We just found this little breakfast place and it was wonderful! We even invited the owner to come sit with us and tell us about her place. Someday the train will stop in San Dimas and this will be the perfect place to watch. In the meantime the food was great! We will be going back again for the food and atmosphere.

New favorite little spot for iced coffee or their specialty Rail Side Chai. Have breakfast or a healthy lunch on the patio. Cozy up with a blanket on cooler days or sit under an umbrella on warmer ones. Great place to work, read or chat with friends. Owners and staff are friendly and helpful. Near downtown San Dimas.

Cute little coffee shop. Employees are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast sandwiches are delicious accompanied by a blended coffee= perfection. Can’t wait to go back.

Today I forked over $ 7 for one of the saddest sandwiches I’ve ever seen. It got worse once I bit into it. It was suppose to be a caprese sandwich, but all I got was paper thin deli slices of salt block mozzarella, cardboard tomatoes, a whisper of fresh basil, a strong presence of canned roasted red bell peppers(great when you need to cover up a lack of flavor), and a lot of awful spongy bread. Thematically consistent, was the classic Italian side dish of Rold Gold brand hard pretzels. I wanted to like the place, I really did. The service was fine, it was clean, and they have a nice little outdoor seating area… but I just can’t stand being ripped off like that. I mean $ 7…really? If this is indeed an anomaly, take it off the damn menu or do something better. I don’t plan on giving this place a second chance. 2 stars because of the friendly service.

Absolutely awesome place. It’s family owned so you get the personal service you don’t see at a Starbucks. Ther coffee and pastries are on point, and I would run over someone to get their Turkey Pesto Panini. The location is awesome with a great patio. If you are in the area and have a hankering for a cup of Joe, this is the place.

Came in for breakfast today as all the reviews are so positive, and I can say they are well deserved. This place rocks! Maxine is super nice and helpful and her recommendation for croissant with egg whites, sausage, spinach, and pesto was amazing. They serve Lavazza coffee in a huge mug! This is a great place, a great value, and a new favorite spot. I highly recommend this place!!!

I just had breakfast here for the first time. The Wake Up #1 and their chai tea latte both hit the spot. Delicious food and friendly, excellent service. I’ll be recommending this place to friends and I will definitely be back.

I believe this was the best service I’ve had anywhere. I ordered a pastrami panini and an Italian mango soda. Food did not take long at all and the panini was served with some delicious pretzels. Overall very satisfied.

I had panini caprese– which was not too bad but the portion is definitely smaller than I expected. The location is very nice but inside is very small. If it’s not cold outside and no one smoking I’d definitely come by and enjoy my afternoon or early morning here.

Normally I would give a place like this 3 stars at best, but I can’t get myself to give anything less than 4 due to excellent service and awesome vibe. The whole place has old train theme and other vintage pictures & artwork on its walls. It has a very relaxed, cozy feel with old-fashioned customer service. Everyone seemed like family and treated customers the same way. I give extra points to the staff for being friendly to my kid. That’s a big plus in my book because I know how annoying little kids can be. This place seems very kid/family friendly and even has a toy pony outside by the entrance that kids can ride. It’s for slightly bigger kids(maybe about 4 or 5) but it’s comfortable to sit and moves forward when you push down on the foot rest. For smaller kids an adult would have to push it forward. The food is pretty standard sandwich items, all pressed in a panini grill. Even our breakfast croissant sandwiches were pressed on a panini grill. They are definitely on the pricey side but does seem to use good ingredients. This place uses Boar’s Head meat products and Lavazza coffee. My wife and I ordered Wake Up #1(eggs, Boar’s Head prosciutto or sausage, Havarti cheese) and Wake Up #2(egg whites, spinach, mozzarella) croissants. Both tasted pretty good and ingredients were fresh, but at $ 6-$ 7, it is definitely pricey. My wife said the coffee was ok but weak in flavor. I know my review is definitely more emotional than logical but I am totally digging this place. The brick building with the old school charm and vibe is very inviting, and I definitely want to return here with my family for a weekend breakfast. Inside is pretty small but there are several tables and chairs outside. This whole area has a nostalgic vibe and is quite relaxing.

The panini I ordered here was the saltiest sandwich I have ever had; it was almost unbearable. I ordered the Panini Prosciutto and my boyfriend ordered the U.S.A. Melt panini. Every element/ingredient in my Panini Prosciutto was salty; I probably would have changed an ingredient or two, personally. I expected the prosciutto and sun-dried tomato to be salty, but not that salty; I also didn’t expect the olive spread to be so bold. My boyfriend’s sandwich tasted a lot better and the proportions were just right. This café is a little pricey, but the service was decent and the atmosphere inside was great. It’s located in a very quiet area. I may or may not be back to try other menu items.

Great great service, atmosphere, and coffe. I’ll start with service, the owner Josie soooo sweet my first time visiting she introduced herself, small talked and welcomed me to the area(as i had just moved) then to top it off gave my son and niece complimentry hot chocolate. Second visit I met Nicole who’s just awesome and Madison both again friendly and welcoming. On to the coffee, so far I’ve had their pumpkin spice and peppermint both amazing tried some of my sisters chai with added shots and seriously best chai Ive had. We also got the éclair super yummy. Next time I’ll try their breakfast and lunch. Atmosphere is great love it, they serve your coffee and cute mugs. Love it! Glad I live close I’m definitely goin to be a regular. I already see it…

Rail Side Café is on the southeast side of the intersection of San Dimas Avenue and Commercial Street. It’s right on the corner of the brick building and has outdoor seating that’s dog friendly. I actually get my teeth cleaned close by so after my dentist appointment one morning I made it over to this café for some breakfast before heading to my office. I ordered a Mocha Latte and an order of Organic Oatmeal with strawberries. I actually couldn’t decide what to order… a Cinnamon Roll? A Breakfast Wrap? I love the mugs and bowls they use. After my first sip of my beverage, I knew I was a fan. I ordered a small sized latte, but the mug it came in was huge. I thought the oatmeal was just okay. I’m glad I got the strawberries to go with it. It was quite peaceful sitting on the patio and there were a few dogs out there with me. A mixed Shih Tzu, Chihuahua, and French Bulldog. Anyway, I encountered very friendly staff(as well as patrons). I can look forward to my dentist appointments now since I know I get to stop in at Rail Side Café! LOL 143⁄100 Reviews for 2015

My visit here was nothing short of 5 Star, Amazing, Delicious, and satisfying! Decided to meet here for a business meeting with my wellness coach. The location is super chic, clean, and new looking. It has a lovely outdoor dining area with the perfect amount of breeze and shade for the hot days. I ordered a turkey panini OMG it was waaaaaaaaaay more appetizing than I had expected! We also came on International Coffee day so they were very pleased to offer free coffee throughout our visit. Josie, the really awesome manager, came out to greet us and even offered to share our business information with others at her location. All I can say is the food, service, and location were superb and I will definitely be back!

Stopped by randomly on my way back to San Diego and ordered the Wake up #1 and iced soy latte. The iced soy latte was good, not dilute with smooth tasting espresso. The wake up #1 sandwich was made of egg and havarti cheese with the choice of sausage or prosciutto. I ordered the sausage. The sandwich came out piping hot on a freshly toasted croissant. The sandwich was delicious and the croissant was mmmmazing! Flaky, buttery goodness that meshed perfectly with the melted havarti(similar to mozzarella) cheese, sausage and egg. I’d definitely come back here again just for the sandwich!
