I’ve been a fan of Jack’s for many years. Even before my ex-wife worked at Foodmaker HQ as a research dietician. It’s a good San Diego company, the food is oftentimes better than expected, and I am almost over my grief about their discontinued nachos. The current wife and I decided to do a Fast Food stop, and Arby’s on Rosecrans was our destination. Alas, it is now a closed location, with«Available» signs all over it. The Fast Food urges continued as I drove farther along Rosecrans, and spied Jack. The restaurant was very clean, and not very busy. The order taker was cordial. We both ordered a featured item, the Bacon Ranch Combo for five bucks. Tasty, very tasty. Toasted and buttered sourdough bread, slices of bacon far thicker than necessary(and mouthwatering), a decent-sized burger patty, slices of tomato, and an aioli-type dressing. The fries were also good, very fresh and not oversalted, as is the case so many times. The combo also included a soft drink, refillable. Arby’s was gone, but Jack filled the bill. Been a fan for a long, long time.

I bought a Jumbo Jack and chicken sandwich using the drive through. I had no trouble with the order even though it was during lunchtime, which is probably one of their busiest times.

I was going to LA for a family get together on the night before Christmas. I just wanted a quick dinner and my favorite places were closed. I remembered that I hadn’t some two for one coupons. I ordered the club chicken through the drive through. I said at least three time«without bacon». It said it on my receipt«no bacon»!!! Before i ate the first I checked if it had bacon. No.bacon. The next morning not a very good breakfast I took out the second one. I was almost done I put it down to take a drink… Alas bacon fell out. My reason I don’t eat bacon is a religious one. Angrily I returned and spoke to the manager Lea, and I told her that I didn’t eat bacon. Her response was«You just. noticed». Needless to say that I flipped out. Isn’t there an expression«Which is worse to see a worm in your apple or a half of a worm»? Would Jack in the Box face legal action if I had a food allergy…

Prices can be high but they have awesome breakfast meals. I love their iced mocha. I usually get a breakfast ham croissant. The hash browns are a bit oily and I like McDonald’s but just pad it with some napkins and you’ll be fine

I went at 4:00 a. m in Über to go get food. I give this place chance after chance to get my order right and it wasnt. They don’t care what the customers say, they just tell you that your wrong and they’re right. I asked for #5 .I was craving the Ultimate Cheeseburger combo meal, no mayo, just extra pickles, lettuce, mustard & ketchup on the side. Harris who was rude and hung up on me several times said she saw her cook put cheese. If it had cheese in it and was the right order I wouldn’t of called, and c9mplained, but her rudeness and her hanging up on me I feel a district manager should know. This is not the first time this happens, and 6 months ago I gave up on this restaurant constantly getting my orders wrong. She end up charging way more for a buttery burger and she said I’m wrong she’s right. I asked for a refund. She was rude on the phone, and unprofessional not even asking to exchange it. I was so upset that I took Über for this. I want a full refund and this time I’m DONE with Jack In The Box. The employees don’t care about you and they’re right your wrong«attitude» will never take them anywhere. They lost me as a customer and they will lose others as this was the last chance. Harris the employee said her #5 is different then what was on the screen I was looking at. Who’s fault is that? It’s they’re fault! Never going again, only for my refund! I rather give ½ a star and the wait was long as I was the only one in the drive thru line. If Harris doesn’t like her job or others there don’t be rude, don’t work there! The only thing she confirmed about the order was about some tomato sauce which I never heard of. Like I said I was the only car in the drive thru so she should’ve got my order right.

Don’t go to jack in the box. I asked for a taco but with chicken and they couldn’t mod it. she said it was soy meat bc I told her I don’t eat beef so I got it and then looked up the ingredients online and the beef is just cut with soy, I guess to yield more product for a cheaper food cost. That’s gross bc first of all I don’t eat beef and if I did I would surely want it to be pure not some nasty mixture that’s advertised falsely as vegetarian soy product. I was furious and never ever going to one of these chains again cuz that’s bullshit.

Negative stars. Worst experience ever. We were forced to go here because many restaurants were closed on account of July 4th. And it was difficult to find parking at the open restaurants in the area. We got the cheesesteak sourdough melts. The meat in it was the lowest quality — very fatty and rubbery. I tried the mango mayhem drink — they mixed minute maid mango smoothie mix and sprite in front of me, and that is apparently mango mayhem. I should have used that money to get minute maid directly! First experience with any Jack in the box chains. Will never go back to this chain ever again.

The outside has very limited parking spaces and they’re a bit small. The inside is TINY as well, so that kind of sucks. Their soda machine is behind the counter so you have to ask for refills every time. Boooo!

I had breakfast at this Jack in the box this morning and was very satisfied with my meal. Great taste, really good coffee and quick service. The people are also very nice and very efficient.

I sent my young children in with money to buy some food and the cashier short changed them several dollars. When my kids questioned the change they received, the cashier gave them a little more money yet they were still short changed several dollars but they didn’t realize it at the time. When I learned of the theft that evening, I called and requested to speak with the Manager but he or she was not there so I left my telephone number and requested a callback which I never received. I went to the restaurant the next day to get our money back, which I did, but the Manager was not there once again when I was told he/she would be. I’m still waiting for a call from the Manager and an apology from the now identified cashier. I suspect she won’t be fired or reprimanded for her dishonesty. I don’t plan to ever give business to this company again. There are much better restaurants than this. This place deserves a zero star but unfortunately, one star is lowest the rating scale goes. I hate people who come to this country legally or illegally and steal from our citizens !

Going through the drive through — the person was barely audible, spoke jibberish, and got the order wrong several times. When we pulled up to the window — the same person who was taking orders, was also handling the money, and delivering the food. We sat for a good five minutes while she took other people’s orders. I was trying to ask her if she took credit or debit — which she ignored. So I swiped my credit on the outside while we waited. Suddenly she briskly reached through the window and grabbed my card away and swiped it. I tried to tell her no — as it was the wrong card and I already swiped the other — but she ignored us and took several other orders. When she finally finished — I tried talking to her — but she just waved us off and told us to move around the side and wait for our food. We waited again for another five minutes. Now I don’t want to eat it. The kids and I love jack in the box — but I will never go to this one again! They need a better system and management. Having only one person do all orders, money, and food handling is positively primeval!!! I’m not even sure it is allowed under health code regulations. Yuck!

I love this place. Good, friendly, and fast customer service. Great place to get some late night food even if you want breakfast. Also all large drinks are a dollar!

I can’t believe that I’d ever say this about a fast food restaurant, but they are, by far, the bestest and cleanest, Jack-in-the-Box that I have ever been to. I was visiting San Diego for a long weekend, and staying at The Pearl(motel) down the street a couple of blocks away. There weren’t necessarily any other food joints or Starbucks close by, and I came here on a whim. Their coffee was HOT, and fresh, and hook-line-and-sinker, that’s what brought me in every day for the rest of my trip. Everything was always freshly made, and tasted as such — from the hot apple pies, to the breakfast croissant, to the chicken salad. The dining room — CLEAN, and well-swept, which I NEVER see anymore.

I lived near many different fast foods that i’d stop at over the decades; many places, many fast food chains, different frequencies of visits. This Jack in the Box is by far the best, most consistent, fastest, friendliest, and whatever-iest location that I have ever known. I frequented here between 2000 – 2007, so if it was certain people/managers(usually it was a shorter, older lady working there). Good job, Jack. Make ‘em all like this one!

This is probably my favorite American Fast Food joint… I like almost everything on the menu… But definitely avoid the $ 1.00 «Chicken» Sandwhich… GROSS! I think the patty was made with finely ground feathers, claws, beaks, and whatever leftover chicken parts they had. I ate one of these right before ballet class… I definitely wasn’t looking as pretty or as light on my feet that day.

Our intrepid hero’s desperate search for food lead him to this last resort locale, where he had to shoo away pigeons(which also lined the awning, threatening to drop a load on unsuspecting customers) to get to the front door. Inside, a(homeless?) man was complaining about why it took so long to order two tacos and some unsavory characters were comparing stab wounds and tatoos. Upon examining the value menu, our hero was curious as to whether the 2 tacos for 99 cents or the one super taco for $ 1 would be a better value buy, so he ordered one of each in addition his combo meal. Upon receiving his meal, our hero was dismayed at how small the«large» taco was compared to the 2 small tacos offered on the value menu. Using his thumb as a point of reference and grade school arithmetic(thank you Ms. May and Ms. Johnson for your multiplication drills), our hero approximated that the two smaller tacos offered about 1.547 times as much square area of taco at a comparable thickness to the super taco. While doing mental multiplication, our hero noticed that the person behind him in line had elected to eat just outside in the open air instead of inside. This was a mistake for the outdoors patron, who was soon surrounded by pigeons that jumped onto his lap and brought to mind a scene from Resident Evil 3. The pigeons sprang upon the outdoors patron, pecking at his food with a vicious addiction-fueled rage caused by years of scavenging Jack in the Box leftovers. Sensing an opportune time for a getaway while the pigeons were occupied, our hero grabbed his combat shotgun to fend off any possible attack and ran out of the joint… tacos unfinished. PROS: — Cheap eats with a wide value menu selection CONS: — Pigeon death squad — Homeless customer base — Slow service

in 1977, both of my fresh out of high school parents got jobs at this jack in the box. then they started doin’ it.(EW!) then my mom got pregnant. then they got married. then my big sister was born, three and half months after the wedding. three and a half years after that, i arrived! without this jack in the box, i wouldn’t exist. that’s either five stars or no stars, but since i’m in a good mood about existing today, i’ll go with five.
