Very friendly service, Rosa checked in with me multiple time while I was eating and even brought me a to go container before I even asked for one. Location is very clean and food was tasty.

I drive past this restaurant every day on my way to and from work. So this evening I decided to stop and try it out. All I can say is I was disappointed. Fatty bacon, green tomatoes and basically worse than I could make myself at home. Won’t be coming back to this overpriced mediocre wanna-be Panera Bread restaurant.

Jaycee, at the time, was our friendly server! She was patient and offered suggestions for our tastes. She also recognized that the family in front of us were taking their sweet to collaborate on what each wanted so she facilitated the queue and helped get our order in quickly! Food as excellent as usual! It was worth the short wait.

My boyfriend & I are regulars at this Boudin location! We absolutely love the atmosphere and customer service plus the food is always served in a timely manner! Our favorites: — Clam Chowder — Rustic Tomato Soup — Italian Classic — The Great Grilled Cheese — California Baguette Burger Being apart of Boudin’s Loyalty Program is a nice incentive. You earn(1) reward point for every dollar spent. For every 50 reward points accumulated you will receive a $ 3 off reward. Plus, free loaf of bread each month!

This shopping center is pretty busy so be cautious and patient when looking for parking. Today, I ordered the ½ sandwich and soup combo. I had the clam chowder and chicken pesto sandwich. The chowder was good and the sandwich was even better. The pesto sauce is so good! I pretty much finished everything on my plate. The service is great, too! The staff was very attentive and cleared our tables when they saw we were done. This was a great lunch for a cold day in San Diego!

I have always loved Boudin in San Fransisco. This location is a good local option. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you join their freqent rewards program you can also get a free load of bread each month. It is typically for their plain sourdough. You can upgrade and pay the difference. **note they will also slice your loaves of bread if you ask** Their soups here are delicious. Most people go for the clam chowder. However they have a tasty butternut squash soup that I love. During the holidays they offer up neat treats like holiday cookies. And turkey shaped loaves of bread. The breads are baked right here so they are super fresh. The parking is fairly good here too. I plan to keep returning for more visits.

Eating out every day can be pretty hard on your stomach. Today we were searching for a place that was simple, light, and filling. Unilocaled places around us and this place came up. Something about this place reminded me of being home, staff was kind enough to wait and wait until we finally decide what to order. Food presentation was good and appetizing. The California burger was delicious and I really appreciated that the bread was hard, never thought I’d say that but my juicy burger never got soggy. Everything in our salads were freshly cut, the spicy walnuts were awesome, and I like the spring mix that they used. Truly appreciate great food and service!

I LOVE their clam chowder and their sourdough bread! Hubby and I were craving clam chowder on a cold, rainy night. My husband almost convinced me to drive down the road to Red Lobster, but I objected! We drove in traffic(thanks to football season) just to make it here where we ended up waiting, and waiting, and waiting…(–½ star). It was also cold AF inside!(–½ star). There was only 1 server bringing the food out, which we found very inconvenient considering there were 3 – 4 people in the line. I think next time, I’m ordering to-go since I was freezing! The chowder is yummy and well seasoned. It does not have that canned and salty clam taste that SD-made New England clam chowder is known to have. BTW, they have cute(and giant) bread turtles! How cute! They also have goodies that looked delicious.

I love their sourdough bread bowls, it’s so fun to dip the bread top into their creamy soups. I usually get the butternut squash soup, can’t go wrong with that. Their grilled cheese sandwiches look amazing and I love that they put the calorie counts of food items on the menu. It’s nice to be able to make an informed choice about your food. Service is great, as well.

I like this location a lot and seems to be different in a lot of ways than the Boudin in the Fashion Valley Mall. I like that it doesn’t have a parking garage and is a bit more easy to get to if you don’t want to deal with the traffic at Fashion Valley Mall. (IMO) — There are different things I like about each locations. Service and attitude can be better here. I had the Turkey Avocado on a croissant for an addition charge of .75 cents than the standard Multi-Grain Bread they use for the Turkey Avocado. The presentation was beautiful but I thought the croissant was a little thin for my liking and it didn’t have the flavor I was looking for. It didn’t jump out at me like… THATWASDELICIOUS! I also have a bread bowl and my choice of soup is always the Rustic Tomato Soup and it comes with the Sourdough Rustic Croutons and Parmesan cheese. You can’t get good soup like this anywhere else but home. It’s my favorite and I always have to get it when I come here. MMMMMM! See you soon!

I haven’t been to Boudin’s in a while. It was my first visit to this location. They are well known for their delicious sourdough bread. I love their sandwiches and soup in a bread bowl. The other day when I dropped by, I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon along with the broccoli cheddar soup and a side salad. The grilled cheese was great! It was the highlight of the meal. It had perfectly melted cheese with crispy bacon on fresh sourdough. The soup was pretty good, it tasted fresh and was balanced, not overly cheesy. Salad was ordinary, nothing spectacular. There is plenty of seating inside and outdoor option as well. Service was good, the employee(Jailen) who took our order was friendly. The restaurant was clean with nice décor. I’d definitely return for soup, sandwiches, or just for a loaf of sourdough.

I can only speak of their sourdough and clam chowder and nothing else on the menu, because even if I did get something else, I don’t remember it hah… My sister and I sat out from 2 am to be one of the first 100 people to get a free year’s worth of bread and when we got coupons for 365 loaves of bread, you can bet we sure ate a lot of sourdough bread and had to get creative to eat those loaves and give them away as gifts. Mmmh I love boudin’s sourdough bread. The clam chowder is great and my bf and I like ours with black pepper and hot sauce! Sounded weird at first when he introduce that to me, but I can’t eat my soup without it now. Tips: — If you sign up for their newsletter, they usually send out coupons for 1 free 1 lb loaf of bread in a month — if you’re daring and if they still do this, whenever they have a grand opening or re-opening, they usually offer a free year’s worth of bread(1 – 1 lb loaf of bread a day) for the first 100 people in line — they often have BOGO free clam chowders!

We all know anything they put in the delicious bread bowl is well, delicious. If you would like your daughter who has finicky taste finish her whole plate of ceasar salad and a turkey cranberry sandwich, go here. She claims its her favorite sandwich ever. If you would like some Brie, sliced granny apples, fig jam to have a party on your taste buds, have the grilled Brie sandwich. There’s no buyers remorse here, everything is tastes how good you think it’s going to taste.

One of my long time favorite restaurants! The employees!!! They are sweet, helpful, courteous, and have been trained well. This is very important to me. Today, I tried the grilled cheese with bacon, and along with it –added roasted tomato soup for $ 2.00-, plus it was accompanied with a huge spring salad. All of it was delicious! When the order-taker was explaining to my daughter about the rewards program, she mentioned you get a complimentary cookie. Since I didn’t get a birthday cookie, I just said it -«Huh, never got one” — She asked when my birthday was, looked it up on my card, and do you know what she said? «Go ahead and pick out a cookie of your choice on the house!» I thought that was really sweet of her, not to mention, a kind thing to do. I posted my «chickie» cookie on the timeline :) This is the Boudin bakery I’ll becoming to from now on. I have eaten at this location three times, and every experience was just as good. Very enjoyable experience. Next time I’m going for their French Toast, looks yummmm…

Kudos to the customer service @ Boudin SF! Every time I’ve been to this location, the cashier has been friendly, and the food comes out hot & fast. Their menu has a wide variety of healthy options, which is always favorable when dining. They definitely promote their low calorie dishes! So I just want to brag about my experience that was encountered when coming in to dine very close to their closing time on a weekday. We were sitting down, enjoying our dinner and the cashier comes up to us and asks if we wanted a complimentary loaf of bread — I SUREDO! Free stuff always gets me going into a better mood! I’ve been to the Irvine location so I’m a huge fan of their burgers & pastries.

Date of visit: 3÷5÷2015 Scotty and I came here for dinner before checking out 85 Degrees. I’ve been to Boudin in San Francisco before, so I knew that their bread would be pretty good. My Dad is a fan of their clam chowder and almost always stops by for a piece of bread by UTC, so I decided to try their sandwich and soup. The shopping plaza that this Boudin is in is pretty big with ample parking if you’re willing to park a bit farther from the restaurant and walk. The main roads are pretty busy in the parking lot though, so be mindful when crossing the street as some cars zoom right through. Emy: Chicken Pesto Sandwich with Tomato Basil Soup. The sandwich was just okay for me because the bread was very hard and the sandwich was a bit lopsided. I was hoping that the sandwich would use sliced sourdough bread, but it was just a section of their thin baguette. Next time, I’ll probably ask for the sliced sourdough bread because the baguette scratched up my mouth(I know, I’m delicate ;)). The soup was very good other than the large amounts of cheese. I know this is a plus for many other people, but for me it’s a negative. If I come here again, I will definitely be asking for my cheese on the side. Scotty: Turkey & Havarti Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Basil Soup in a bread bowl. Scotty really liked her sandwich and soup, but felt like her entire meal had a bit too much bread(surprise, surprise). She is lactose intolerant like I am, but enjoyed her soup nevertheless. She was also very happy with her meal overall, despite the large amounts of bread. Scotty tried her hardest, but couldn’t finish all of the bread. On our way out, I was shocked to see that a whole family had left their bread bowls untouched(sans soup). I’m not a fan of wasted food, so it’d be nice to know that these bread bowls were at least composted, but that’s a separate issue that doesn’t really have to do with our visit. Overall, Boudin SF is like a Panera Bread that emphasizes sourdough bread. I’m not a fan of their baguette sandwiches, but the sandwiches that use the sliced sourdough bread are probably pretty good. Scotty and I both enjoyed the tomato basil soup so that was a nice plus, although the soup was a bit heavy on the cheese. If I’m in the area and not craving Asian food, I’ll probably go back, but it is definitely not on my «absolutely must come back» list.

New location! I must admit that this place is a bit of a drive but I do love the idea that we now have two locations to chose from, Fashion Valley and Balboa Mesa. Now tell me the truth, when someone says Boudin, what comes to mind? Yep, you got it… Clam Chowder. We do love our chowder in a bread bowl and clam chowder we got. The place is easy to get to, a few minutes after exiting the 805. The place is clean and the staff are super friendly. Just be prepared to wait in line when you order but not to worry the line moves rather quickly. The half sandwich and soup special is not a bad alternative if you want a variety. The place is great, come on down when you are in the area.

This is more of a 3 ½ stars but I rounded up because I keep coming back. I only found this particular restaurant about a month ago but I’ve been here several times because of the quality of the food. I’ve been to Boudin before and wasn’t that impressed, but after my first time here, I keep coming back. It’s located in a large busy strip mall. There is plenty of parking but hopefully you aren’t driving anything bigger than a Prius. The restaurant is quite clean, nicely decorated and not overly noisy. The booths/tables are generally clean if you are sitting down to eat. If there is a line, generally it moves fast. They are known for their clam chowder and from all of my friends, they find it quite extraordinary. My first time I had the Turkey & Havarti cheese sandwich and that is without a doubt my favorite. To start, they use fresh turkey and the bread is their signature sourdough roll. Slight mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato. I could eat this sandwich everyday! I’ve also bought bread from here to take home and it is incredible. I haven’t tried many other items on the menu, but I have no doubt it’s all just as fresh and delicious. I come here frequently with friends who don’t know about the place. Funny, there is a Panera Bread across the street and I imagine Panera loses quite a few customers. I would bet in a side by side«taste test» with Panera, Boudin SF would beat them out every time. Okay, to the manager: each time I come here, I order a sandwich and do not want chips or salad. This seems to be very difficult for many of the people working the counter. I’ve had some even get a little confrontational because I won’t accept the sides that come with the sandwich. I am well aware the sides come with the sandwich and by not choosing them, the price is still the same. So stop harassing me to take something I don’t want. 4 out of 5 people that take my order give me a hard time about this. I think when I say«I don’t want any sides» and after I acknowledge they come with the meal but I still don’t want them, you should leave me alone! Stop forcing things on me! Also, again, 4 out of 5 of the people who work the counter seem oblivious when there are people waiting to place an order. I’ve stood at the counter while someone rearranged bread or talked to a co-worker. And the same for a to-go order. I’ve ordered a sandwich to-go and I’ve seen it sit on the counter for several minutes watching worker after worker pass by until finally someone will bag it and give it to me. The workers here are generally nice but they aren’t very good at what they do. I’ve worked in fast food so I know this isn’t that complicated but yet they seem to make it more complicated than it needs to be here. But it’s the great food that keeps me coming back.
