I heard they will be closing up shop soon, which is too bad(for the employees). The cashier said the store will be closing and they will be losing their jobs during the holiday season. I bought a few items that went bad surprisingly fast. I bought a gallon of milk that was a week before it’s expiration date. The first time I opened it, it was spoiled and curdled. I bought some grapes that went bad really fast too — that is rare for grapes. Made me wonder if the quality of their products are going downhill as they are getting ready to close their store.

I’m thrilled to have Hagen’s in my neighborhood! My main complaint about Tierrasanta has been the low quality stores and now we have a store with high quality items. plus the national brands. I have to do a huge shout-out about the meat department. We purchased several Ribeye steaks that were so flavorful, we all couldn’t believe it! They were so amazing that I went back the next week and bought more… and I don’t even eat that much steak usually. They were better than Iowa meats even! I see several complaints about the prices on Unilocal.I shop at all kinds of stores including Wholefoods. The prices at Hagen’s’ are not more, it’s just that the quality is higher. Those prime steaks were several dollars per pound less than Whole foods and what the price per pound was in line with the quality. The Rosie Organic chicken is pretty expensive and I agree that I personally will forego it, although that particular brand is always that expensive at stores that carry it. Much of the fish is line caught and fresh and just as a reference, the Steelhead salmon was fabulous and only $ 9.99 lb. which is great for fresh line caught fish!

Sad. I miss Albertsons! The prices! OUCH! Y did they do this? The same products but @ a higher cost? The same employees, but now they have BADATTITUDES? trickle down effect I guess. . The lady from the old place who works in the bakery still, is pretty nice… Smart move to put an overpriced grocery store smack in the middle of a military community? ??? Dumb Lost our business

Unfortunately I will have to agree with most of the reviewers. Most of the products are the same and are at higher prices. You can find some of the same if you look hard enough but my biggest complaint is the meat section. Albertsons was my go to for meat and now there is no way I would pay 9 $ for two breasts of chicken. I’m disappointed that I will have to figure out my shopping elsewhere– it’s a good thing I have a Saters on my way home from one of my offices once a week.

I went to Haggen’s yesterday just to grab some simple quick items, only to find that their freshness that they hype so much about is just a loud of crap. I went in for bread, lunch meat, cheese and a tomato. Well to start off with I had to look really hard for a tomato that was not molded. I went to get lunch meat and those are $ 10 for even the smallest pack. Then the bread I had to search for a bread that was not already expired. For spending $ 25 on four things I am very disappointed in Haggen’s. Albertson’s was not the best but I would but them back over Haggen’s anyday. Also the workers there seem to be very disappointed in their work environment because not one of them had a smile or greeted anyone not even at check out. GETITTOGETHERORLEAVEHAGGENS!

The five stars is for the bacon selection, butcher & meats. I’m talking about a New York City throwback, thick cuts of a variety of bacon that is pure perfection. Prepackaged bacon & Steaks are GARBAGE! IT’S GARBAGE! Go get a pen & piece of paper… got it? Ok, now write a meat bucket list: Fresh Bacon & meats cuts from the old salty butcher at Haggens. When you taste it… you can thank me then. Otherwise the store is meh… the deli selection is lacking & the premade salads can’t compete with Vons. Prices are reasonable for the locally grown items.

Lets get down to brass tax. Im gonna cut deep Haggens and it aint gonna be pretty. Customer service is absolute garbage! If I could rate it less than 1 star I would. I’ve given this place a few chances by going in at different parts of the day and each time there are the WORST attitudes I have ever encountered in customer service. The checkers are put out to be doing their jobs, ringing you up with a the dead inside face the whole time. NO warmth, no «hows your day going» just pure assholary. Just called the bakery and talked to the bitchiest woman alive. Couldn’t be bothered to list off a few cake items they had available… no no. She just huffed and repeatedly stated to just come in and look for myself. Listed two cakes and immediately was bent out of shape. CLEARLY the criteria for hiring at Haggens is be a gigantic dick hole and hate your life. SUPER.

I’m not very picky about grocery stores but here’s the deal. They have a nice organic selection but excluding that, this is a newly renovated, more expensive(for no reason) version of albertsons. Point blank the regular non organic items are overpriced. For that reason I’d rather make the drive to get my organic and non organic groceries from Trader Joes or Fresh and Easy. Not impressed.

Spend 6 month living here at the most This store just opened recently last couple month, but, from early observations, VERYEXPENSIVE! I DONOTCARE about the name of the place what I look for is service and price and their prices are to high for«WHAT» and service is lacking. DONOT shop here go somewhere. It was better as Albertsons’s store. Just so you know I don’t think they care about you the«customer» we need to show them we don’t care about by not shopping there.

I used to shop here when it was Albertson’s. I’m very disappointed in the change now with Haggen’s. They raised prices 15 to 20% on everything! Even the sale prices are higher now than the old regular Albertson’s prices. They are destined to Fail unless they lower their prices!!! The quality is about the same as Albertson’s except for the meats. Seafood quality has gone down and prices are much higher. I hope the management is reading these reviews on Unilocal and make some drastic changes before they have to start closing stores. I’m seeing many other negative reviews about Haggen’s. For now, I be shopping at the large Von’s store on Murphy Canyon Road a few miles away…

I’ve been to the store about 4 times and twice I have been over charged for an Item — and that is only the times that I’ve caught it. The first time was just days after the store had reopened and the store manager Justin called and apologized. OK, but that was my first impression of Haggen. Today it was the pineapple that rung up $ 3.49 instead of the $ 2.99 marked The cashier refunded the 50 cents, but as I told her, it isn’t the money, it is the principle and the loss of trust. The produce guy apologized and said it was due to a previous sale price sign that had mistakenly not been changed. The prices seem considerably higher than Albertson’s or Von’s, and their business seems to be way down. Can we get Albertson’s back in this location?

I want Albertson’s back! Haggen’s feels very uptight and I’m not ok with their pricing. As for their commercials, that place is more hassle because I have to drive farther to shop somewhere else! Time to go Haggens!

This was my go to grocery store when it was Albertsons, and I had high hopes and expectations that Haggen would be at least as good if not better, but have come to be disappointed. Apparently, so have many other Tierrasantans, as my visit to the store this past Sunday around 4;00 p.m., when there is usually brisk traffic at the store, revealed a half full parking lot, few shoppers and only one open check stand other than the express lane, and no one was in it. So, here is the good and the bad: Good: — better selection in meat and fish department, although prices are higher — lots of the former temporary stands and kiosks that cluttered the aisles at Albertsons are gone, so there is more room to maneuver(unlike the competing Vons on Santo — yikes!) and the store looks less cluttered and more buttoned down. — if you want organic, they have it compared to Albertsons, but it is expensive. If I wanted farm to table stuff, I would probably look at Primo first or take a trip to Valley Center and hit a fruit and vegetable stand for the really fresh good stuff. — its not crowded here anymore(good and bad) Bad: — prices are up on the average of 10−15% over Albertsons on just about everything. Last Sunday, I bought the«usual stuff» for the week which typically cost me around $ 100 at Albertsons, cost me $ 124+. — Haggen’s wine discount program is much less customer friendly than Albertsons. Now, you get 10% off if you buy 4, while you used to get 20% if you bought 6. Another price increase. So I’ll fight the skinny aisles at Vons to get the 20% on 6 deal there(they have a better selection anyway). Also, base wine prices have increased by 5−10% at Haggen, so its not really a deal at all. — product selection is definitely down. Albertsons had good generics on lots of things together with Safeway branded products. These are gone, and the Haggen replacements are far fewer. There are also several brand name products that have simply disappeared. — The Albertsons employees were all pretty friendly, happy people. However, when there last Sunday, I noticed that none of the employees looked or acted happy, both those that carried over from Albersons as well as new ones. The UT today had an article that indicates that Haggen is failing to meet expectations of the consumer with many of the stores they acquired to offset the anti-competitive Albertsons merger. The Tierrasanta store is a poster child for this observation. Actually, isn’t this a reflection that the SEC is either asleep at the switch or worse, with all of the mergers and acquisitions eliminating competition and resulting in mini-cartels that continually increase and fix prices? Witness the airline industry, the wireless carrier industry and the cable network industry. Now this. This leaves those of us in T-town stuck between a rock and a hard place. The only real store in the area now is the big Vons on Murphy Canyon, which is a major pain to get to except during obscure hours, unless you are committed to biting the bullet and combining it with a Walmart run. Haggen has been here around 6 weeks and I am willing to keep an open mind in the event positive aspects of the«transition» are yet to come. But so far, not so good.

Went here at 1:58 pm on a Sunday. I was trying to purchase a bottle of champagne, after finding it in a locked cabinet I asked an employee if he would open it for me. He told me he would call for someone to do so. I heard over the speaker«customer service to the liquor cabinet.» After continuing to wait I flag down another employee to ask if he will open it for me. He tells me he will go grab a manager, instead he returns with a set of keys… only they’re the wrong keys. He leaves again only to come back an say he has to find ANOTHER manager. after waking 5 more minutes I decide to leave and just drive to Vons down the street. I would like to say thank you to the employee trying to help me, I’m sorry your incompetent management couldn’t set you guys up for success.

Tried Haggens for the second time and the last time! We weren’t in the mood to cook and thought maybe they’d have some good prepared food. Grabbed a salad and after a closer look, found that it comes with a lovely side of molded peppers! So gross! Figured maybe we’ll just grab some milk since we’re here… almost $ 2 more for the same milk I get at Von’s! Crazy!

So I wanted to go here several times before I wrote my review… I like them! I shopped at Albertsons a lot.(I was there a few times a week for different things… so, I really liked Albertsons.) And I will be honest, I don’t like change, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from Haggens… but so far so good. Yes, some of the prices are higher, but that comes with the quality. More organics and higher quality meats. The deli area is nice. I am not sure if I am a fan of the deli meats yet, they def have their signature meat… I like more of a variety to be offered, but we’ll see. And HELLO to the pasta salad area… AWESOME!(garlic aioli pasta salad… Lord help me!) The Bakery has def stepped it up a notch with quality cake design. I will be honest, this review could have been a three star because the Bakery made an error on my order today, but the store manager, Justin, and a women in the bakery department made it right and then some. They really stepped up and owned the error and compensated me for my trouble. I have a lot of respect for people who do that.(owning the error) I am hopeful they will take it as a lesson learned and I will continue to give the Bakery area my business. As for the rest of the store, I don’t see much of a difference in pricing. Maybe a little higher here or there, but nothing over the top. They do not have the sales Albertsons had(buy 5 for X amount of dollars… etc… which, BTW, people complained about too! Who needs 5 bottles of dressing?) The fact of the matter is, there are no gimmicks here. Everything is straight forward. And if you really think about it, The Albertsons sales compared to Haggens sales, they pretty much worked out to the same price. Right now, this is the transition period… so we’ll see how it all works out… if anything changes, good or bad, I will update my review!

Well I went to albertsons… only to find out albertsons had been replaced. You’d think the new owners would do a bit of local marketing, mailing or engagement to get locals excited… nope. This was the first I’d heard. So imagine the disappointment when you walk in… it still feels like the old albertsons(admit it was a bit of a crappy feel)…and you still see products that were the exact same, and stuff you used to purchase regularly only to find out its way more expensive(like 40%). You see products like a rack of lamb… for $ 60. Lol. Yeah, good luck in tierrasanta… you aren’t going to last long if you don’t know your market… and it shows… Plenty of meat reduced in their fresh section, but because of their excessive prices(and only reducing the 100s of items by $ 1.50) guarantee they still aren’t going to shift it. Ham off the bone, probably one of the most popular deli meats before when with albertsons… not stocked. I mean it was almost laughable. Unfortunately I’ve lost my local albertsons that had good deals… and its replaced by something that’s much more expensive and prices me out as a customer. My first, and likely my last visit. Extremely disappointing.

hm. I wanted to like this new grocer but my emotions are mixed… Upon walking in to this location it still felt like old dirty Albertsons. We hit produce right away and noticed for a higher price, they did have quite the selection. I shop from the organic/local section and found that everything appeared fresh and large size. After cruising the meat depo I came early to the conclusion that this place is a bit pricey. My yogurt cups were 15 cents more each, pepperoni, breakfast sausage(even their store brand) was a higher price. Cereal was expensive too, I’m not sure hot the military community handles that?!? I hit the deli and picked up their premium meat, it is Di Lusso brand. Which was more expensive than everyone’s favorite, Boars Head. My trip was over soon and cut short to the ‘absolute must haves’ until my next Ralph’s venture(sorry for cheating). I was bummed I was not offered to use a complimentary Haggen Card at the register for an extra savings. Don’t think I would go back.

Just opened recently but, from early observations, EXPENSIVE! Paying way more than I did @ Albertsons. Hoping they will come to their senses & realize they are not Whole Foods! Shouldn’t have to pay«organic food prices» for non organic food. Store looks clean & organized in their favor.
