This place is a bit pricier than the others I’ve been to, though the boba’s pretty much the same, and the service and attitudes of the staff are glum! I only come here if I’m in this plaza but I still like the Las Tunas and San Gabriel location! They also don’t get ready on time. I looked over at Tea Station in the same plaza, and they were prepping half an hour before opening at 11:30 a.m. Tapex was supposed to open at 11:00 a.m. and there was no one even in there at 11:05 a.m. =/

TapEx gets the job done when you are in need of a snack in the middle of the day. Wish we had one in W LA! Their crispy chicken has always been dependable. But I was slightly disappointed that the last time I got their chicken, it didn’t have pieces of fried basil in it. The ambiance of the store leaves a bit to be desired but who really cares — I usually grab my drink to-go anyway. Their basic drinks are always good(and necessary for cooling off in this heat!). I even ventured out from my usual drink selection to try their AVOCADO Slush this weekend. It was delicious! It’s made w/fresh avocado, but once it’s blended with condensed milk, you get a hint of avocado flavor in a smooth, creamy, yummy drink. I definitely recommend it!

I come here for two reasons and two reasons only. 1) I’m broke and this is cheap boba that doesn’t taste as horrific as Quickly’s. and… 2) I need to study. Place has a lot of tables and hardly anyone come here aside from old smokers who sit outside anyways. It’s quiet in the sense of no one talking but loud in atmosphere because they place lots of Asian music. But, it’s still worth coming. Get my work done every time. Lots of outlets for those of you needing to bring laptops to study. They also have booths now if you like booths more than chairs like I do. Drinks wise, I only order flavored green tea when I am here. A lot of people like their icee drinks but I’m not a fan of those super sweet treats. The workers here are very nice. There are couple of times I would come and only one or two people would order drinks in a large group and we would sit there for hours, but they don’t complain or say anything. My favorite place for cheap boba and studying. Just be warned that parking can become very bad in the SG square plaza where this TapX is located.

I stopped by here with some family after Dim Sum at New Capital. They’re plenty of tables, some guys playing cards, NBA playoff game was on the flat panel. I’m not a huge fan of Boba, but they have decent variety so I decided to try the Mango Yogurt Frost, which to be honest taste like a Pink Berry in drink form. It was a little pricey at just over $ 5 for the large, but it’s pretty big and really filling. I don’t live in the area, but next time I got to New Capital, I’ll probably swing by here and try something else on my way out.
