Ivory Thai Cuisine

The chicken pad Thai is freaking amazing here. I am Thai and I can make Pad Thai and this is almost better then mine! I haven’t tried anything else here but if your looking for a good pad Thai dish, this is the place to go!

I order from this location regularly for delivery. The dish that I am basically writing this entire review for is the Pad Thai. It is extremely well prepared almost every time and even with multiple proteins worked in. The noodles are always fresh and the the sauce is generally the right kind of spicy-​awesome.
As one additional dish factoring into this review, the fried rice is extremely good. It has a subtle sweetness to it that is amazing. And a side of just the basic fried rice is $ 3, so that is fantastic. You can of course also get more entrée-​style fried rice with proteins and veggies for more, but that $ 3 side is a solid option for just the delicious rice.
I’ll finally add that the delivery guy has always been really nice when dropping the food off. Nothing life altering in the exchange, but always pleasant. That is worth something in my mind. Additionally, this is by no means a guarantee but they tend to blow away the estimated arrival by a good clip. Can’t argue with that!

We ordered carry out and I had to call to check on the order and get didn’t even start it. Once the food arrived at our home it’s was skimpy and traded awful. We called the restaurant to express our disappointment and the women who took our complaint was rude and quoted the entrée s different prices than what the Unilocal app showed. So we paid double money for less food that tasted awful. Do yourself a favor and don’t use this restaurant.

Good green curry and shrimp springrolls. Haven’t tried the pad thai yet, but if its good, this will be my new go to spot!

Worst place I’ve ever been to. I’m not one to post a bad review if the server gives me an attitude or anything else like. But this is hands down a place I would love to call public health to. I came on my lunch break. She asks what we would like to drink & I order water. Taste like straight tap (understandable) so I ask for lemon or even lime. She says she has none. This is a Thai place that serves pad Thai. You mean to tell me there is no lime or lemon. Then we get our food, I ordered green curry. It was so bland. Just disgusting. I don’t waste food. One of my chickens had black stuff on it. When I asked for pepper she gives me dried peppers and black pepper in a container full of dust. Didn’t wipe it down or anything. I feel this whole thing was a joke. She obviously is trying to run down the place. I will never come here again. Nor recommend anyone come here. The spicy noodles were made with spaghetti noodles. Not word the money. Pretty pricey for a rundown Thai place.

This is my go-​to Thai food place in PB. It’s super close to my house and really good. I’ve been here many times and have been satisfied every time. The place itself is small and very welcoming, the food is delicious and there’s enough variety to satisfy everyone’s different tastes. If you want delivery they’re great for that too. Super quick and I had to wait to eat my curry it was so hot still. I always get the fried wantons with every meal I order and it’s always a good decision. I highly recommend this perfect little gem.

I’ve never actually been to this place. However I have gotten take out and this place it was the bomb. The delivery is a little slower than some f the other places that I have ordered from, but when the food tastes that good — it’s fine. I have ordered the pad Thai and the red and green curry. All great!

I found this spot based on proximity to Campland on the Bay. This was the one if not the worse dinner I have ever has in my life!
The drunken noodles were made with spaghetti pasta rather then the flat rice noodles. I requested no fish sauce in all the dishes the girl looked at me like I was stupid. The sweet and sour chicken was boring and tasteless. The chicken pineapple curry fair to say the least. The place is filthy and a I would not recommend this place! Never going back I will save you some money and your health, BTW the health card was not posted. The prices are high for what you get this meal for 2 people $ 31.79! I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Okay, I came up with a new grading for myself: I’m in hotels a lot. If they deliver, then they automatically get good reviews! if the delivery is free even BETTER. And this is one of those places. I usually get the Tom Kha, hot. with other things like the basil chicken or yellow curry… This place was decent, I wasn’t crazy about the large chunks of tomatoes in my soup though. But, hey I’m not in Thailand at the moment.

Ivory thai is always consistently good take out. I wouldn’t recommend eating there because the atmosphere isn’t great.
Any one of their dishes rivals some of the fancier thai places in town. I’ve always been happy with my orders especially the pad see ew and wonton soup!

This place is more of a fast food Thai place. It’s not really a sit down restaurant with great ambience. If you can think of it that way, then this place has yummy food at reasonable prices. It’s not the best Thai in town, but for what it is, it’s good and I’m glad it’s available to me. Bonus! Delivery available. My family usually orders the pad Thai, yellow curry beef and spring rolls. The food is good and their delivery is usually super fast. This place is kind of like Super Wok, although that’s Chinese food and I have to admit, their food is delightful. but it’s not a sit down place either.

Wow the food was so good. I ordered cream wontons and Kee Mow Chicken. Both outstanding! The place is nothing to look at (kind of divey) but it was just really, really tasty!

Been here twice. I have ordered the yellow curry lunch special, Tom kha soup and the Tom yum soup. The lunch special was a good price except there wasn’t that much chicken in it. The spring roll was a little greasy but it was good. The Tom kha soup with tofu is alright. I don’t like how big the chunks of tomatoes are. The Tom yum soup is decent.

My husband and I had a groupon to try this place. Everything was going great, the food was good, and I was actually thinking of going back. But right after we left, the cashier waitress said «next time, if you’re not going to tip, you need to clean up yourself.» Yes it was my fault that I did not have cash to leave for tip, but was it really necessary to say that?!? Never going back there again!

Nice spicy noodles. The curry was a bit watery for my taste but wife enjoyed it. Nice place over all. It is a bit on the rinky-​dink quality for seating and décor but sometimes those are the best types of places. Could be a 5 star with some décor improvement and a thicker recipe for curry but I will leave that up to them. If you don’t mind venturing out of the nicer areas and into the rougher parts of pb, than you should try this one.

I’ve ordered food here before via the GrubHub app and finally decided to try eating at this place. San Diego was undergoing a heat wave at the time and thinking we could escape from the heat, we decided to eat here. It was a moot point though, since there’s no air conditioning, hence the three stars.
The flavors of the food are very good though. I ordered the Tom Yum soup, and it had the right amount of both spice and lemongrass. It’s often hard to find a balance. The fried rice was good enough for an Asian restaurant (although I admittedly in a biased fashion prefer to make my own due to use of Indonesian soy sauce). The Chicken Pad Thai was also very good. I tend to order the medium spice, which suits me just fine. The three dishes and a couple of drinks cost me less than $ 25 and fed two of us. Not bad!
This place is very fast when you order through GrubHub. Even though GrubHub will tell you an hour for delivery, they’ll deliver in under 30 minutes. It helps my friend lives close by and within a 10-​minute walk. If they added air conditioning, I’ll add another star!

Ordered to go pad Thai with veggies and tofu and it was better than most. My boyfriend and I got delivery and it showed up fresh and steaming hot, very impressed. I thought it was strange they didn’t have spicy levels 1 – 10 like most Thai places but I got their «extra spicy» and it was perfect for what I normally would order in the 8 range. The best part about it was the veggies! There was fresh mushrooms, broccoli, carrots and green beans all flavorful and freshly steamed. Maybe I’ve just had bad delivery in the past or maybe these guys just know how to do it right. Regardless, highly recommended take out quality here.

The place was dead at lunch time for a reason. I ordered the chicken larb to go after being frustrated from waiting for a half an hour at the Greek place up the street, which I walked out of.
Unfortunately I had no lunch and I had to eat quickly and this was all that was available not only was the $ 9 chicken larb disgusting it’s served like a salad and I’ve never seen that.
It didn’t taste like chicken it tasted like vinegar and sour meat.
I tried to eat a little bit in the restaurant (mind you no one was in there except the employees) they kicked me out and said that «I got my order to go so I had to eat it outside». I asked of they were joking, the girl said that they have «a strict rule you’re not allowed to eat your to go order in the restaurant».
WOW kick out the only paying customer. Smh. Never again, I highly recommend not coming here. The food or horrid and the customer service matches.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the garlic pepper beef from Ivory thai. It’s unlike any flavor I’ve tasted! Full of flavor on a bed of cabbage. Definitely a MUST try if you happen to stop in at Ivory Thai or get it delivered. Anytime I’m in the PB or La Jolla area I get my garlic pepper beef delivered! Typically I’m with my family so our normal order is as follows:
Garlic Pepper Beef– to die for everyone loves
Yellow Curry Chicken– I don’t think I’ve found a thai place that can make this bad. Always a good choice!
Tom Ka soup– my sisters favorite! I think it’s so so, more of an acquired taste
Spring Rolls– hit the spot every time
Chicken Pad thai– perfection with just the right amount of peanuts on top!
Drunken noodles– saucy deliciousness!
Haven’t tried anything else but their spice is right on! So if you love it crazzzzyyyyy spicy go for a 8 – 10 but get ready to drink 5 gallons of water! It’s ridic! I tend to get a 5 or 6 and it’s just right for me :)
