We love this place! We got often and have never had an issue. Every time we go we’ve been greeted and the employees have worn gloves. One visit we got there about 5 mins after closing and the girl let us order. That’s great customer service. Not accepting cards, really? Is it that big of a deal?!? There is a Navy Fed ATM right beside it, and another one in the plaza over, and 50 feet from a Bank of America. Stop being lazy. They also give a military discount which is nice. It’s a no frills sub shop, you get what you pay for!

Drove from Santee to come here cause it was the ONLY place my daughter wanted to eat for lunch on her birthday! Great food and friendly service.

Just moved to the area and a neighbor recommended this place. The line was a bit slow which only bothered me because I was super hungry but it was well worth the wait. Love the family owned/operated atmosphere they were super friendly. This is honestly the best sandwich place I have ever been to.

One of the best parts about recently moving to Tierrasanta is this sandwich shop. DON’T be fooled by the name, it ISNOT part of the medicore chain you’ve had elsewhere. The 3 generations of women that work there are ALWAYS friendly and their subs are better each time than the time before! Seriously, I would eat here everyday! Get the garlic sauce and add oregano… you won’t be sorry!

INCREDIBLESANDWICHES! Never mind the prices, never mind the long lines at lunch time– this shop is worth it every time. I don’t even bother with chain sandwich shops like subway or jersey mikes anymore! Their tuna sandwich is perfect every time and the staff is always sweet as can be. I love this deli and I know I will always have the most delicious sandwich when I walk out the door. Thank you submarina #2!!!

I came here with some other parents after a baseball game. The sandwitches taste good but they only put about an 1⁄8 inch of meat. I got the Italian and it literally had one slice of ham, once slice of pepperoni, one shaving of prosciutto and one slice of cheese. The lack of meat combined with the $ 10+ price is pretty dissapointing. I’d say 3⁄5 stars. Nothing special, just the definition of average. I am also deducting a star since none of the workers wear gloves. While waiting, I observed 3 female workers prepare multiple sandwitches, ringing up customers at the register, handling change and even showing a customer to the bathroom. Gloves were never worn and hands were never washed. That’s pretty gross and seems to be not in compliance with basic food handling procedures. I can’t believe I’m the only one that has a problem with this! I am also deducting another star for the fact they charge .75c for a debit card transaction. This practice has already been outlawed in several states and is just bad business overall. The card companies charge businesses a couple percent but yet on an average transaction of $ 10 this place is charging 7.5% and making a profit. Cmon you have plenty enough business to lose the lame card fees!

Made my pregnancy cravings!!! It was so delicious, made my whole night the girl that made my sandwich was the sweetest! So I will definitely go again because of her and because the fact that it was way better than subway!

Seriously the best sub sandwiches. They the price of a typical sub but you definitely get a lot of food! Don’t waste your time at subway!

The sandwiches here are very good but a little on the expensive side. Very casual«in and out» atmosphere w friendly service most of the time. Only sandwich shop in the area besides Subway which I think totally sucks.

Before moving to the Tierrasanta area, I asked in a local spouse group for recommendations for a good Italian/New York style deli. Having grown up in Massachusetts, I was spoiled with delicious breads and cold cuts. Submarina #2 was suggested(with the point being made that this is NOT part of the Submarina chain.) Having moved in and gotten settled, I decided to give this place a chance. I am HOOKED! I grew up getting my subs with just turkey, mayo, salt, and pepper; I have come here 3 times in the past two weeks for this very sandwich. Their customer service is so incredible, and the location always smells delicious when I walk in. I am SO thrilled to have found a GOOD Italian style deli out here! They’re a little pricy, but it is totally worth it(and is comparable to the delis I grew up with. My only«complaints would be that it can be a little slow sometimes, but that’s only because they’re so popular that there’s sometimes a line! The other would be the 75 cent credit card charge. I love this place and I will most definitely be returning often!

Amazing! I got the 9″ spicy Italian and it’s the bees knees! A bit pricey but I’d say it was well worth it. My sandwich came to $ 10& some change. Super nice gals working the counter as this was my first time I was indecisive, she didn’t rush me she explained the most popular & asked me what kind of stuff I liked to help me find the right sandwich! I’ll be back again.

The location is near my office so I went in with a coworker. The owners are very friendly. This was my first time ever being to a submarina but my coworkers sandwiches always look amazing. I’m not one to pay for a sandwich that I can make at home. But I figured why not try it. The lady was super accommodating because I asked for egg mixed into my tuna. All was good and the sandwich was good too. I just can’t pay $ 8 for a sandwich. And granted I knew I’d pay extra for the egg but it was only 1 egg. The service was great if you’re up for a great sandwich go here but be aware it’s pricy.

This is definitely the only sandwich shop for me. Everyone there is a joy. Jessica always makes a fire sandwich and leaves you happy. With the fresh ingredients and freshly sliced meat, you can’t go wrong. Oh, try their new garlic sauce… BOMB. With a good place like this to eat, I don’t know why anybody would ever go too a place like subway(ewwwwwwww).

Gotta love a family-owned, local place like this. Been a regular since moving to Tierrasanta in 2010. The sandwiches and service are fantastic! Best egg salad in San Diego!

I don’t know what medication John forgot to take, but pretend his and any other negative reviews don’t exist… mostly because they’re invalid and not true in my experience. Jessica helped me and my daughter(she makes the best sandwiches), she is always upbeat and positive! She even let me know about what new stuff they had today(it was delicious of course). I love the vibe there… everyone is always happy, the food is always good and you get your money’s worth for your sandwich. Since moving nearby this location I go in often and am NEVER disappointed.

Credit cards accepted. With 33 years of friendly service and a personal commitment to providing the freshest quality ingredients, Barb and Dena continue an amazing family tradition of providing the best sandwiches in town. No assembly line sandwiches here. The food is great, the service friendly, and the girls are a hoot! Drop in if you’re looking for a great sandwich!

Here I am at this place again because it’s so good. I walk in to a lady whom I’ve never seen before now, cleaning the counters with a rag and some spray. I waited for her to wash her hands and she didn’t! She asked me what she wanted and I told her. She proceeded to make my sandwich while sniffling over everything. She gave me a rude look and attitude when I asked her if she had fresh avocados because the one she was putting on my sandwich was completely brown almost black inside,(she says the boss told her they were fresh). I’m completely disgusted and will officially not be returning at least not when she’s working. If I was rude I would have walked out but I know I won’t be eating this sandwich. Worst customer service ever. Waste.

They do not take credit cards. Don’t worry, if you forget this fact, you can read one of the many homemade signs hanging up. The shop smelled bad, maybe it is the smell of fresh ingredients… but I thought that it wasn’t worth the risk. The credit card issue is a choice that they can make as business owners… but I think that a lot of people make the choice to shop where it is convenient… In the late 90’s it was a real bummer if a place did not take credit cards… in 2015 it is almost humorous…“They must be joking” you may think to yourself… nope. They are serious. Don’t worry… a Subway sits right across the parking lot.

The sandwiches at this place are very good however it is more pricy. You defiantly get what you pay for though id say its worth the price. Much better quality than subway. The customer service is okay… nothing to rave about. MYBIGGESTCOMPLAINT is the fact that they don’t wear gloves which makes me not want to come here anymore. Yes they wash their hands but after the touch the glass to open where the meats are, touch the meat slicer. Invest in some gloves, its really unsanitary I don’t want your hands all over my lunch.

Customer service was amazing! The lady who was working was beyond nice and friendly! You can tell she really likes her job, and she cares about her customers! I ended up having to go to this location after the one off of Aero drive decided to close at a random time — I must say it was totally worth the initial inconvenience. I would honestly drive to this location every time just based on how nice the person who was working was to me and my daughter.
