve been to.(They also have a self-order counter up in the front for to-go orders). Ordered the coffee milk tea– perfect combo of coffee + tea taste! Somewhat light compared to the other fruity sugar-laden drinks.

The parking here is a hot mess and their ordering line is weird and awkward. I do usually order the green milk tea or green tea here as well and use my boba dollars card. The pork stew rice is good and it comes with a tea egg! Their tea is pretty good, however the boba is inconsistant and can be atrocious, so I order with low expectations of that.(If you want good boba go to Half & Half SG up the street!) I also get the standard tea eggs here, the normal nothing to write about item. If you do try to get into the parking lot, you have to make a 3 – 5 point turn at the DEADEND in the back, so park in the SGV Square lot and walk or try to find the few spots in front on Valley.

I am hesitant to review boba because I am sort of a boba noob, but taking into consideration the boba, the location, the parking, the atmosphere, I can give this a shot! Boba milk tea: I got regular milk tea, half sugar: not bad! I have had better, but this place is acceptable. Especially for the price! Not super cheap, but I have paid way more for boba(granted, it was also better quality), so I was happy. Atmosphere: It was a little cold inside, but very clean and the service was quick! Parking: Parking sucks. Not much they can do about it but keep it in mind if you’re coming at a busy time! My friend from Taiwan says Ten Ren is the best and he proudly says«you can’t argue with him about boba» because he is from Taiwan, so that made me bump it up from 3 stars to 4 because I trust his judgment but can’t disregard that I have had better elsewhere.

Ten Ren is the first place I went to(many, many years ago) when I first started drinking boba-tea. I really like Ten Ren because they brew real tea here vs using the powder and give you an option of regular/half-lite/no sugar added to your drinks. This location in particular is pretty big– they have a spacious dining area and next door, they also sell their own packaged tea bags next door which is always convenient! Contrary to previous reviews by other Unilocalers… The service was fast and friendly when I went. However, I did not go at a busy time… maybe that’s why?

//LOCATION //Huge store connected to Tea Station(confusing, I know) //FOOD // + Passionfruit green tea with boba: Served in a huge refreshing glass. Get it half sweetened so its not cloyingly sweet. It is a quality drink with the fragrant tea taste. Tip: $ 4 minimum per person and 1 order minimum per person. At their ridiculously marked up prices though, this won’t be too hard to accomplish.

I am not a tea expert so it was a little intimidating trying to figure out which tea to get from the myriad of tea offerings at Ten Ren. Fortunately, communication was not a barrier and I was able to sample and select the perfect jasmine tea. They package your loose tea in a resealable green plastic package that fits about ½ lb. The shop sells prepackaged boxes of teas, tea flavored products, and cups and pots. Not to mention the large gold jars of loose teas(jasmine, oolong, black tea, imperial tea blends, etc) ranging from about $ 7/lb to over $ 100/lb. Ten Ren is located right next to Kee Wah bakery and on the weekend, street parking was not a problem. I’m glad that I got over my «tea buying» fears and plan on visiting them again very soon.
