Came in on a weekday afternoon and the bar was packed. Only a couple bartenders and a lot of customers. The selection of beer is amazing and the drink menu is incredibly helpful and organized. The service was friendly and I’m glad the mall has a place like yard house now. Exactly what we needed right next to the theater

Nice place to stop in for yummy snacks & great beers. It’s a nice clean bar with friendly servers & a chill vibe. It is a very busy place resulting in slower service. Nitro beer’s are a must-have! My favorite is the Boulder Nitro Chocolate Shake Porter. This is a smooth delicious beer that replaces my dessert. Two tasty runners up are the Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout & Big Sky Moose Drool. They have an extensive beer menu and some interesting looking beer cocktails. The truffle fries are amazing, seasoned with herbs and the perfect amount of parmesan on top. Also a must is the pig candy — YES spicy candied bacon is legit. Not a huge fan of the flavor of the Korean peppered short rib jerky that accompanied the candied bacon. Burgers are awesome — big enough to share & still feel stuffed. Highly recommend the pepper crusted gorgonzola burger(mmmm) & the pepper jack burger. Overall I enjoy each experience here and look forward to return visits.

Starting off with the good, I had the truffle burger and it was delicious. The shoe string fries are awesome as well. I always ask for a side of au jus to dip them in. This started when I used to get the roast beef sandwich at the downtown location. However I stopped getting the roast beef sandwich the first(and only other) time I came to this location and the meat was so gross. It was like leather and I couldn’t eat it. This trip was our first time back, and I went with the burger and am glad I did. There were other things I would’ve liked to try but the prices here can be pretty ridiculous. The lobster macaroni is 25 dollars. Come on. My husband ordered the s’mores brownie. It took about 15 minutes to come out which is a pretty long time for a dessert. I did not care for it. It looks amazing when it comes out with huge roasted marshmallows on it. But the brownie itself is not rich or chocolatey. It has very little flavor. It is given to you in a pan and is extremely thin. Even that would be ok if it tasted great but it doesn’t. Trust me, it’s not like me to put down a brownie but there was nothing delicious about this one and it was 8 dollars!!! They sat us at a table farthest in the corner close to the entryway so every time someone opened the door the cold air hit us. The waitresses walked every single guest all the way around our table to get to a walkway. Seriously we had people walking around us for every instant of our meal. It was a terrible table but we had already waited thirty minutes for a seat. And this was a Thursday! In short would I go back? Yes I probably will because I really liked my burger. I’d be more outspoken about getting such a terrible seat and I wouldn’t waste money on the high priced«brownie» when I can eat a little Debbie with more chocolate flavoring at home.

They did a great job with the layout of this location. Wish it wasn’t in the mall, but at least it adds to choices to choose from in Mission Valley. The beer selection is great as always and the variety of the menu makes for easy choices no matter how fussy the eaters are in your group. A nice plus is the late night happy hour that starts at 10 pm during the week.

Do you remember your 6th favorite rock band from the 90s? Me neither. That’s about how memorable an experience at Yardhouse has always been for me. Along with Chili’s, BJ’s, TGIFriday’s, Applebee’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and every other Office-Worker Feedlot in America, they all arrive in that same dreary ‘Office Space Happy Hour’ corner of my mind… The kind of place you only end up because ‘bro! 50 beers on tap bro!’. Or maybe because some estranged relative gave you a $ 50 gift card for Xmas that’s burning a hole in your wallet. Ding ding ding! Ok the service was fast and friendly. God bless em. Place was strangely dark so we had to use the fake table candles to illuminate the menu. Everything including the snacks, soups, apps and entrees all bulldozed out at once with Guy Fieri fury which was new for me but if thats how Guy want’s it, I’m game. Whatever bro. I got a Yard of beer bro. Chicken Noodle soup was exceptional. BBQ chicken salad was hearty and delicious but avalanched in fried onion strips which made me think maybe Fieri is somewhere nearby with a hidden camera ready to pop with something clever to say as I keel over. Steamed edimame? Sure. Chicken Sandwich, tasty. Just kinda ‘there’. Again. Nothing was bad but nothing memorable either. Kinda like any Tuesday morning commute. If nothing else it’s a reminder that for whatever safety there is in chain brew houses™, the mom-and-pop dirty/divey corners of the world are still worth it despite the risk.

I was never a huge fan of the downtown Yard House, but the Mission Valley location is bringing me around. Although the restaurant sits in the heart of the Mission Valley Mall, the inside is nice and quite spacious. I’ve been here a few times now with coworkers for both happy hour and lunch, with a strong preference for their happy hour. First of all, happy hour is served in the entire restaurant so there’s no need to wedge yourself into a crowded spot at the bar. There are a number of drink specials and obviously this place has a pretty large beer selection. Happy hour actually boasts a pretty wide variety of food specials, so you’re not relegated to just the normal happy hour fare. Personally, I’m a fan of the Seared Ahi and Garlic Noodles. Both are packed with flavor and don’t make you feel weighed down like the traditional wings and pizza(these are both available and quite tasty as well). As far as the service goes, I’ve encountered a number of friendly people at the bar and table side.

Was here after Star Wars movie, for my friend’s birthday. Food is always yummy, they have a great beer list. No alcohol this time. Had a great time laughing hysterically and catching up with friends.

Yard House… where the only location WAS in downtown before they recently closed. It was a place for before the club, birthday party, or after a drunken event. It was a great place to get fancy, or dance at the bottom floor. Shots were taken here… truffle fries were gobbled here, and then they moved ;(. It was always an okay place to me, they had good food but I thought of them as.“that chain…” with medicore but sometimes great food. It had been years since I had been… until… I visited the Mission Valley location. This location is right next to the movie theatres. Once you walk in, you are greeted by the hostess. This place is PRETTY darn huge(not as huge as the downtown San Diego location), but it still has a nice center bar. I have to say that I would never thought I would say this about a chain but the food was amazing and the services was so exceptional. They have an EXTENSIVE menu… even a VEGETARIAN menu that looked deliciously appetizing and creative. Stop with the«Black Bean Burgers» — these guys have a vegetarian world that includes: fried«chicken strips», «Chicken» Mac n Cheese, Blackened«Chicken» Torta and so forth. The whole menu had a «worldly» feel as they put it as it covered many modern and creative dishes, to classics, to comfort food, asian fusion and so forth. There are noodles, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, snacks, salads, seafood, jamabalaya, steak, dessert, kid’s menus. The server told me they make practically everything… over 100+ items in house, every single day. Awesome! Our server was very professional, kind and gave nice suggestions. I decided to order a few random items to get to sample each one. I ordered: 1. The Organic Tomato Basil Bisque– amazing. Perfect blend of creamy and tomato-y. 2. Truffle and Parmasean Fries — Omg so good. Large portions for a side. Thin cut fries drizzled with that truffle oil! 3. Shitake Garlic Noodles– Geez this was a nice portion for an item on the«Snack» menu. These were delicious. Noodles cooked with butter, garlic, shitake mushrooms, parmasean and chives. 4. Crispy Duck Potatoes– They don’t seem to be on the menu anymore, but wow they were GOOD! I’ll be back to try more items!

Pretty solid bar with solid food. It sorta takes the place of the yardhouse in Downtown which sadly shut down. Good happy hour deals and lots of TV’s with sports playing. Good spot to meet up with friends to catch up. I recommend the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato bisque soup. Good service also from the staff here.

I came in one a Monday evening with my sister and friends. I saw on their website that they had Happy Hour on Mondays. Rachael was our server and informed us that Happy Hour is until the last play of Monday Night Football. We ordered: Chicken nachos Calamari Poke stack Spicy Thai chicken pizza For drinks, I had the house honey blonde and my sister and friends had a Moscow mule. Everything we ate and drank that evening was great, except the chicken nachos. The chicken nachos was huge but I felt like they didn’t put enough chicken on the nachos. Don’t get me wrong, it was really tasty but lacked the protein. The calamari had good bread and flavor. The poke stack was generous and came with fried wonton. We should have ordered two of these. The spicy thai chicken pizza was also very good. Service from Rachael was good. I really don’t have any complaints. They have good Happy Hour deal. I’ll just have to come by and try their regular menu one day.

I love Yard House mainly for their large selection of beers! I was super happy that they opened this location inside of Mission Valley mall because it’s more central and convenient compared to going to downtown where all the hectic club/bar goers are. The restaurant itself is surprisingly huge compared to the clothing stores that used to reside in that corner next to the movie theater. I love the vibe here. Dimmed lighting, tons of large flat screen tvs, modern design, big booth tables, and center bar. Food: Truffle Fries The fries is quite a small portion to be honest, but it does have good flavor. Jambalaya(with pasta) The pasta was okay. I did like that the dish was very meaty. Plenty of sausages and crawfish meat. The sauce was light. Portion was okay. Beer Ace Pineapple Beer *** Always my ultimate favorite offered at yardhouse! Tastes like pineapple soda. Apricot Beer This beer was okay. Just tastes like a light tarte beer. Service 1. They don’t automatically bring you water. We had to ask for it, multiple times. 2. The second time everyone ordered a beer, they brought out everyone’s beer except for mine. I had to flag down a waiter to ask what happened to it, and our female server came back and said that she FORGOT to tell me that the beer I ordered was out of stock. 3. After I ordered a new beer, my beer had a fly in it! And I had to flag down another waiter to request a new one. Instead of apologizing, he tried to make jokes. 4. I don’t really like that they had multiple different servers bringing out each of our items, so we had to keep requesting where an item was and each person had to check back. Overall, the restaurant is really nice, food is okay, beer is great, but service needs work.

Alrighty, a Yard House nearby in Mission Valley. I only made it out to the downtown location once, and it was not that great of an experience. Came in for happy hour finally to check out the new place. Sat down quickly and didn’t look busy on a Tuesday night of course. Tables were clean and neat. Dining area was dark and had good ambiance like other Yard Houses. Our server was attentive and grabbed our orders quickly. Happy hour is on Sun-Thurs 10pm to close. We stuck to the HH options and got the vampire taco, garlic chicken noodles, and boneless firecracker wings. For drinks I got the Cali Creamin’ Ale and Kona Longboard Lager, and my other half got the Alaskan Amber. The vampire taco came with a cheese crusted tortilla, carnitas, bacon chorizo, chipotle salsa, roasted garlic, cumin crema, guacamole, and cilantro. Pretty much the garlic overpowered the taco and the cheese tortilla gave the taste a nice vehicle as both freshness and zesty spices entered the palate. If you like garlic, this is for you. Garlic chicken noodles from here usually taste flavorful with its sauce, but had to send it back as it was a bit dry. Second time around it tasted better and to expectations. Boneless wings had a good meat to bread ratio and had a decent kick in spice. The draft beer list here is pretty extensive. I don’t know the exact amount of available drafts here, but the prices for a pint here tend to be on the higher side. A pint runs around 6 – 7 bucks, even for the local craft beers. Even during HH prices(1 buck off domestic) I would get the local beer somewhere else from the actual brewery in town. I would come here again if I want Alaskan Amber on tap and the occasional garlic chicken noodles. I am glad Yard House is closer to home so it is easier to commute.

This is a really nice upscale restaurant that I really like and I would love to try other dishes as well. This place is located in the Mission Valley Mall and there is a parking garage and the closest place to park in the parking garage is in the AMC theaters and take the elevators up to the second floor. First of all: The ambiance is really nice, sleek and modern. They do have a bar and flat screen tv’s. The music was loud but I thought the music was a good choice. They have high tables and chairs and have a lot of seating inside but none outside. The staff is very nice and friendly and we were greeted right away on arrival which opened the doors that makes us want to come back. This place was packed not a single table was open but the waitresses and waiters were hustling to get the food out to the tables to serve. It’s a nice and an up beat place. This location is a new location and they have a couple other locations throughout San Diego. I ordered the Orange Peel Chicken and it was very tasty and had some nice flavors all throughout the dish. The chicken was tender white meat and sweet, the orange peels were spicy. I had the Jasmine rice instead of the brown rice and it was all very good. We will see you soon! UPDATE: We decided to stop in for a late dinner and for a special dinner we decided to stop in for some goodness. I already knew what I was gonna order and YES again another Grilled Cheese but a different kind of way. Let me explain… The is called Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque. It was absolutely delicious. It has a rustic charm by the flavors, bread and colors so beautiful looking and it’s huge that I was shocked. The grilled cheese had roasted tomatoes, cheddar, Gorgonzola, Swiss, fontina, on Artisan Bread. I was surprised that I liked these flavors such as the Swiss and fontina and a cheese I have never had such as the Gorgonzola. The nicest addition to this grilled cheese was the tomatoes. The tomatoes were ripe and delicious and such a treat. They are what made all of the flavors come together as a whole and the Artisan Bread was so crunchy and a nice rustic addition and held well together with the tomatoes and cheeses. There was also Tomato Bisque soup which was really good and especially dunk-able. It held together well when I was dipping my sandwich into the soup and it gave it a nice flavor and a special crunchiness along with a satisfying taste of the soup all in one bite. MMMM! The only thing I wished the soup had was a thick consistency but what made up for it was that it was dunk-able. I like a thinner soup and it wasn’t too strong nor acidic which was a nice change and it was the change I was looking for. See you soon!

I am not a beer drinker so I can’t attest to the vast lineup of tap beers they have, but their food and service here is amazing! My buddy and I came here on a Saturday evening before the new Bond movie and only had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Our waitress was excellent and gave us a lot of insight into their food menu. After asking her recommendations, we went with the crispy duck wings as an appetizer and each ordered the full-size chicken & bacon mac-n-cheese and the porcini crusted halibut. The crispy duck wings were spectacular. The maple soy glaze on them was flavorful and the duck skin was crispy every bite. The mac-n-cheese(one of the server’s recommendations) delivered as promised, it easily was one of the top 3 mac-n-cheese entrees I have had in my lifetime. My friend loved his crusted halibut that was also accompanied with mashed potatoes, asparagus and bok choy. I was honestly surprised that Yard House cooked the bok choy perfectly. Despite its hectic weekend evening crowd, our server was in total control of everything. She got us refills to our drinks promptly numerous times and checked up on us throughout our dinner. Even during her 15 minute break, she introduced us to her coworker whom would care for us during her break. The food overall was amazing too. If a restaurant chain franchisee ever wanted to be successful, the Yard House at Mission Valley would be a perfect role model.

We were looking for Food Truck Friday in Mission Valley, but the trucks weren’t there at the usual spot next to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We weren’t sure if it was cancelled or if they moved. So we decided to hit up The Yard House. It was Friday and happy hour. I thought there might be a bit of a wait, but surprisingly we were seated the moment we walked in. We had a super cool server named«Mel». We didn’t realize it was still happy hour until she(Mel) pointed out the tiered happy hour menu with: $ 5, $ 6, $ 7, and $ 8 items. Since it was our first time, we asked Mel for suggestions. After asking us a few questions she had several recommendations for us. We ordered a few different things: chicken nachos, barbecue chicken pizza, and some tacos(Korean short rib and swordfish). Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We were happy with our food. Everything tasted good and portions were decent. Mel was great. She checked on us more than enough times to make sure our food was fine and our water and drinks were filled. I really liked that there are lots of options for food and drinks. They have televisions throughout the place and service is great(from start to finish). Had very good experience here. Will definitely return in the future. Food: 4⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Atmosphere: 4⁄5

UPDATE: Dropping down to an average 3 stars. Consistently mediocre food and service. Worst part is the bad food. Their menu is too big, so they can’t get anything perfect or even close to it. Front of house women are catty and lazy. Waste of money. ___________________ We walked in and I cheerfully greeted the three ladies posted at front of house. They were all very sweet and friendly in return. The place was packed, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. The food: I wanted to get the filet, but felt it was too pricy at ~$ 26. I’ll save that for another time when its a special occasion. I didn’t expect the prices to be so high for a mall restaurant. I probably ordered wrong. I got a turkey club sandwich, which was $ 11.95. It was just okay. The turkey didn’t seem very fresh-tasting, nor did it seem as though it was from a roasted turkey. I’ve had better. The bacon, however, was of great quality and had a nice taste, but again… not grabbed by the whole sandwich. It came with shoestring French fries, which I tossed. I did have a taste of my daughter’s dish(Orange Peel Chicken) ~$ 16.95, but it was worth the price, as hers was delicious! I was a little jealous. I’m sure it was a combination of being starving from running errands all day, plus my unwillingness to really study the menu. We will be back soon and I’m sure I’ll be able to update my review once I eat a steak. Lol.

The location is odd. It’s right next to the AMC theatres at Mission Valley mall. We decided to try this place out since its brand new and the wait for Buffalo Wild Wings was ridiculous.(Waited about 1 hour here, just in time to watch before half time until the end) The wait maybe long since this place is new, but the bar is always open so just grab a few drinks and appetizers before being sat. Came here on a busy Monday night football, great place for Charger fans! It had lots of big, flat screen TVs everywhere and a bar in the middle of the restaurant. A lot of tables throughout the sides of the restaurant along with more tables by the bar. Also, has a great drink menu! Over 100 beers on tap and good happy hour specials I believe it’s Monday through Friday 3 – 6 pm(correct me if I’m wrong). Service was good, the server would constantly check on our waters, checked on our food, etc. the wait for the food was pretty long and the prices for the food were a little pricey for my taste. $ 13 for a truffle burger with thin fries. Portion sizes are huge since I had to take my meal to go. I would definitely come back and try this place out for their happy hour, hopefully it will raise my stars for this place. They have deals on appetizers and drinks!

Eh. Not the best location. Terrible layout(constant close-calls with restaurant staff no matter where you’re standing or going). Decent food, GREAT drink menu and happy hour deals. They don’t take reservations… Fine. We had a group of 11, I get it, it’s hard to seat that many anywhere let alone at a new popular place located smack dab in the middle of a centrally located shopping mall. We went to the bar for drinks while we waited which were all good and a server(manager?) gave us the happy hour prices for our first round — THANKS! After over an hour of waiting, the girl who’s name our group was under went to check on the status and her name had been highlighted out; it appeared that they had forgotten or neglected to seat us… We got seated pretty quickly after that. Not too thrilled about that… We were seated during our server’s break so there were some long periods of waiting between service. Food was fine(no one had any complaints), portions were large, and the prices(full prices, anyway) were a little steep. They brought out three birthday mousses(choice of three or so flavors) for our birthday girls… A nice little treat. They split our bill into 8 different checks with no issues or dirty looks so that was another plus. I don’t know how much of the nit-picky things had to do with it being a recently opened spot and how much are there to stay… Regardless, the food wasn’t good enough to justify full prices or more than an hour wait. Probably won’t come back unless it’s happy hour.

Came here on a MOCK night and we were the foodie dummies. Our experience was a great one. Food: **Coconut Shrimp with spicy green papaya salad, sweet chili sauce, basil pesto **Ahi Crunchy– seared rare, field greens, asian slaw, crispy wontons, soy vinaigrette **Southern Fried Chicken Breast boneless, spinach-corn-mashed potatoes, green onions, bourbon gravy The food was delicious that I had to return when they finally opened. The server on my second time around didn’t know what was in the Ahi Bowl but he was very nice. Overall, the restaurant is located in Mission Valley Mall, lots of tables to sit on and good food and drinks.

One thing I learned about stopping by this new Yard House during happy hours is that it bolds well for some good eats and drinks at very good prices. I ordered a variety of items, including a Michelob Ultra, a order of Jerk Wings for $ 6, the Seared Ahi Sashimi at $ 8, and a Happy Hour Pepperoni and Mushroom pizza for $ 6. I have to say I was quite impressed with all the food. The Jerk wings were my favorite with their mild Caribbean flavor. The wings were well flavored and seasoned. The meat of the wings was perfect. It had a light crispiness on the outside brought on by some charring which led into a tender and juicy middle. The wings came with a semi sweet sauce on the side which was I believe their rum BBQ sauce. The sauce was good, but a little to sweet for my taste. The seared and slightly blackened ahi sashimi was very good and provided a lighter flavor and texture then the wings. The ahi was sliced and had a nice rub and sear on the edges. The rub was reminiscent of a Cajun rub. The meat of the ahi was prepared to a medium rare to rare temperature. It flavor was mild and sweet and texture was light and silky. The soy vinaigrette on the plate complimented the ahi nicely and there sure wasn’t any wrong in eating the fish with a little wasabi and pickled ginger. This was a very nice plate and very nicely presented. The Yard House makes their own dough for their pizzas, so when I found out, I just had to try one, so I ordered the pepperoni and Crimini mushroom combination from the happy hour menu. The pizza was great. I only ate a couple of slices, and saved the rest for lunch the next day. The crust of the pizza had a nice soft moist texture with a slight crunchiness around the edges. The dough was a little sweet but in a good way. The sauce was very light, also a little sweet flavor, and the pepperonis and crimini mushrooms were quite tasty. However, a little more pepperonis would of been nice. Service was attentive and provided by a tag team of members, including management. The hostess at the front of the room were quite cheerful and welcoming. This Yard House is located in the Mission Vally Mall and has plenty of room inside with a larger bar at the center of the room. Gimme some more of those Jerk wings please.
