Aside from having very nice staff they have a great variety of both pharmacy items as well as unique gifts for children and adults. I have had only great experiences here and love being able to support local small biz.

By far the best, thorough, prompt and friendly pharmacy I’ve experienced. Being family owned makes a world of difference. Staff always take on the extra mile without any hoo ha and stock all the necessary items plus more, which you would expect at a pharmacy. The best secret is this is where you find the quaintest and cutest last minute gifts for anyone in your life!

Most unprofessional pharmacy experience ever. We’re from out of town and had a doctor call in a prescription for us. When we called to check on it, they said it was ready. When we arrived, they had no idea who we had talked to. Pharmacist seemed to be high. Not kidding.

On vacation to favorite place San Diego and sick. Dr wants to know who to call it into and this is the place. They were so kind and helpful. Efficient at using our insurance and fast. This is a great family friendly drug store and I wouldn’t go any where else in SD!

This is a very nice little drug store. But I do have two gripes. One is that they never have ALL of my pills. 8 out of 10 times, I have to come back the next day for them to give me the rest of my prescription. Which is very inconveinent and very irritating!
My 2^nd gripe is that even if I call my prescription in that morning, it’s usually not ready when I get there in the later afternoon. So I have to stand and wait, which is not good because I take care of my 93 year old mother. So I sometimes don’t have the time to wait, which defeats the purpose of calling it in.
But the people there are lovely! They couldn’t be nicer or more helpful! They have very pretty gifts which they change around so you see different merchandise every time you go in there. They also have a nice selection of greeting cards.
Overall it’s a wonderful little store. They also have a much larger store down on Rosecrans, but this one is right by my house.

I could not be a bigger fan of this place! The pharmacists here are knowledgeable and friendly, they have saved us doctors appointments and are so calm and informative! We consistently come back for fantastic advice. The location is awesome, right next to Fresh and Easy and Peets, they will have what you need and be very, very nice!
If you are looking for 41 brands of toothpaste, head to Walgreens, but if you want to feel like your pharmacist cares about you at all, this is where it’s at. In particular, Michael is fantastic! They also have a cool assortment of little things you’d find at a shop like candles, etc, etc.

We love to support worthy local businesses, and this place is a perfect example of why. You can go to a gigantic chain pharmacy where you sit with your fussy 8-​year-​old in a sterile waiting room while they find and fill your prescription, or you go to Cabrillo where the friendly staff know you by name, have your prescription waiting, and have a huge range of fun items for kids to peruse that make your daughter wish it would’ve taken longer.
The only knocks are obvious ones: it’s not the place for you if you want to choose from 75 brands or toothpaste or if you need to go in the middle of the night.

This remodeled Point Loma Cabrillo Drugstore is a sister to Shelter Island Drugstore. I ran into Fresh & Easy this morning later than I normally do and popped in to check out the drug neighbor.
What a very nice drugstore this is. Beautiful wood floors, high-​tech lighting and the fragrant smell of candles up front by the cashier. Really love all the pretty wind chimes displayed on the front fixture. The pharmacy is all the way in the back and the physical layout of this store is very long and narrow. Still it looks like a good addition to the Point Loma Marketplace Shopping Center.
I will say that the free delivery they offer for prescriptions is a very helpful
thing-​especially for the housebound. I took care of a rich elderly lady a few years ago and she got all her prescriptions home delivered from the old Cabrillo Drugstore that used to be up here. There was never any problem and it was absolutely so convenient.
I took off one star because I think it would behoove them to open up earlier at 8:00 a.m., when all the workers and students are running into Peet’s Coffee for a java fix and Fresh and Easy for something to eat.
