Lunch Special $ 5.99. Comes with soup or salad, steamed white rice or fried rice, egg roll, and your choice of main dish. Pretty darn cheap. I had their Red Curry, Yellow Curry, and Green Curry. All of them are good. The drinks are inconsistent though. Today, I had a passion fruit ice blended. It was a bit strange taste. I think the fruits(frozen) is old or something. Today was a bit strange as they were so eager to clean up. Kept taking dishes away even though we were still eating. So minus points on that. Another minus point is the parking. So hard to find a parking spots as it is in the complex of Trader Joe’s and PetCo(?). Again, price for the food is great. Good food. Otherwise mmmmm…

Twice have gotten take out from this spot. They deliver too, thank you Unilocal for putting this place on the radar! Easy to miss considering I’ve driven by it many times and really never noticed it. So here we go: Hits: Thai beef salad(larb) had excellent seasoning/dressing, better than most Pasadena spots. Chicken pad thai, Penang curry, garlic beef, shrimp spring rolls were huge and delicious Misses: chicken pad see ew(soggy soft noodles), shrimp fried rice was pretty average Overall, more hits than misses here. I’m officially adding Salathai to the better-than-most Thai distinction for Pasadena. And for East Pasadena we basically have this spot and President Thai to work with. Hoping to come back here for lunch specials and to update review accordingly.

Honestly. I hate to make bad reviews but the food here isn’t as great as it looks. Small portions for its price, doesn’t taste good. I was dehydrated afterwards(meaning it either had too much msg or food was made by packaged preserved food). I’ll only eat here if all other restaurant was closed and this was open. I would never come here again even if they have cheap deals for lunch special. Service was horrible. Waiter didn’t seem to be focused on their job and reluctant to bring anything for my sis and I. We were the only customer there. I’m surprised they didn’t go out of business.

Very nondescript little Thai restaurant inside a strip mall, but the food here is well above average. I’ve only been here once and was pleased with the fresh food prepared with the right amount of spices and reasonable prices. I got a stir fried noodle and noodle soup. In both dishes the noodles were prepared perfectly — not too al dente or soggy, and have a nicely spiced flavor. Will definitely add this restaurant to my rotation.

This is hands down the best Thai restaurant in town. I say this after dining in only twice! They really care to make an appetizing menu for their vegetarian patrons. The owners are super friendly and don’t seem to wear that«stressed out» face that you see on many restaurant owners faces, which kind of always breaks my heart a little. I really recommend the tofu pad see yoo, tofu pad thai, and papaya salad, but don’t be afraid to try something new because i’ve yet to be let down by taste/flavor of their dishes. Personally, I always ask for mild spice level. I am very pleased about this awesome Thai place. Their lunch specials are also very competitive.

Another gem of a restaurant, seats maybe forty, tucked into a strip mall, between TJ’s and a row of shops that ends with an Indian market, on Rosemead half a block below Huntington Dr. The menu offers a wide range of a la carte items, and a lunch special that was very good. Although we were there after«lunch time» and the place was almost empty, the food was fresh and the service most gracious. I’ve worked in places where the cooks are so focused on prepping for dinner, that a late-lunch patron may get warmed-over left-overs from the steamer cabinet, not the fresh hot lunch they ordered. Not at Sala Thai. Someone in that kitchen really loves cooking and feeding people. We’ll be back, for sure. There are so many dishes I want to taste!

Portions were small and service was slow(very difficult to get the attention of the 2 waiters working here and one of them barely knew English so it was difficult communicating with him). Food and Thai tea was good, but nothing special. Family of 7 and we ordered 7 dishes including soup and usually we have leftovers, but we didn’t at all this time(just to give an idea of how small the portions are). Would rather go elsewhere where the food tastes the same if not better and the portions are much bigger along with the same price.

Came here because this place have pretty good Thai vegetarian options. There is a whole page in the back of the menu for that so for those vegetarians it’s not just stir fry veggies :) Didn’t really know what to eat but our waiter suggested his favorites: the pork bbq skewers w sticky rice and the rice w bbq pork crispy pork and duck w gravy and oh man! He was spot on!!! Those dishes were excellent. Just a couple of things: service was a bit slow — we had a party of 6 and all but 2 of our dishes came out and almost finished before the last 2 came out . And the Thai tea was a bit too sweet for or taste

Very good Thai food with an extensive selection of vegetarian dishes. The dishes are a good size, they defiantly don’t skimp. They will even special make dishes for you that are not on the menu, which I though was so nice of them! I wanted the vegetarian curry fried rice but without pineapple. I told them I really liked their vegetarian fried rice and they were nice enough to offer to make the vegetarian fried rice and add curry. It came out delish! I order take out from here and they’re so quick! My favorite Thai restaurant in the SGV is President Thai, been going there since it was half the size and a hole in the wall. I would say this place is just as good.

This restaurant has been here for several years, and I’ve probably been here at least 7 times. The only time I really end up here is if I’m in the area, starving, in need of a decent meal, and don’t feel like waiting for a table since I know it won’t be busy at this place! Prices are a lot cheaper than most Thai restaurants in the area. Although they do offer lunch specials, I never order from the lunch special menu. I always choose to order my food ‘à la carte’ since the lunch portions just aren’t filling enough for me. I usually order the mint leaf chicken, larb appetizer, and/or the pad see ew. I’ve never been disappointed with what I’ve ordered here, and they will actually make the food extra spicy(if you request it).

Awesome Thai food !!! But service is okaaaayy or would’ve given 5’s… Best veggie larb Pad see yew is delicious Never disappointed when I eat here and love that it’s close to my house . Wish they had delivery!!! Okay new update for 11÷9÷15 Food is still amazing My Thai iced tea was extremely sweet! I had to add a lot of water to it but maybe that’s because my order was«to go» and they didn’t realize how sweet the thai ice tea was going to be ?? but if I had been in the restaurant I definitely would’ve sent it back! other than that the food I ordered was freaking delicious and I’m happy that trader Joe’s was closed because I ended up having a yummy dinner all by myself in the comfort of my own home. My only suggestion is for them to put a hook in the women’s restroom so we can hang our purses because it is unsanitary to have to place our purse on the floor or the sink so please consider doing that for us and maybe adding a shelf in there that we can place our belongings on. Thank you To the management in advance for taking note of my simple suggestions. But keep up the great work on the delicious food!

Great little restaurant next to Trader Joe’s. Lots of different items to choose from. Don’t let the menu on Unilocal fool you. When you get to the restaurant you’ll spend a little time looking at all the goodies they have to offer. Only reason I gave them 4 stars was because of the service. Our server was polite and professional but she was the only one there. She was working as fast as she could but she needed some help. We had to wait a long time for our food and check. I’ll definitely return for the food. If they get more staff would definitely give them 5 stars.

For places similar to this one, I wish Unilocal had half star options. I spontaneously decided to try this place out after a shopping spree at Trader Joes. After spending 20 mins grocery shopping on an empty stomach, I was ready to eat something quick. I ordered their chow mein lunch special which came with a lot of food for only $ 5.99! I ordered a salad which came as an appetizer and fried rice which came as a side to my main entrée. My mom ordered their sweet and sour chicken entrée and was disappointed because it turned out to be soy chicken hahaa! She liked her dish, though was let down by the lack of actual meat. Not sure if this place is entirely vegetarian(couldn’t find specific information on their menu) but for someone who is new to the restaurant this can be confusing. The portions were generous enough to have some leftovers and all for a great price of $ 5.99 per dish. I’m conflicted about my review because although I loved the quantity and prices, I’m not sure how I felt about the food itself. The chow mein was good, but the noodles resembled top ramen noodles stir fried with Thai ingredients. I was looking forward to the hearty noodles Thai places usually have so it was unexpected. Overall, I’d give this place 3.5 stars.

I like the pad Thai and the chicken curry. I took out and the pat see Yu was pretty good. The wait was long even though I was the only person.

Prices and food were o-k, but service could be better. Our waitress wasn’t friendly at all; she never smiled and didn’t seem to like her job. It was smaller and more intimate than I expected inside. I’m glad that this restaurant had both lunch and dinner specials, as regular price is a bit expensive/overpriced. I probably won’t be coming back again, as I didn’t find anything extraordinary. With many popular restaurants nearby, such as Why Tasty? and the Indian eatery/market just a few doors down, I think I’d much rather eat there than this place again. Perhaps is this place got more friendly waiters/waitresses, my opinion would be different. I tried the yellow chicken curry dinner special, which came with soup or salad, white rice or shrimp fried rice, an egg roll or 2 wontons, and the curry. I picked the soup, fried rice, and wontons. The soup was pretty good; it had a decent amount of tofu and green onion in it. The wontons weren’t that great, I was expecting more taste, but I couldn’t tell or taste the tiny filling inside at all. The curry and fried rice were average; it would have been nice if the waitress had asked how spicy I wanted the curry.

I ordered their Yellow Curry(Chicken) for lunch. Bought it for ~$ 7+. Taste-wise, pretty decent, but the amount of chicken was small. I guess you get what you paid for. Good thing it came with your choice of soup or salad. Overall, a nice place to have your lunch break from work.

I’ve been to Chinatown location and didn’t know San Gabriel location are related. The parking lot was busy at 4:30pm on a Saturday. The restaurant is small and not busy at all. I called my order for a pick up of salted fish fried rice and beef satay. I had better beef satay somewhere else but my fried rice was delicious. The manager seem to be very nice. I would go back to try lunch specials.
