The large carne asada bowl for 6.99 definitely caught my eye. It comes with a pretty good portion of meat. The meat was very tender and flavorful unlike other places with dry and bland meat.

In a word– HORRIBLE!!! I wanted a carnitas burrito so I asked what else came in it & the lady said just the carnitas. I was surprised cuz that seemed like a whole lot of meat. I decided to get a bacon breakfast burrito as it had more(& standard) ingredients. Boy, was I disappointed. Everything that could be wrong was wrong. Now I understand that a carnitas burrito wouldn’t have too much meat cuz they hardly put anything inside their burritos. They use the standard, large tortillas but it was hardly filled. There was so much excess tortilla that I tore off a bunch & they wrap the burrito loose so it looks bigger but you learn quickly that it’s not. I’m pretty sure the eggs were made from a batter like from a school cafeteria & the cheese tasted similar to Velveeta… not good. To make matters worse, they use the tiny salsa cups so you have to either fill 20 of them to get enough or get up 3 times to get more & the salsa bar is tiny so you’re waiting 5 minutes for others in front of you to fill up their 20 salsa cups. Such a disappointment!

Since the E. coli break out at Chipotle you need a plan B… I wanted a burrito bowl but thought maybe I don’t wanna get sick before the holidays. My coworker always get a burrito from this place and it humongous! So I thought I check it out. Located in the courthouse food court it’s surrounded by other options like subway and Chinese food. What caught my eye was the carne asada bowls for $ 6.99. What a great deal! Ordered to go, went back to the office. If had a little over half full with carne asada, ¼ rice and the other ¼ salad and cheese. It was filling but it was okay, decent for food court food. The meat was bland. Plenty of it but bland. I poured a ton of hot sauce and salsa on it to give it some flavor. They should marinate their meat longer. An okay alternative if you want a shit ton carne asada bowl.

If I could I would give these idiots a no star! I have been there a dew times and they just can’t get my order right. I have been charged for potatoes and hash browns in my burrito and they are never in there. How hard can it be? You simply charge me for the extra but always fail to put in my extra. You are a total rip off! I should have never given you a second or third chance, but I was the fool. I will NEVEREVER go there again and I will CERTAINLYTELLEVERYONENOTTOGOTHEREATALLEVER!!! How hard is it to get a breakfast burrito with potatoes? I mean it says on the menu that it is one of the ingredients of the breakfast burrito. Today I ordered a hash brown burrito, silly me to think that there would be a hash brown! WHAT A JOKE!!! I HOPETHISPLACECLOSESDOWN! NEEDLESSTOSAY I AMFURIOUSWITHTHIERSERVICE! IDIOTS!

This place used to be good. Until some Asian dude took over(yes an Asian dude owning a taco shop) and now it sucks. He tried to improve the menu by putting them on flat screen tvs but that just made it more confusing because you have to wait until it cycles through pages of items. my friend ordered a burrito and they forgot to put the meat in it! He brought it back and they offered to put it on the side! What a joke! I ordered a mini breakfast burrito. they charged me $ 3.75 and it was barely bigger than a 99 cent burrito from McDonalds! The previous owner would make them a little bigger. The hot sauce cups are a joke. The owner definitely is trying to cut corners wherever he can. I would skip this place and go to Lucys taco shop a block east.

I work downtown and I was in a hurry, so I stopped in the Hall of Justice food court for lunch. I was hungry and thought I wouldn’t be hard to please, but La Cocina Loca reminded me that even if you’re hungry, gross food is still revolting. I ordered the Carne Asada Torta, With drink, it was about eight bucks. The large roll was good and the only redeeming part of the visit. However, it contained such a sparse amount of meat, I think maybe they ran ran out while making my sandwich. The meat covered no more than thirty percent of the bread. That’s alright, it was full of fat and grissle and overdone to little charred nuggets. It’s like the old joke: «The food was bad, but at least there wasn’t much of it!» I have to say, I don’t understand the number of good reviews about this place on Unilocal, except that you don’t have much high society coming through the courthouse. As far as service, they’re rude and alloof. Not much here.

Was running through town and wanted some breakfast that was nicely priced and trust me that’s what I found! I got two sunny side up eggs, two pieces of toast, and two pancakes for the price of $ 5. The cashier also gave me some guacamole for my toast(don’t knock it till you try it) no extra charge. Will definitely stop by here again if in the neighborhood.

This place is a solid four stars. Ordered a cane as ads burrito for lunch. Price six bucks, came out quick, and it filled me up, oh and it tasted great. If I wasn’t worried about the calories would try the crane asada fries. Oh and the quality of the meat was good will do again when I’m off my diet

Came here before when they were called Fiesta Mexican Grille and the customer service is just as bad maybe even worse. Ordered food requesting sour cream and after they finish making it they then tell me «should we have told you we’re out of sour cream?» Yes you should have… Bad customer service and have heard from co workers the food is just as bad as before but smaller portions, much better places to eat downtown.

I decided to give it another try. Big mistake! They don’t do well with taking phone orders. I placed order at 7:05 in am and arrived at 7:25 to pick up. They had not started my order yet. Sorry, I’ll find somewhere else to go.

When I first started working downtown I LOVED going to this place, but I guess they have a new owner now – I think his name must be Scrooge, because everything is smaller and cheaper-feeling and much less authentic Mexican. They used to give you free chips with an order, and now you have to pay for them AND they’re super stingy with the salsa. It seems like they’re using the money they’re saving from being chinsy on the salsa on flat screen TVs and silly outfits for the employees. When the girls up front started wearing tank tops though, that was the last straw for me. I don’t want to see the armpits of someone preparing my food. Gross. I avoid it at all cost.

Located in the mini food court inside the courthouse. Perfect place for breakfast. Lost of really good choices plus fresh salsa fresca. I enjoy the breakfast torts for $ 4.50 and only .75 more to add a second meat. The only downside here is that sometimes it takes them too long to make your order… calling in beforehand is the way to go.

Located in the food court at the Hall of Justice, this Mexican place was offering a deal on a breakfast sandwich and drink for $ 3.50. The sandwich is a grilled egg and cheese sandwich, with shredded carrot, cabbage, and onion mixed in with the egg. And for fifty cents extra, one can have sliced Spam added as well. Now, it’s not that easy to screw up a Spam, egg, and cheese sandwich — but La Cocina Loca almost did. I say almost, because the Spam was sliced so thinly you can barely taste it. The saving grace were the veggies — they added flavor to the sandwich. And, you gotta admit the price point hits the mark. Too bad the guacamole on premises doesn’t even look like guacamole(it looks REALLY watered down), and the Bang! fountain drinks aren’t even working. But the prices are reasonable enough here, making this a semi-viable option in downtown SD for lunch.
