This place is super odd. Fortunately the product isn’t entirely diminished by the employees poor attitude. Bossman at my firm gave me $ 50 here so I figured I would go HAM on some ham. I ordered the classic honey baked sand which and the roast beef. For $ 5.99 each, the price is well worth the product. There’s a large amount of meat and the bread and produce are delicious. I also ordered a rack of the ribs. For $ 20 it’s not bad. Despite the great product, I don’t quite understand the attitude of the employees. They all seem reluctant to do their job and although they’re not blatantly rude, they definitely try to make you feel like you’re burdening them. Good food. Bad people. $ 5.99 here is infinitely better than $ 6(since they’ve done away with $ 5 foot longs) at subway. Just remember to get your food and get out… Because you know… Some people don’t like it when you ask them to do their job.

For $ 5.99, you get a humongous sandwich piled high with meat and fresh veggies. Pay an extra dollar and you get a combo with your choice of a side and a side salad. That, my friend, is one of the best deals in the area and you end up being full for the entire day. So much healthier than carne asada fries from next door ;) Plus, many of their sandwiches come with bacon. And I’m not talking 1 or 2 stripes of bacon that you get so often. I’m talking about a ½ inch layer of crispy, delicious bacon. What more can you ask for? Just be careful though, the sandwich counter closes an hour before the store itself closes(so around 5). They also don’t toast their sandwiches and after slathering of sauces, the bread itself can get ridiculously soggy and nasty if you don’t eat it immediately. I always get sourdough bread and end up having to throw away the bread pieces ever so often. it’s a total bummer because i’ve been known to eat nothing but sourdough bread with butter for days on end. So either go with a thicker cut of bread or eat it as quickly as you can. I’ve always received good customer service but I’ve never been there during the Christmas/Thanksgiving rush and only purchased sandwiches. For a price that cheap, just give it a shot!

I’m giving a 2 rating only because of the negative attitude of the employees. When I called in my order five days in advance of Christmas Eve, the person on the phone was very impatient and abrupt. I was taken aback by the lack of courteous customer service. I hadn’t mentioned this to my boyfriend, however, after he picked up the order Christmas Eve morning, he came home and told me he was treated in a way that was terse and unnecessarily rude. Very disappointing. That being said, the food was good.

I have been to this location a couple times for lunch and holidays, but after my most recent visit I felt compelled to review. The food is almost always incredible, but like others have mentioned the customer service is terrible. The manager made it seem like my request for a ham platter(that was on display) was an inconvenience and made up an excuse about a required 3-day turnaround. Then, said she wouldn’t…errrrrr couldn’t make it at all due to the holiday rush. I then called a different local location and they were more than happy to take my request and said they didn’t know of a required 3-day turnaround. I definitely recommend Honey Baked Ham for their food, but do yourself a favor and patronize one of the other locations that still care about customer service.

This place is ridiculously awesome for lunch and you sure don’t have to get ham. In fact, I don’t eat ham but someone told me to go here for a sandwich. I got one of their roast beef sandwiches with bacon and cheese on it with chipotle mayo in a Hawaiian role bun. The sandwich was huge as always and the side of creamed spinach was great as well as my side salad all for 7 bucks. This is like a hidden secret amongst greet San Diego lunch sandwich spots. Seating outside but you may want to take it to go.

First Id like to start off by saying this could and woulda been 6 stars and let me explain why I only put 3. After my friends raved about this place and how tasty the sandwiches are among other things I figured I’d give it a shot! So when I walked in, there was one other lady in front of me and I was greeted by the cashier also she was nice and upbeat so I decided to check out the menu and find out what sounds good. Ok so what brought down the overall score was the girl with the tattoo on her neck making the sandwiches and how blatantly rude she was to your customers! When a customer walks through the door we shouldn’t feel like an Inconvenience to you and belittled because the lady in front of me didn’t know what bread you guys have or what kind of cheese you had. Yes I was listening… It’s your job to guide people and make suggestions if they’re having trouble navigating through your menu… I wanted to order more things but coming from the your employee who made me feel rushed and completely uncomfortable I decided to only do a sandwich. A++++ on the quality of meat and the overall taste of the sandwiches but honestly it’s highly unlikely I will ever visit this location ever again. Also may I add that the girl who was working the register was very kind and honestly the only girl who greeted me when I walked through the door, you had a total of 3 employees working yet only one found the time the greet a guest?! Anyways I hope others find this useful and I really hope the people at the top really focus on changing these things because God knows how much of your business is affected by employees like this… like I said before this review could have been 6 stars but had to take away 3 stars for the quality of service…

I used to come here regularly for sandwiches maybe 6 years ago. They were so good and full of that delicious ham, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. I came here Friday July 3rd maybe 30mins before closing and got the master chef salad. They have me the end of the week mixed greens. They were so brown and soggy I couldn’t even eat it or take it back.

Underrated deliciousness! I, like many others had no idea they have a full lunch menu. They have ham, turkey and chicken sandwiches. They also have salads and yummy sides like baked beans and cream corn. I got the smoke stacker on a croissant and they piled on enough ham for two sandwiches! My friend loved her cranberry turkey sandwich. Don’t go to subway or any other sandwich place. Honey Baked sandwiches are so delicous and are reasonably priced. Oh, and nice service too.

Who even knew this place made sandwiches? I thought they just sold hams. We were in the area in the morning and needed to grab a sandwich for later, and this place popped up as an option. We decided to give them a try and were very happy with it. The sandwiches were enormous! So much ham! We could have easily shared a sandwich, and we are not light eaters by any means. For $ 4.99, that’s a pretty sweet deal! If you’ve ever had one of their hams at a holiday function, you know quality is great. Only slight negative: the place is a little dated-looking.

We have been getting ham here for many years howevewr the last 2 purchased have been disappointing. WHATHAPPENEDTOTHEHONEYGLACETHATYOURAREFAMOUSFOR? With out the sweet crunchy crust it is just a grocery store ham that is way over priced. Bring back the old school hams.

Amazing! The best deal out there. Huge, filling, delicious flavor, turkey and ham sandwiches on crescent bread(my favorite choice) for $ 4.99. I crave this place. I only wish their hours were longer so I can enjoy a sandwich from here at any time. $ 4.99 is a steal for the quality you receive.

It’s the best Honey Baked Ham I have ever tasted and their Turkey Breast makes my mouth water. The turkey is always moist and full of flavor.

I had ordered a quarter ham to go with our Thanksgiving meal a week before the holiday, and was advised to pick it up on Monday the following week. Good advice from the employees, because I could only imagine what the line would’ve looked like as Thanksgiving encroached closer and closer… Yes, the product is a bit pricy; my quarter ham was about $ 30. But when the ham is tender and succulent as it is at Honey Baked, it is worth every bite! While the location is a bit on the small side — I had to park at the adjacent mall — the building itself wasn’t too bad. The store displays advertising various soups, sides, and add ons aren’t too intrusive, and the employees are very helpful. And, while the line for pickup wasn’t too bad(I spent 10 minutes in line, tops), at least there were samples of turkey, ham, chutneys, and cheesecake available for those of us waiting in line. I want to go back to try their sandwiches; those offerings looked really good! Too bad the deli closes at 5 pm, leaving my only option as a Saturday(unless I get out of work early).

Pretty disappointed – ordered a 10lb honeybaked ham and when we opened it, it was already carved into!!! Discovered this when we opened the wrapper… We deserve a refund! Never had this issue at the Escondido store. You need to maintain better standards if you want to keep customers coming…

I had ordered a ham for Thanksgiving and picked it up yesterday. Despite my initial dismay at the line snaking its way around the building, I only had to wait about 15 minutes before making my way to the counter. Very organized and efficient… and I even picked up a turkey breast while I was there. Honey Baked is not cheap, but they produce a good product.

I’ve never been here for lunch therefore my review is solely based on my most recent experience(11÷17÷14) as well as my past experiences, which are always around the Holidays. I have to agree with some of the other reviews in that both the exterior and interior of the store are somewhat of a flashback to the 70’s. The only negative thing I have to say is that the outdoor picnic area and its tables need to be scrubbed as cleanliness and appearance play a big role in the food industry. In all the times I’ve visited I’ve never come across a rude attendant(that’s why I keep coming back). I also have never been forced to get a larger than desired ham(guess I’m lucky). In fact, there have been occasions when the attendant searched out a small ham since I don’t have many ham lovers at Thanksgiving. If you want a ham in the $ 30 range all you have to do is call in your order ahead of a holiday to ensure you get the size ham you want on the date of your desired pick up. You can also walk into the store well in advance of a holiday which I think is best(no lines). This year I decided to show up early for my ham. I also got a bag of the Ham Bone White Chile Soup Mix(for the bone and leftovers), hope it’s good. If ham isn’t your thing or you just don’t want to cook the store also carries turkey, beef, pork, condiments, side dishes, bread and desserts.

I looked at their menu and saw they had a ham/turkey combination that would be perfect for my family gathering. I called the store and the person who answered the phone told me they didn’t sell those combinations. I told the person that I saw the combination on the website. The person on the phone yelled at someone in the back and then told me they didn’t sell that combination. How strange. She didn’t even offer up any suggestions. I will not be going here anytime soon.

Holy cow! This is one of my favorite places to eat in San Diego. The best customer service I hav received in this city(and I work for customer service with a big company training employees). The food portions are big enough to fill me up which is rare for a still young and active man, plus the prices you just cant beat. I have never gone on the holidays because I prep right before them so I cant account for the crazy seasonal rushes, but when I go there is no line. The only shame is that this place is closed on Sundays.

There was no line… Very dead in here. I had heard quite good things about it actually. Ordered a sandwich to go. I got home, opened my bag, and there was mold all over one side of the sandwich(outer part of the bread). It was very visible… Very apparent… Plus they wrap these in clear plastic so you’d think they would catch something so apparent. So unfortunately after this I could only conclude they aren’t using ingredients that are relatively fresh and they(even on a very slow afternoon) aren’t paying attention to quality as they hand prepare a food item for a consumer. I did call to let them know but no one ever picked up… It wasn’t just a tiny spot covered in mold… It was the entire side of the bread. Inexcusable. Makes me wonder how long the other ingredients sit out. So far Boston Market hasn’t failed me so I will probably stick with that.
