Ok so the name on the building is Ambro’s Sandwich. 1st time here and won’t be back. The lady taking orders and money doesn’t speak English. She points at everything. A customer was eating a tuna sandwich and found a piece of a plastic bag in his tuna. He showed it to her and she just looked at it. She picked it up with a napkin and showed it to someone behind the wall. She cake back and said, «give it here» reaching for his sandwich he looked at her said, «no its ok, I don’t want another one but a sorry would be nice» she just looked at the cash register and went back to ringing up the next customer.

Had to do some errands at lunch and happened to end up here. The shop itself is pretty small, with only five tables inside and a soda dispenser. Customers were occupying three of the tables, and I saw they were eating teriyaki as well as sandwiches. After scanning the menu I settled on the small tuna diet and a potato salad. The order came out very quickly. The potato salad was not something I’d get again. It was not bad, but the taste was way too sweet for my preference. As for the sandwich, it was delicious! The roll was soft and fresh and filled with tuna, avocado, Swiss cheese, sprouts, cucumber and tomato. Very good! I will pass on the potato salad next time, but definitely be back for another sandwich!

Amazing. If you are looking for a simple, good, homemade sandwich… Go! I usually get the turkey avocado on regular wheat bread. So simple, yet so good! You will crave this place!

I can’t five star a sandwich shop but this is as good as can be done for what they do. I don’t like the teriyaki stuff but all the sandwiches and fries are on point. It has a sit down eat and leave lobby like it’s supposed to be. They do large orders for local business so call those in early if you expect it by 12 – 1.

There is nothing remarkable about this place. The roast beef is the same quality as the meat you buy pre-sliced in a grocery store. At least the fixings were fresh and the bread was soft. The potato salad was terrible. I took one bite and tossed the rest. It was very sweet and soupy. I hate saying this, but you would be better off at a place like Jersey Mikes

Ambro’s is a great local business that came highly recommended by my coworkers and didn’t disappoint. I have yet to have the teriyaki(which is the only thing one of my coworkers gets and loves) but have had sandwiches a few times now. I usually go with the Ambro’s California with turkey, bacon, avocado and Swiss cheese. The veggies are always cold and fresh tasting and the bacon is perfectly crispy. The service is quick and efficient, and the sandwiches are a step above your run of the mill sandwich chain. This is a go-to for me, especially on days when I need to grab lunch quickly and keep working while I grub.

Looking to grab a couple Sandwiches ToGo, Unilocal led me to this place which was a couple doors down from a Donut shop, it’s like killing two birds with one stone! IMO the Sandwiches are OK/good but not 4 Star worthy… pretty good menu of Hot & Cold Sandwiches Meatball & Cheese — Large 10″($ 5.99) Meatballs, Marinara Sauce & Provolone Cheese on what they claim to be a French Roll… while I’m sure the balls and sauce are store bought they were not bad, sandwich could have/needed a bit more sauce the roll was soft and fresh but when I think French Roll I’m thinking of a roll with a crunch to the outside, a good sandwich but nothing great. 3-Stars Nervous Wreck w/added Bacon — small 6″($ 5.99 +Bacon $.90-cents) Same«French Roll»?? Ham, a t-i-n-y slice of Roast Beef, Dry Salami, Cotto Salami, Mortadella and Provolone Cheese w/added Bacon! *(bacon was one small strip that looked to be microwaved… Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Mayo, Mustard nothing great but a good sandwich for the price. 3-Stars NOT a place I’d recommend coming out of your way to, but IF in the area come check them out.

My bf gives 5 stars for his tuna melt, but the chicken teriyaki plate I got wasn’t good at all, the chicken was really dry and flavorless. I’m excited to try their cold sandwiches which everyone raves about and they looked delicious, then I’ll change my review — but I’ll never order the teriyaki again!

If there was every a place that you can just blindly point to something on a menu and expect to be good then this is that place. Ambro’s is amazing. Their sandwiches are totally delicious. Try the beef dip, pastrami, or one of their cold cuts if you really want to have something good. I for one am able total fan of their hamburger combo. For like $ 6 you get a very tasty burger, fries, and a drink. The little Asian ladies who run this place are absolute miracle workers. They make some really good food at very reasonable prices. Much love to Ambro’s!

I was looking for a sandwich spot I haven’t tried and found this place on Unilocal.Parking was avaible no problem. It looks similar to a dounut shop. Plain and simple. Nothing fancy. I ordered a cheese and avacado sandwich. I asked the owner if the avacado was slices of avacado or mush avacado. She said real avacado. When I got my sandwich it was mush avacado but at least it didn’t taste like fake avacado. The roll was fresh and the cheese was good. They have a pretty small menu. For some reason I thought they would serve coffee here, they don’t. Just soda and tea. Honestly I’m not sure if I would go out of my way to go here. Togo’s makes a similar sandwich that’s a little bit tastier. Maybe next time I’ll try their teriyaki dishes. As someone mention in another review, the owner is not so friendly. I’m not asking for a big production. But, she could seem a little bit happier instead of just blah. She didn’t say hi when I walked in or if she could help me. I said thank you when my order was finished and she replied«OK». Hmm. Not very welcoming and doesn’t encourage me to go back. Its okay. Its fresh. Better than Subway no doubt. But comparable to Togo’s. I like Togo’s better.

Really yummy sandwiches. I think the thing that makes them so good is the bread. The only downside is that the lady who works here isn’t very friendly. We come here often and you would think she would smile or say hi, but that doesn’t happen.

I went there this afternoon and I already want to go back. I dont know what it is about this place but these sandwiches are just the bees frikkin knees. They are hands down my favorite sandwiches, the ambros«famous» one in particular. It sounds like a normal sandwich in terms of ingredients, but I think its just the quality of the ingredients that puts it over the edge. You’d have to have a screw loose to choose subway period, but to choose it when you have this place around is just dumb. Its the same prices and phenomenally better than that assembly line driven shit pile. If you have ever had a sandwich, if you like sandwiches, if you go to subway, you owe it to yourself to try this place, seriously. BEST. SANDWICHES. EVER. At least — to me. I think sandwiches are a bit of a subjective experience, so for me, these take the cake, the sandwich cake.

First time here. Had the 6 inch Steak and Cheese. It was awesome. The bread is amazing! The counter service not overly friendly — but it is certainly not unfriendly. It is simply quick and efficient. The seating area is a bit limited, so if you want to eat-in get there early.

Fresh products with a soft touch on the bread. This place has a soft and simple touch to their delicious sandwiches. My order: Pastrami sandwich — again I love their soft bread with some clean cut pastrami not the usually pastrami with all the fat trimmings stuck on it. Well balanced with the mustard and pickles. Mac salad– fresh but with just a little too much mayo for me but then again I don’t usually eat mayo so it may be just right for others. Check it out y’all… Simple, clean and affordable. Will def return and try a one of their special sandwiches

What the heck?! Tuna Diet(10″ $ 5.95) and Ambros Famous Sub(10″ $ 5.95)… where have you been all my life? Apparently tucked a way in a little shopping center that I never had any interest going into until I finally took the advice of a friend and fellow Unilocaler to try Ambro’s. How can simple sandwiches be so delicious? They also have a KBBQ beef special on the menu(would be random in a sandwich shop but the owners are Korean so its not that random).

My favorite sandwich shop in the San Dimas area! This little mom-and-pop shop is a gem and keeps me coming back every week! The menu is simple, service is great, and the fresh ingredients really make these sandwiches pop! I am addicted to the Tuna Diet($ 4.99 for 6″ or $ 5.99 for 10″). This sandwich is served on a French Roll and comes with a generous portion of their tuna salad, sprouts, cucumber, avocadoes, & tomatoes. The tuna salad is really good and doesn’t have that mayo after taste that most tuna salads do. The cucumbers and sprouts add a great texture and make the sandwich«feel healthy». Also — they do not stiff you on the avocado portions! They use avocado slices and do not use avocado paste like other main stream sandwich shops do! Fun fact: you can also order this on sliced whole wheat bread. I’m also a fan of the Ambro’s California. My boyfriend has tried the Korean Short Rib but wasn’t too thrilled with it. Just average.

This place is OK and gets 3.5 stars from me. It’s a small mom and pop shop that city workers like to visit. For the prices, the portions are large and it’s worth the amount you pay. The bread isn’t the greatest and I’m pretty sure the use of a microwave is involved in the making of some of these subs. In terms of food quality, it’s not the best sub place I’ve ever been to, but we’re in San Dimas so… relative to the area, this place is great.

Everything fresh= good subs It’s impossible to fail subs if everything is fresh. Three ladies work in the kitchen… I really like my subs carefully made by female hands,… I like my order of Ambro’s famous, it tastes very light. I now remember why I don’t like Subways because it tastes too heavy. (but if you are like my Mexican friend who even adds soy sauce to his fried rice… you probably won’t like this place)
