Recently my heater broke in my living room, and i had to make a claim with my home warranty company(First American). The first company they sent out looked at my heater for a second and said it was broken and would need to be replaced with a whole new heater and thermostat since they no longer make the type i had in my house. they wanted to charge me all these excessive fees to cut holes in my wall and install a new upgraded heater. my insurance would only cover the cost of the heater and none of the extra fees, leaving me with about a 500dollar tab after all was said and done. I was perplexed and could understand what my insurance was for, seeing that they werent covering very much and i was getting taken advantage of by the heater company since i didnt know anything about heaters. I started to see if there as another opinion i could get on this outside of insurance and I came across Samuel and SA heating. I spoke with Sam on a thursday evening, and he was at my doorstep the following day on time and ready to work! I was excited that he also came after hours since i worked til 6pm. When he arrived he explained everything to me and started to check out the heaters. to my surprise he said the heaters were just fine and didnt need anything except a good cleaning(which insurance also doesnt cover). He said he would get all cleaned up for me and not to worry about the cleaning charge this time!!! He was very honest and sincere, and im excited to find a heater/air guy that i will use and recommend for everything going forward. If you need your heater or Ac looked at, Sam is the man for the job!!! Thanks again Sam you saved me a lot of money and heartache!

I highly recommend any one NOT to use their services. From my experience with them, it appears to me that all they care about is getting my money, but not fixing my problem. Here is my story. Our heater in the attic has been having problems ever since we moved in last December. We had home warrantee through AHS. So they sent one company first, we paid $ 60. They cleaned the flame sensor and it worked for a while. The problem re-occurred after a couple months. Basically, sometimes, mostly in the morning, the heater won’t turn on. The thermostat seemed to be alright, we could hear the«click» sound most of the time when the temperature drops below the target. Sometimes cycling the heat/off button on the thermostat would then start the heater, but it’s getting worse and worse. We thought we should ask some other company to take a look, big mistake on our side! AHS sent S.A. HVAC San Diego. They were supposed to call us to schedule the service appointment. They didn’t call the next day, I were a little anxious without the heat, so I called them up. Luckily the guy picked up the phone and he seemed flexible and agreed to come between 6:00pm and 8:30pm one of the weekdays(since I didn’t want to take time off from work). The guy came at 8:30pm, that’s ok, we were not complaining as it’s still within the promised timeframe. So, he went up the attic, and then came down and explained what(he thought) the problems were. He said the heater needed«servicing» just like a car needed oil change. And the original installation was not done right, there were gaps in the ducts that needed sealing up, etc etc. He tried to sell me the«servicing» and I asked if that were covered by AHS. He said it’s general maintenance and not covered. But he said he could give me discount from $ 200 something to $ 135, because he was so generous. I thought, alright, if he could fix the heater and make it more efficient, I would pay the money. So, he then went on with his work up in the attic and finally had it done. That’s all good. He tried to sell me other stuff too, like how the original installation was messed up, and he could come back and fix it for $ 500 or so. He asked if I were satisfied with the service, I said I didn’t know if the problem would reoccur, but I were satisfied at the point, thinking that he fixed my heater. He asked me to write a good review when I had time. I said yeah, if he really fixed my heater, I thought, I would write a 5-star review for him, why not. Here I am spending 30 minutes writing a 0-star review! A couple weeks passed by, and the heater problem once again reoccurred! I called AHS and placed a service request. Since this is within 60 days or my original service, S.A. HVAC is supposed to come fixed it without charge. I placed the service request on a Wednesday, I called them on Friday to try to schedule the appointment, voice mail. I called AHS, they called S.A., voice mail. Since then I’ve been calling S. A and AHS multiple times, they all ended up in S.A.‘s voice mail box! I could only guess that he either not receiving any calls or he selectively not returning my calls because this is a 0-dollar service request! Then the following Wednesday or so(after one week!) I finally got to talk to this guy at S.A. HVAC(probably because I was using a work phone no.?) He asked if there were people in the house right then, I said no(both my wife and I work). I said I would like evening appointment(just like the original request). He said he was out in the field, and didn’t have his schedule with him. He would call me back that evening, when he got back to his office. I thanked him and said I would look forward to his call. That night, no call. Next day, no call. I waited another few days, and finally gave up on these guys. I called AHS to complain, and AHS sent another company. That’s after 10 days of my service request. Later on, I found out that their practice is very much similar to another HVAC company of the same name in San Francisco. Not sure if they are related. This is the link to the reviews I am talking about:
