Mama Mia Pizza

Really like the Mexican pizza! Establishment is small and clean. Staff is polite. I found that trying to find info or menu on mama mia website was not an option, It just gives info for TJ locations. I just really wish they had online ordering as most of the time their phone is busy.

Pizza is good here, especially the bread. The bread has a sweet taste which blends in pretty good with the salty cheese and marinara. You must try the Mexican pizza and add chicharron. A very unique flavor worth the try.

i lived in delsol forever and always drove by this place but never tried it until today, i ordered a large pepperoni pizza over the phone and as i went to pick it up it was coming out the over hot and ready i loved it!
i got home ate it and man it was good i have to say i regret not coming here before

Mexican pizza is my go to. specials are decent. Staff is friendly and pizza is always done on time. Happy customer

I have seen this pizza parlor for the past few years but was hesitant to try them out after reading the few Unilocal reviews posted about them.
Damn was I a fool to judge a place based on others comments.
I loved the pizza and they are priced more fairly than the rest of the other pizza places in the south.
Ordered the Spanish and it was delicious with the chunky slices of tomatoes and bell pepper while the chorizo meat was used instead of sausage or pepperoni.
The cheese and dough were okay but the pie could have used more tomato sauce. I believe they have the option of wheat dough or I might be mistaken with another pizza shop nearby.
Only wish they had added real sliced mushroom to the pizzas instead of canned mushrooms.
This was more of a 3.5 star pizza but I rounded up.

It’s okay pizza not my style only came cause a few friends wanted to try something different from the other pizza places. But the one we did like was the chorizo pizza and the pepperoni pizza was good too. So yea not my favorite but eh if I crave something different I’ll cruise by.

Not as good as the TJ locations but still tasty. Good specials and decent staff. Try the Mexican pizza, as well as the calzones. Cheap and good.

My husband and I eat there last night. The service was rude. The lady working there was about to take our order and in the middle of ordering the phone rang and she acted like we weren’t there. Then told us 15 min for a medium pizza took them 45 mins and they finish two orders that was behind us. We will never eat there again

Pizza it’s ok been a born and race in tijuana I do remember that amazing pizza and service they where know here THE SERVICE SUCKS people don’t smile at you don’t care if you are waiting still for 15 minutes even do you order your pizza and they call back to confirm with you the didn’t have change for large bill didn’t get a receipt thinking to my self monkey business? The manager that was there care more about flirting with the girls then the service really disappointed about this place wont come back again after all I really care about Mexican business been a hot here in San Diego but they have to think what type of service caliber is the expectation thanks

Being from Chicago we take pride in our pizzas so I’m always skeptical when it comes to California’s take on Pizza. Its usually pretty bad and the ingredients make no sense. That being said this spot is actually pretty good. I ordered a bbq chicken pizza. The crust was likely baked and the sauce had a real good flavor to it. The chicken was cut a lil too fine though. It was almost like crumbs of chicken instead of slices. Restaurants usually do that as a way of tricking you into thinking you have allot of a portion when in fact you have a small fraction of a normal portion. Its ok though the pizza over all was pretty good. I will definitely order from them again. Im not a fan of the $ minimum for delivery. There minimum is $ 15 when most restaurants only require a $ 10 min. It seems kind of excessive when you consider majority of there patrons are within 15 mins drive.

This place has great food! I especially love the Mexican pizza and their pepperoni pizza. No negative comments on the quality of their food or their very friendly employees.
However, they have messed up on my phone orders a few times. They either don’t write down the order correctly or they forget to write it down entirely. So when I get there, I end up having to wait 15 minutes for my order to be ready because it was not placed properly. Other than that, 5 stars.

This mexican pizza was like nothing I’ve ever tasted. Amazing flavor! I could eat this weekly. Crust is perfect, toppings are plentiful. Meats and peppers and beans, Oh my!

After reading so many Unilocal reviews raving about the «Mexican Pizza,» I had to try it so I brought my boyfriend and a friend to check this place out. Since I noticed that there weren’t any pictures of food for this spot yet, I’ve posted a photo of our pizza for reference (

PIZZA
I don’t know what to say. The pizza looked very promising, but lacked flavor in my opinion. All 3 of us agreed that it was generally bland. My boyfriend bought some chipotle sauce and ranch to dip our crusts in, since those things aren’t free. The sauce didn’t do much to make it taste any better. Overall, the pizza was at least fresh and it tasted okay.
ENVIRONMENT
You’ll find that Mama Mia Pizza is a small little place in the corner of a shopping plaza but easy to find because of their huge sign. We chose to sit in the booth seats in the corner since we would be a while. The seating was generally comfy but had a small tear in it. The one who served us our pizza seemed polite, but there’s really no service offered there. We had to keep getting up to ask for water refills since the water is behind the counter. The look of the place pretty much fit the bill of a typical fast food pizza place. It was nice that they let us hang out for so long though — we were chatting it up for a while!
VERDICT
I was a bit disappointed in how bland the pizza was, and the décor was nothing special. It might just be our personal palates since everyone else on Unilocal seems to love the Mexican Pizza so you’ll have to just go to see for yourself. :] A-​OK: 3 stars!

I think this as good as it gets for mexican pizza and wheat pizza. Its pretty much the only place nearby where I live that sells wheat pizza which is why I love it here. The ingredients are fresh, good amount of everything, spices, ingredients, sauce. Not greasy like pizza hut, would really recommend as a healthy alternative.

This place has got to be the most amazing find I have made in years.
Situated in a small plaza in San Ysidro, I would usually come here to buy shoes or even hit up the Burger King/​KFC in the plaza… I saw this place open up a while ago, but never paid attention until last night when my oldest brother had some delivered for dinner.
I. DIED.
They have a Mexican Pizza… and this isn’t your typical shit you see at Taco Bell — THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!
It’s a pizza… but instead of tomato sauce, they use beans — pinto beans. Delicious frijoles like the ones off momma’s stove. On those delicious frijoles, they put cheese, jalapenos, onions, and crumbled chorizo… Spicy, zesty, delicious chorizo. It sounds alarming, but I ate three pieces in less than five minutes.
I can eat other kinds of pizza from this place [because their pizza quality is actually fantastic. It’s not as dry, and their ingredient quality is better than Pizza Hut [perhaps it’s the personal touch].
If you are in the South Bay of San Diego, and you are within their delivery range [or you can simply GO THERE], I sincerely recommend this place. It’s not even 9 a.m. and I’m craving more of that pizza.
