I am not a vegan or vegetarian. But this place gives me so much confidence that I could make such a life style change. Previously from Huntington Beach, I already new Loving hut from that location. Then they closed that restaraunt down; their lease got bought out. My husband and I were devestated. We moved out here to SD for work and we were pleasantly surprised there were two locations near us! Even better, every restaraunt has a different menu, which I suppose could put some people off, but we love it! Now to the food, everything is great! I had the Loving Hut Crispy Burger and I literally said«my mouth is so happy» as I was eating it. BBQ noodles are great too! And I’m not a fan of tofu. Definitely a must visit! P. S. All the desserts are great! The parking however, is not.

I love the drumstick there but be careful, let it cool down a bit before you eat, it’s hot.

Came here last night for the first time and I was really impressed! The service was great and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. I ordered the lucky lemongrass, and it was so good I know I’ll be back to order it again. I also had the cheesecake and that was delicious. I really like the extensive menu choices, lots of rice and noodle dishes(lots of soups too) as well as burgers and pasta. Really reasonable prices, for my boyfriend, my son, and I it was only $ 30, and that was even with the slice of cheesecake.

The food is okay. The price and service is great. Park on the street, stick with the Asian food.

I love everything about this place, except that it’s closed on Mondays and random hours during the week. Hey, they’re always busy so they have a right to I suppose. I always get phenomenal service and the food(at least the plates I eat) are always delicious. It feels family owned and all of the wait staff are extremely kind and helpful. If you’re looking to try an inexpensive vegan restaurant, definitely hit up the Loving Hut, especially this location. Even take-out is simple and seamless. My favorites are the bbq rolls as an app, phở(so fresh– both broth and noodles, even comparable to the real stuff), and of course bbq noodles. Can’t say I’ve tried much else, because if it ain’t broke, why fix it? Go on now, give it a go. Bring that friend you’ve always wanted to try something new with. Win win. 5 stars. Thank you Loving Hut.

Inexpensive vegan food options, but lacking in flavor. I saw some good reviews and stopped in for a late dinner but left unimpressed. The«Spicy Cha Cha» had a decent flavor to it, but was not enough to redeem the rest of the meal. We also tried the Pandan, a pistachio and coconut cake. It was very dry, but I could tell it would have been very good if made properly or served soon after baking. The cream was still delicious.

I have been coming here for years and this place never disappoints me. (P.S: JAN2016UPDATEONBOTTOMOFREVIEW) Customer Service: I believe this is a family ran business. They are always so welcoming & friendly. They have no problem accommodating to your needs. BBQ Rolls: Tasted just like Vietnamese spring rolls. I was surprised that it came with similar spring roll sauce as well. Spicy Cha Cha: This ones a crowd pleaser. The crunchiness of the shrimp balances out perfectly with the sauce & the side salad. Clay Pot Sensation: If you get this I would recommend getting a side salad because the«fish» can be overwhelming. Nonetheless, this is delicious. Lucky Mongo: The vegetables that come with this rice dish are so refreshing. It compliments the fillet very well. Heavenly Salad: A bit overwhelming because of how they present it. They stack up the salad on a small plate so it’s a bit hard to toss & get every little piece. I would suggest this if you’re a super health nut but if you aren’t don’t get it. The cabbage doesn’t taste too good but I don’t like cabbage in general so that’s probably why. Happy Pasta: The soy protein they put in here is so good I can’t get over it. The pasta is cooked al dente. You won’t get sick of this. Drink //Mango Tango: This isn’t too sweet, if you have a clenching thirst for some mango, you must try this! UPDATEASOF01⁄2016: changed 5 stars to 4. I used to be in love with loving hut but after coming back a few times now, the quality of their food has changed. The food here is definitely more plain/bland than it used to be. I still love this place but I hope they pay attention to the quality again!

Really good vegan food. I’ve only tried the Vietnamese entrees, so I can’t speak for the burgers and fries. The entrees are run about $ 7 – 9 and are very filling. My favorites are the lucky chow mein, spicy cha cha with brown rice, and wonton noodle soup. I always get great customer service here and the food comes out pretty fast, so no complaints. The parking is a little tight, so I don’t try to get a parking spot right in front, but more off to the side towards 7 Eleven and the laundry mat. They’re closed from 2 – 5 so plan your visit accordingly!

I wanted to like this location, since my first Loving Hut experience was so amazing(at their Chicago location, which I used to visit constantly). Unfortunately, the food and atmosphere left a lot to be desired. DH, kids and I went on a busy Wednesday evening. Tables are placed very close together and there’s no place to wait so we ended up feeling squished up next to people placing/picking up To Go orders while our table was cleaned. The staff member cleaning did a very rushed job and left food on the table plus a strong smell of the chemical spray he was using. I’m honestly not a neat freak, but felt the need to wipe down the table myself when the napkins arrived 10 min later. OK, as long as the food is yummy, no big deal, right? We ordered the spring rolls, which were fine, nothing special. Next up, the bun soup, which was served lukewarm, with big pieces of soy meat, noodles and not much else in it. We were not fans of the flavor, probably not helped by the soup being so tepid in temp. The spicy cha cha had a good consistency but was not served with any type of sauce, so I found it to be very dry. I asked for sweet and sour sauce, and with that as a dip it tasted better. The best dish was probably the crunchy noodles, which had a very generous portion of veggies and soy meat, but it was still nothing better than what I’ve had at your standard Vietnamese restaurant. Sad to say, will probably not be going back.

I have been a big fan of the Loving Hunt Mira Mesa for YEARS. It does not take much to convince me to get me there. I made my way to this location and while I would go again if asked, I would always go to the Mira Mesa location instead. First Impressions: This location doesn’t have a very cozy feel. But it is clean and functional enough. There are TVs all over too, which I think really cheapen the place. The Food: The menu is different from location to location and this was a disappointment. There were some favorites that were missing. However, I must say that the food I was served was very good. It was on par with the Loving Hut flavors that I had come to know. I tried a tofu dish and I was really pleased with how good it tasted. The Service: The service was really polite but it was really slow. I take into consideration how busy the location was when I was there, and it could have been better. But I would rather a slow server than a rude one. We eventually received everything we asked for. Overall: The food was good and if I was in the area, I would be okay with going back. But it is not as good as the Mira Mesa location. I will always suggest my group go there first,

Very impressive place. Never thought I’d see so many interesting dishes in a vegetarian place. This give me a lot of hope as I cut back on my meat consumption. Bun bo hue is one of my favorite dishes, so when I say they offered bun hue it was a must try. The mushroom drumsticks sounded interesting and had to order. The bun hue was very good. Shocking how flavorful the broth was with no bone base. Noodles were great. Very cool how they made their tofu look like brisket and meatballs. The tofu fell a little flat for me. The drumsticks were so good. Love mushrooms. When you get them fried, it’s something else. Can’t wait to come back and try the eggplant and won ton soup. Great place and the guy who is running it is very impressive.

If you’re looking for some great vegan, vegetarian or gluten free food this is the place! The food is simply delicious and loaded with flavor. Some people might assume that vegan is bland and boring but this is quite the opposite. Every bit you take leaves you wanting more and more. The servers are fast and friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. We ordered so much food and we couldn’t believe how low our bill was. Great quality good for great prices!

The whole experience was kinda strange with forgotten/lost orders, multiple(confused) waiters and some headscratch-inducing menu descriptions. Fries were previously frozen and sandwich was dry and boring. That said, service was friendly and quick, and it’s pretty cheap. It was decently packed too. It looked like most people had ordered off the regular menu(as in, not the Western burgers n’ stuff section) and it all smelled awesome so maybe I’ll come back for the noodles.

This was the first vegan restaurant I ever ate it, and still love it to this day! It’s cheap good food, and you can eat so much without feeling weighed down or guilty. I always start off with Spring Rolls | 5 $ Light, all veggie, and delicious. The perfect started because it doesn’t make you full, it just hits the spot. Entrees: Lucky Lemongrass | 9 $ Perfect portion! The little side salad could use more house dressing(because its so good) but other than that this dish is great. The rice is cooked just right and is sticky which i prefer.(for the white rice anyway) The texture of the«meat» is great, but i do have to say the salt aspect was way too overpowering, next time I’ll opt for the Orange Stir-fry entrée. Phở | 9 $(i think) I forget how flavorful and amaaaazing Phở is! They give you sauces, limes, sprouts, peppers and mint to put in yourself which is nice. I get the Phở everytime I go, and never regret it. Chocolate Cheesecake | 6 $(maybe?) OHHHHMYYYYYYYGAWWWSH. Perfect end to a great meal. tastes like regular cheesecake, no weird texture, its literally perfection.

Loving Hut, my friend around the world. On a recent visit to San Diego for Tiki Oasis, my girlfriend and I had Loving Hut delivered to the Crowne Plaza via Postmates. Though you can never go wrong with Loving Hut, each one is a little different so you can’t be entirely sure what you’re going to get. Fortunately, the food we got at the location on El Cajon was super delicious and left us wanting more. We decided on the Fresh Summer Rolls and Chicken Nuggets for appetizers and the Broccoli Delight as our shared entrée. The summer rolls were similar to others I’ve had, but I was impressed at how well they were rolled as they stayed together even as you took a bite out of them. And of course, paired with the Hoisin sauce it’s a great combo. Surprisingly, the chicken nuggets really blew us away. Or really I should say, the sauce did. The chicken nuggets were good of course but it’s kind of hard to do that wrong. The sauce is hard to describe, but it was a little bit chipotle-esque and a little bit tangy. Paired with the fried mock meat it was amazing. I wish we had another order for later. Our entrée, the Broccoli Delight, was a pretty standard affair of a veggie medley heavy on its namesake. However, it did have a decent amount of soy protein slices and tofu mixed in and a great ginger sauce. Shockingly, this entrée came with rice(though it didn’t state as such on the menu.) You always have to order rice separately in SF, so it was a nice surprise. Next time I’m in SD, I’ll definitely hit up Loving Hut, at least for those damn chicken nuggets.

I come here when I’m feeling extra chubby, but I still want take out or to go out to eat. Given the meals are vegetarian or vegan, they are light on the body. They get you the right kind of full too. I personally always start off with some fresh rolls. They’ve been a little dry and the jicama was dull and not crispy tonight, but other than that, they were good. The peanut sauce was also good. For my main meal, I had the lemongrass fried rice with brown rice. I ordered the large platter and large actually means large! At 6 ft and pushing close to 190lbs., I’m not exactly a light eater and this definitely made me full. The food is good and healthy, waiters are nice, and service is prompt. I would return here and recommend it as well.

When I think vegan, I think healthy. When I eat here, I don’t feel healthy. While I think it’s a great option for vegetarians and vegans, I don’t think the food is spectacular or healthy. I’m a sucker for crispy noodles and food in general, so I got the crispy chow. It was flavorful with the cilantro and mushrooms, but I didn’t like that the noodles were greasy. On a separate occasion, I ordered a crispy burger. The patty was crispy, but I couldn’t get over the greasy bun. It was so soggy from the mayonnaise that I ate the patty by itself.

It’s been almost 5 years since I wrote my last review, and my thoughts are still the same! When a restaurant is consistent with their service and food, that’s when you know you’ve hit the jackpot. Five years ago, their food was so bomb. Today, their food is still bomb. Just wanna say thanks for providing us vegans delicious food and keep up the good work! I am now within walking distance. Muhahahahhaa.
