I’m very picky when it comes to food and nothing matters more than the authenticity of the food. This restaurant has the best Vietnamese food in San Diego, I’ve tried just about most Vietnamese places in the county and have decided to only come to Song Huong for my Vietnamese cravings. Prices are more than reasonable and I have never received bad services before. I love this place!

I am definitely a fan of their Banh Cuon but this review is strictly on their food and nothing else. The struggle is real when you want food but you do not speak their native language. This place is quite hidden behind Vien Hung but it is worth it. They make their banh cuon fresh and you can order them by LBS or a party tray if you want. They have plenty of other Vietnamese dishes as well. Give them a try if you are looking for some delicious Banh Cuon!!! :)

I was ordering one Togo order and waited a very long time for my order. What made me give them a 1 star was a family of 4 came for dine-in 10 minutes after I ordered and their food came out shortly after they ordered. I waited almost 40 minutes for my Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio. I sat there pretty patiently for 40 mins and didn’t even ask once why they took so long. However, I was very close to cancelling my order. The lady apologized when my order was ready and said«it’s because we roll our eggroll fresh and that’s why it took so long». I was thinking it’s only one eggroll. I’m patient but it just sucks when you see bunch of other people get their food first because they dined in. Their food was decent, but I suggest dining in if you want better service.

Everything about the place is still just as good as my previous review except this time around we ran into a couple unique issues that we hadn’t had before: — neither of the two ladies that were working there spoke a lick of English lol. But through the power of pointing and charades we were able to transcend language barriers. and service was still great… once we could get the message across. — they didn’t accept credit card today. They have a sign that says the minimum charge is 10 $ and in the past we’ve been able to pay by card but today was different. Thankfully we were able to scrounge up enough cash(no idea how we’d communicate that… or handle that lol) and trying to mime/charade to get the check/bill and pay is harder than you’d think haha. But these issues aside, the food was still delicious. Just might have to be more patient and remember that a smile goes a long way :) And just want to note that when we were having trouble communicating, they were willing to call someone on the phone to help us figure it out.

Had phở and spring rolls. Horrible, got rare steak and tripe and only got fat. Ordered spring rolls and one of the tails was left on the shrimp! I will not be back, phở was tasteless even the noodles. Flys everywhere

I stood at the counter for 5 minutes, 2 employees passed me in that time, I said hi to each and they just kept walking… This is 11:30AM on a Thursday with only 1 other customer in the store… I guess if you don’t speak Vietnamese you aren’t welcome here

Location: It’s on the left side of the vietnamese super market. You have to go all the way around to see it Décor: Like a phở place. Food & Drinks: We got the bun bo hue and the combination vermicelli. Both were extremely good and satisfying. The noodles get a little dry because we get it to go. It was very filling and for a great price! I was really surprised and have been coming back ever since. They package it to go very nicely too. One side note is that their english isn’t very good. So look at picture Jadey J. put up and just place your order by number. Happy eating my friends

I love this place ! It’s owned by a super sweet family. The owner talked to me, puzzled about her lost password for Unilocal; she was concern because the prices on the menu on Unilocal does not reflect the actual prices in the restaurant — so keep that in mind ! HOWEVER, That doesn’t mean the actual prices are expensive — it’s still fairly cheap ! I got both of these gigantic plates of banh cuon for $ 14. ITWASSOGOOD. I was born in Vietnam and ever since I came to America, I have yet to find an awesome place that sells authentic banh cuon– until I came here ! I have to say, this place is better than the ones in San Jose(in NorCal). The portions are HUGE, they give you a lot of cha lua(the meat) and they are vey generous with the ground pork within the banh cuon. Definitely will come back and post more pictures . Update: I am now a regular at this place !

You know a local spot is legit when the OG’s go there! My mom always gets banh cuon from here. So I’ve always gotten to-go for this place, but actually hadn’t dined in until recently. The workers here are very sweet and the food comes out pretty fast. With the exception of our egg rolls however… they had forgotten about those, but they made it up by making them super fresh just like from home! I always get the banh cuon here. The veggies are fresh, and I love the plate that comes with nem chua(pickled pork) and pork meatloaf. I suspect they are able to have such fresh veggies since they are right next door to Vinh Hung, the supermarket. I’ve been to some other places and ordered their banh cuon, but it usually not fresh, soggy and breaks apart when you pick up with chopsticks. Not this place, it tastes freshly rolled up. My fiancé ordered the bun bo hue and he said it was really good! I tried some of the broth and it tasted freshly made. Oh and they do include some of the congealed pork blood… he only had one piece and took it out though(he’s not a fan). This is definitely one of my favorite local Vietnamese places to eat at. Not glamorous inside, but the food makes up for it! And… our bill was only $ 19.00 =)!
