We are visiting from out of town and randomly checked out this place. The atmosphere is upbeat and the food is delicious! Get the Star Wars Roll… you won’t regret it. AND our bill was unexpectedly much lower than we expected ESPECIALLY with all that we ordered.

Despite the good reviews, I was disappointed by this place. The food wasn’t terrible but not fantastic either. We ordered 2 appetizers, which I think were forgotten because our sushi came first. We waited for about 15 minutes when they finally came out. The service is nothing special either.

When you go to a sushi place that serves Krab with a K you know not to expect the best sushi but this place surprised me. My husband and I were visiting many of the local bars this past memorial day weekend when I suddenly became very hungry. We were walking to our next destination when all the 50% off signs caught my eye. As we walked in we were welcomed by everyone in the restaurant and were immediately seated.
I ordered the Alaskan roll as well as the Star Wars roll. My rolls came out very fast and I was surprised at how fresh everything tasted. They were even nice enough to add a mini flag on the Star Wars roll in respect for Memorial Day. How sweet is that ??? My husband got the Gyoza wontons that were filled with beef instead of the normal pork which thrilled him but as I do not eat beef I was unable to enjoy them with him. This place is definitely a place to stop by and check out if you are in the area and have a sushi craving.

I love sushi kuchi what are the best sushi bars in San Diego. I’ve been the others around the County. They don’t add up to this place at all. We come here with my daughter to enjoy lunch at least twice a month if not more staff is very friendly and it’s a great atmosphere. Kevin is our favorite sushi chef. But all the sushi chef are fantastic and make wonderful sushi. Food is fantastic and wonderfully to eat

I don’t recommend this place. The reason why is because it has the most horrible sushi I ever tasted. Only one person makes the sushi and he’s so slow at what he does. I had to wait with my at least 25 minutes for my order of spicy tuna rolls. When I tasted them, I just wanted to throw up. I feel terrible for wasting my money and time for nothing. I do not recommend this place at all.

Honestly the best sushi I have ever had! The service was awesome! Only one server for the whole place and she was amazing! I will definitely be coming back!

I always come here when I take walks on the beach in pb. They have a 50% off menu and 99 cent sake bombs all day! Delicious nigiri and sashimi.

I have never had such fresh sushi until I came here! The prices are amazing along with great taste! Out of the four rolls each one was just as amazing!
Make sure to try their Star Wars roll !!

My husband & I absolutely love this place! It’s amazing food for a great price. The staff if always friendly. They have 99 cent Saki Bombs. I mean, what more can I say?! This is our go-​to sushi spot whenever we have friends visiting from out of town or whenever there is a birthday!

I love this place. I love the sushi burrito, the protein roll, and the Hawaiian roll. The people here are so nice.

Affordable sushi and drinks!
Their Rolls and Nigri are decent. I am not a fan of imitation crab, unless it’s in a deep fried roll. The Play Boy Roll, Tiger Roll and Angel Roll do not have imitation crab and it’s fairly tasty. If you are not a fan of raw fish; they serve deep fried rolls, I recommend their Stuffed Jalapeño Roll and the Star Wars Roll.
They have an array of drinks; Japanese soda, cold sake, wine and beers. Bottles doesn’t cost more than $ 15.95 and the sake bombs special is only 99 cents.
This place is fun and popular, It gets packed on the weekends. Parking is free for customers located behind the Sketchers factory outlet.

If you have your birthday here all the chefs dress up as clowns, drop the lights and it turns into a happy birthday dance club.
Sake bombs require you to lead the sacred sake bomb chant and even the staff will help you sing if you have introvert friends.
It’s cheap. Hell yes.
It says kuchi in the name. I love kuchi.

They have pretty good sushi here. I usually get their Salmon Teriyaki Entrée which only comes with 2 little slices of salmon with rice and veggies underneath the salmon. It is little food for $ 15. They give more salmon in the bento box than the entrée.
We came here for my birthday last year and the sushi chefs turned off the lights and put on strobe lights and clown wigs and brought fried ice cream out. They sang their rendition of Happy Birthday and it was really loud but fun.
So last night my husband took my mother in law and my sister in law out for dinner there to celebrate my sister in law’s birthday and THEY FORGOT!!! My husband reminded them 3 times to do it and they never did. SMH.

My husband and I came to Sushi Kuchi over 2 years ago for dinner one night and, after ordering a beer, left because we thought the prices were too high. DOH! Everything is 50% off, so this place is SUPER affordable. We are idiots. There, I said it so you don’t have to.
Well, I eventually came to my senses and I have to say, I like this spot! The Spicy Tuna roll is pretty good! I also ordered the ramen, which wasn’t that great, but there’s a ramen place next door. So, come here for sushi, go there for ramen. Lesson learned.

My favorite part of the evening, however, was the show the chef’s put on for birthdays. I know what you’re thinking… REALLY?! But yes, really. They turn off the lights and turn on the strobe lights, put on these awesome rainbow colored afros and sing along to a house-​music style rendition of Happy Birthday while banging on light-​up tambourines. It’s incredibly entertaining.

This sushi joint is getting four stars because of it’s amazing 50% off prices. I don’t know if it’s a happy hour thing, or an all day thing– but they had a ton of rolls 50% off.
I can’t even remember all the rolls we ordered but I know I had the spicy tuna. And it was SPICY. I love a good amount of heat, but this was almost too much for me. I had to ask for some cream cheese to cut it.
They are super friendly here, and cheer every time you walk in or out. I’d come again if I’m in San Diego.

This sushi restaurant is terrible.
From the service, to the food, to the ambiance. I wasn’t impressed the slightest bit.
My friends and I decided to come here last Thursday to try a new place. We saw that they had an all day happy hour and we figured we could get some food and drinks without breaking the bank. Right when you walk in you can tell this place has seen better days. The paint on the walls is chipping, the floor is dirty, and most of the artwork on the walls looks faded. It took us about 10 minutes for our server to even come over and talk to us. There was a group of girls sitting at the table next to us and the guy was just sitting there talking to them, not caring about the other tables around him. We ordered some saki bombs that took another 10 minutes to come out. The saki was ice cold and the beer tasted flat. I ordered the Bad Boy roll and it tasted awful. I took it apart and realized they were using pickled jalapenos instead of fresh ones. What kind of sushi restaurant uses pickled jalapenos. I couldn’t even eat it. It took us another 10 minutes to get our bill and get the hell out of there. I will NEVER be coming back.

Loved this place! Sushi was delicious and udon soup was great! The sushi chefs were super nice. They even wore wigs and danced for my birthday! :) would recommend everyone to come and enjoy! Great prices too!

We love this joint next to the beach. The atmosphere is always upbeat and fun. We usually sit at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs are always helpful and friendly. We order escolar sushi, bad boy roll, sushi burrito with alot of spicy mayo!!! They do have 99 cent sake bombs but we just prefer their draft sapporo which is only 4.50 for a pint. Dinner time there can be a wait but for two people the most we had to wait was like 15 minutes on a weekend. This place deserves 5 solid stars for their outstanding menu, price, and wait staff!
