H2 — The flat noodles with chicken«to go.» I asked for spicy… nothing. The other ingredient missing was taste, flavor, or seasoning. It was bland as could be. Disappointed. If I were eating there, I’d send it back, but I brought it back to the office. Won’t be back.

I’ve only eaten here a few times(once for lunch and once for take-out dinner), but the quality of the food seems to be pretty good. PROS: Conveniently located in the food court area near BevMo Food tastes fresh and authentic Large dining area Clean CONS: Prices are reasonable, but still not as cheap as a lot of other Vietnamese restaurants

That was a really tasty meal. It seems that my old Phở joint has closed and the new owners have not only redecorated the place, but they deal out some tasty dishes! Typically, I start with Phở, but today I went for the Lemongrass chicken which I devoted in less than ten minutes — spicy, oniony, & lemony with every bite. I’m definitely coming back to review the Phở, and I hope it exceeds my expectations like the chicken(it was soo good!!) Service was friendly but slow. That will. probably improve with time. Worth the stop if you are craving Vietnamese!

In my opinion, the restaurant seemed a bit gloomy because there wasn’t much lighting. The phở was just average, nothing special. I got the Phở Tai, which is the rare steak. The service was efficient, but along with the waiters, our table was constantly visited by at least 5 flies. I wouldn’t consider myself a germaphobe, but if a fly is constantly landing on my spring rolls and his buddies are exploring the bean sprouts for my phở…*sigh* All in all, it’s a decent vietnamese restaurant, but nothing really stood out for me to come back. Eat it if you crave it, but let’s be real, there’s plenty of better(tastier, more cost efficient) Vietnamese restaurants in this area.

I love the customer service here! It’s rare to find down to earth vietnamese restaurant owners and staff in San Diego. The owner and his workers pay attention to detail when it comes to making sure you are happy with your meal, refilling waters, and owner was very personable by talking to my husband and I about where we have eaten viet food in the past and giving us plenty of future dish recommendations. The owner is incredibly friendly, polite, respectful, and patient. The restaurant is very clean and has modern décor. They can seat over 100 guests. We had our order taken within a minute of sitting down(I went on a Sunday morning with little people there). I ordered the bun rieu noodle soup(tomato shrimp tofu noodle soup) which was quite tasty. The broth has less of a tomato taste and more of a shrimp savory taste, which I love. My husband got the Lavang noodle soup special that has pork and fishball meat. The broth was tasty and the proteins were flavorful. We would probably more likely get the bun rieu in the future because of our preference. Husband just wanted to try something different. There was no msg in both of our noodle soups which is a HUGE plus because my husband and I cannot take msg in food(we get dry mouths and get sleepy and literally would have to sleep it off for 1 – 2 hrs. I like how Lavang cooks from scratch and does not cheat you with the easy way out msg ingredient). We are going to come back to try the phở, special fish dish and hanoi special! Currently until 9÷30÷15, there’s a 20% off Unilocal checkin deal if you order $ 30+!! There is plenty of parking here too!

Replaced Phở Viet Cali. New owners, high priced, mediocre food. $ 7 for a Banh Mi? REALLY?! I ordered the grilled chicken banh mi, was not good at all. The meat was salty, over-marinated, and the bread was super hard. Phở was disgusting, broth tasted weird, the meat was chewy and bland, and way too much noodles. For the soft opening they had two coupons: free egg roll with the purchase of $ 30 or more OR20% of order of $ 30 or more. So basically you’d need a party of 3 or 4 to meet this requirement… then share the ONE free egg roll among yourselves or play rock paper scissors to see who wins the free egg roll. Service was slow for not being busy, but friendly.

This place has to be the most clean and peaceful Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to. The decorations are fairly nice and everything appears to be sanitary and bright. Food presentation wise, not much to go off of but it was neat. Surprisingly, the phở I had wasn’t overpowering. Restaurants have a tendency to make the broth too salty but everything was mild in flavor which allowed me to freely add sauces. The Bun Cha Hanoi had great flavor and my family thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s more expensive that other dishes since it’s listed as one of their specials, but it was worth the extra dollar or two. The only reason why I gave La Vang four stars was because the service was EXTREMELY slow. However, the new owners were extremely polite and welcoming; something that’s also very uncommon with my experiences at Vietnamese restaurants. They made sure to make us feel comfortable and were always trying to improve our meal. Although it’s a bit pricier than most Vietnamese restaurants, it has a more diverse menu and the service is outstanding. If you’re willing to sit down and take time for a delicious meal, this is the place.

Give this place 5 stars for the best place of Vietnamese food. A menu of wide variety for your choices with a reasonable price. My favorite one is «Cha ca Thang Long» its better than anywhere else. Love this place, I will come back for my favorite and try some new dishes.

Came here on 4th of July, just noticed they were open. The menu is extensive and slightly higher than most Viet places in Mira mesa. But they put a lot more effort in running a clean and friendly place. Nice change from places that are often too rude and not clean. We ordered the Bun Thit Nuong(vermicelli with Bbq pork). The pork was delicious and tender, and the flavors were perfect. Better quality of meat compared to Phở Ca Dao’s! The order of eggrolls was tasty, and the nuoc mam dressing is one of the best I’ve tasted in a long time. We also got an order of fresh Spring Rolls(Goi Cuon), which had generous potions if shrimp, pork, sprouts and mint. These spring rolls were as good as the fresh ones Mom makes :-)! The owner recommends I try the Bun Cha Hanoi, the Bun Rieu and the grilled fish next time, so I can’t wait to try those. I would recommend this place to friends and family for the quality of the food, the friendliness of the owner and staff, and the nice atmosphere.

Came here because I heard there was a new owner. The waiters are really nice. I got HS10 Crispy pan fried flat rice noodles. They were pretty good! the noodles were a really nice crisp, and the sauce was tasty. I’ve only had these noodles at a Thai restaurant known as rad nah, so I’m glad they had it at this Vietnamese restaurant. my bf got the Clay Pot Rice and he said he liked it a lot. The rice was a good crisp as well. The chicken wings and calamari are pretty tasty too. the calamari was a little harder than normal but the breading for it was pretty good.

My group of friends and i came to try out this place on a sunday evening. We did not expect much because we read the Unilocal reviews some were negative but we decided to give it a try, especially because Lavang menu seems to have a wide variety of Viet food compares to other vietnamese restaurant. I ordered the bun cha ha noi which is a «cool» vietnamese dish .it’s Vermiciline with bbq pork and meatloaf very well marinated and soaked in a special sauce. My favorite part of this dish is a good amount of fresh salad on the side. It likes a perfect combination of comfort food and healthy food. You have to try it to know :) My friends ordered cha ca Co Ngu which is also a cool dish came with grilled fish on a hot skillet with fresh baby dill on top. It also came with Vermiciline and fish sauce and a plate of salad. I tried it and it was super delicious. I think lavang did a really good job on the bun cha ha noi and cha ca Co ngu. I actually crave for the taste and want to go back very soon.

Service is a little slow or maybe it felt that way because I was rushing to get bCk to work. Friendly staff. Really on top of the water game. We ordered all appetizers. They took longer when we first ordered them than when we asked for more. Or maybe they could already see the fat girl in our faces and had a batch ready. I had the spring rolls and the grilled shrimp rolls. Lovely. Full of flavor. Their peanut sauce was a different color than I’m used to. Like, green ish. Is that normal? Tasted the same tho. The shrimp roll came with an orange sauce. No idea what that was. Anyways. Right in front of my job so we will be back.

Yuck. That’s all I hafta say. The quality and taste of the food was very disappointing. The staff was nice/friendly, but that’s it. We ordered phở, broken rice, vermicelli and iced coffee. The only acceptable thing was the broken rice dish. But it wasn’t anything extraordinary. How do you mess up viet iced coffee? It just didn’t taste good. I miss the old place. Also, the phở broth tasted bland. like, salt added to water and that’s it. And the BBQ pork in the rice vermicelli was super salty. Sad, but won’t be giving this place a chance again.(BTW, writing this after a 2nd visit.)

We’ve been here about 4 times now, VERY friendly family(new owners) and staff. Interesting menu. New items since they first opened. We just had the chicken clay pot the other day and it was great! I’m gonna try the hot pot tonight! We have been to EVERY phở place in Mira Mesa and Convoy. This place may cost a little more than your average phở place, but the service and food quality is above the rest and I highly recommend you try them. I must also say that this is the ONLY phở place where the noodles are not a solid clump! They make each bowl of noodles when you order, and I guess the others have theirs prepared in advance due to the solid mass! Give this place a try, they deserve a chance. Check out the menu for some unusual items, like goat, which is actually very tender and tasty!

New owner? New name. $ 9 for a bowl a phở. Really? There was nothing special about it. My Pinoy had his large special and I had the Phở Ga, as we do at every phở joint. He said the soup was good but the meat was rubbery. My soup was completely bland — I think I dumped nearly half a bottle of fish sauce in it to make it better that it ended up being fish phở. And where are the chopsticks and spoons that are usually at the table? If I need to ask for them, please don’t make me wait. Owner’s daughter(i think) was sitting at one of the booths. We like the tv when we go out to eat. But not if we’re forced to watch the Disney Channel. No thank you. And I get it. I grew up in the restaurant business. But my parents would never let me sit out there like that and interfere with the floor. She needs to go back there and chop some onions like I did when we were her age. They have some pretty interesting things on the menu that I’m not used to — Filet Mignon, goat, and others. Pricey. That’s fine. Those items are different, exotic. But that’s no excuse to jack up the price of mediocre phở. I don’t know how you’re going to compete with the other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Maybe you should glam up the place a bit if you’re going to charge that much.

It’s okay. It tries to be a premium Vietnamese restaurant but there’s nothing really special about the food. We got the chicken phở which was really salty and rice noodles with bbq pork which was good but nothing super special. Don’t think I would come back only because there are better and cheaper phở places in Mira mesa.

This restaurant has a new design that tastefully feature the beauty of Viet Nam. We ordered Bò Tái Chanh(Steak Ceviche) and Egg Rolls for appetizer which were excellent. For the main dish, we got the Hu Tíu La Vang(dry version) and Bò Lúc Lac(Shaken Beef). The Hu Tíu La Vang was awesome. There is no other restaurant in San Diego that has a better dish for this Hu Tíu La Vang. The Shaken beef was tasty. Their signature dish is Hu Tíu La Vang so I highly recommend this dish. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Edit: I came back to dine at another time and was not impressed. Food was mediocre and price was high. I think there are better restaurants just down the street that cost less. The only upside is that this restaurant is clean. _________________________ I believe this restaurant replaced Phở Viet Cali . The staff here seems really friendly. I came by about a week ago before their opening and they informed me of their soft opening on Sunday(10⁄12) where they were giving out free food. I will have to come back to see the place functions as the weeks roll by, but so far restaurant looks newly renovated, clean, and has a friendly staff. My only concern is the location. It’s in the corner of the food court near Fresh and Easy and its kind of hidden by some trees. It can be hard to find at first…
