And they’re closed. Not sure why, but after being there forever they have shut their doors with a sign on the door. Service was normally ok. Nothing great, not always good, but at least ok. They kept changing the menu removing items I liked though…

* * THISCOCO’S HASCLOSED * * and it sure wasn’t from the great service from Gerardo the waiter. I hope he and his wife(a waitress there as well) find better jobs at a better restaurant! Now what is going into that location?

What’s not to love about Cocos. It’s like Denny’s with less drunk people. The have a huge menu. Lots of healthy options with pork alternatives. Service is friendly. The coffee is actually good. Food is reasonably priced for the portions they give you. Usually, spend about $ 10 a person. Ok. My boring review is over. cocos is a great place to for breakfast or brunch.

Everyone has been to a Coco once in their lives, so I’ll spare you the décor/cleanses/atmosphere bit. We had a good meal. The service was slow, but there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant. That is not ok. The poor girl — she was doing her best and was incredibly friendly and sweet. We started with the taste of Greece. The pita and kalamata olives were delicious — the pita was warmed in the oven and absolutely delicious. The hummus and salad hit the spot as well. I had the chicken piccata. It tasted good, but the pasta was not al dente and the chicken was a tad dry. But it was tasty. I also had an arugula salad with a lemon vinaigrette that was absolutely lovely. I wanted to drink the vinaigrette, but for decorum sake, I ordered some pita and cleaned up the vinaigrette with it. The prime rib bbq cheeseburger was RIDICULOUSLY delicious!!! The crispy onions and the bbq sauce made this burger foodgasmic. Absolutely unreal and we’ll be back for that sandwich as soon as we can. The chicken Alfredo was good — the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was excellent. The veggies were super fresh — any fresher, they’d be insulting! The french dip was a hit as well and the sweet potato fries came out crispy and hot. The au jus was layered and had great flavours. The 55 and older chef salad was cheap, but very small. He ate it all, so I assume he liked it. Ok, let’s move on to the real reason we are here. Let’s talk pies. The dark chocolate chip cheese pie elicited rather guttural moans around the table. The lemon meringue soothed the palate with its delicate lemony taste. The key lime pie had lovely tartness balanced perfectly with sweetness. So for a chain, this was decent.

I’ve come here many times and have had great service and the food is always pretty good! Today’s waitress was a little lacking on making sure we were tended to. I was left without a drink during the last half of my dinner. The salad and dinner plates were even left on the table until we ordered our pie. At that time, a dishwasher came and picked up the dishes. Kinda poor service to have all the dirty plates sitting on the table. Regardless of the poor service this time, the food was good and the pie was great. The end booth by the kitchen and emergency exit is a super cold place to sit at. It’s breezy and the air conditioning vent was blowing on us too. Next time, we will not sit in that booth.

Came in because my wife started to get cravings for the some soup. Yes, she’s pregnant lol. Greeted by some great people, really nice and polite. Our server was Rebecca and she was nice and easy going. I ordered a coffee(I’m a coffee addict) Not bad for a house coffee. We ordered some bread. The bread was pretty bomb, smothered it with butter lol. Next was our Broccoli soup. My wife was at the table dying… she kept blaming the baby lol, we only waited 15min but my wife claimed it was 45min ahahah Men. Stay away from hungry pregnant women!!! hahaha Anyways, the soup was good, coffee was good and the service was good. I don’t have anything negative to say. Ohhhhh…Btw, I dipped the Bread into the soup and BOOMMMM bombness lol

If I could say one thing about this Coco’s it would be DISAPPOINTING! Although three different people welcomed us with a good morning be right there it was almost 10 minutes before we were seated, there were 6 tables with people, a few people at the counter and from where we eventually were seated only one waiting to have their order taken. We were seated in Jessica’s section and although she was really nice her skills were lacking. The woman who appeared to be the manager got our drinks and brought 1 spoon for the coffee and tea. It wasn’t until our meal was served we got the last setup of silverware. The man next to us didn’t get any and ate his with his coffee spoon. If you want a refill on coffee you may have to go next door to Starbucks. The food, well where to start… the omelette was warm with the cheese already coagulated in a puddle of cheddar grease served with cold hash browns which were best described as dry pine needles. The pancakes also cold, may have been frozen microwaved ones since the butter would not melt. The over medium eggs were so cold the yolk barely flowed and the chicken fried steak, although HOT was so salty I thought I was eating a fair treat of deep fried ocean water. They did remove this meal from our bill and I must say the banana nut muffin was good, or maybe I was just hungry. Would I return, NOWAY! When asked how everything was upon paying the bill I said: REALLYBADACTUALLY, sorry was the reply. This is not the Coco’s I remembered from sitting with my grandmother before a day of girl shopping. Not sure how this franchise is still in business other than maybe its proximity to Kaiser Hospital.

@cocosrestaurant Got a new gal tonight. Nice, but kept telling us about how she didn’t understand the new electronic ordering pads. After 15 mins we still didn’t have drinks and had barely gotten our bread. And she admitted forgetting our drinks and had to come back to clarify our order. Lord knows what our order would have come out like. We just got up and left.

4 stars for the pie!!! Are you kidding me, how have I never ate a pie from here??? I just bought something delicious that isn’t on their website it’s a cheesecake topped with a dutch apple pie and dried cranberries… My family devoured it and everyone was ready to drive there to get their own to take home. Thank you Coco’s for a prefect family dinner indulgence :) Food? Hmmm I’m still on my sugar high

Hardest working servers I’ve ever met. These servers are hosts, bussers, dishwashers, servers and they practically run trying to serve all their guests. The food is amazing and the family friendly restaraunt is always a good place to dine.

Reasonable food at reasonable prices served in reasonable(well, slightly large) quantities. We enjoyed a late breakfast/early lunch on Sunday morning here at Coco’s. Overall, the food was good(east coasters– think Perkins) and our service was good, but she was overwhelmed. Pancakes didn’t come out with strawberries as asked. Didn’t get silverware until after our food. Didn’t get drinks until a second prompt. Toast didn’t come out until we were paying our check. That certainly left the service area to have some to be desired but at least she was very friendly. Soup, salad, pancakes and eggs all were good. The toast that came out with our check… Burnt to a crisp. This place has room to improve.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon with a party of eight. As soon as we walked in we were told they had two waiters for the entire restaurant and an assistant manager had quit. Not a promising start. Still we went ahead and put orders in. The wait staff was excellent. I would have to say they were two of the hardest working waiters in San Diego. Our food came out in a timely manner, our drinks were always full and the burger I ordered was juicy and cooked to perfection. To top off the meal I had a piece of pie, no disappointment.

A decent little step up from fast food restaurant. It’s not going to blow your hair back with the menu options, but when your waiting for the truck to get the tires rotated and your only other options are McDonalds or Carl’s Jr! Take it. But… Skip the biscuits and gravy!

The good news… this experience saved me probably 800 calories Now, the not so good news: Major FAIL Coco’s! March 14 also known as Pi Day my coworker stopped in to grab some slices to bring back to the office… Or should I say, we ATTEMPTED to grab some slices. First, there were only about 3 pies in the case… Then the staff was not on point. We tried to order two mere slices of pie on pi day. We not only had to ask the availability of the other pies which took several minutes to confirm, we had to wait even longer while the one cashier rang up every senior citizen in the zip code before going to cut the slices. At this time, it has now been over 15 minutes between being acknowledged, confirming the pie, ordering the pie and the cashier returning to let us pay for said pie(at $ 4 a slice…). Unfortunately for us, the cashier began ringing up the customers whom during this entire adventure had accumulated instead of taking our money, slamming our pie in a bag and letting us head out. Meanwhile, the manager comes out and sees there are no pies in the case. And my coworker and I are like, «Yeah, and it’s Pi day!» and she exclaims, «OMG there are no pies in the case on Pi day!» and says this to cashier and then frantically runs off to grab, I assume, more pies while we continue to wait to pay. After it became apparent we were not a priority, we had to leave. If takeout takes 20 minutes for something that doesn’t need to be cooked, I can only imagine what table service would take. I can grab a slice of(pizza) pie at many local by-the-slice places in half the time. I hope someone other than said cashier got to chow the cut slices on Pi day because there was no way we could wait any longer for something that should have been a 5 minute deal. Needless to say, I won’t be coming here ever again. An expired Home Run Pie from 7 – 11 would have been an improvement on my experience here.(Do they even still make those?) I’m sure who ever Coco is, that lovely doll, would be disgraced to know that her vision to bring smiles and pies to people of the world has been tarnished by lack luster pie and the lack luster service of this location.

Waited probably 10 minutes to be seated. There was no host/hostess. We were seated by what I assume was a busser. He was polite, brought us waters promptly without us asking. Then began another wait as we literally watched the waitresses run about, and help people at the register(we were sat right by the register). We were never spoken to, we never even got eye contact. We sat in our booth for about another 10 minutes of being ignored then we got up and left. I’d never return.

We came here about 45min before closing time! Why? well it was a sunday night, and a lot of places were CLOSED by 9p! So we came here on a spontaneous feeling, and well… I only wish we came here just to get the pies. My man ordered his angus steak medium rare, and I simply ordered the new six cheese ravioli. Let me tell you this, the steak was SO overpriced for something SOSMALL! when you’re thinking ANGUSSTEAK, you’re thinking something bigger than your hand, not SMALLER than it. My ravioli tasted so BLAND, and this was NEW?! There was only ONE waiter that night, and people kept coming on in! Slow service, especially with the cooking. The cook was literally CLEANING the kitchen before he COOKED anything, I mean the kitchen was in plain sight, and we just happen to be seated in front of the kitchen too. Our bread basket, .the bread was HARD, and seemed as if it was just warmed up in the microwave and not fresh out of the oven, like it was sitting out for a while! GROSS status! I’m happy enough I got my $ 1.99(with a purchase of lunch or dinner entrée. gotta read that fine print!) Pecan Pie Fix! I just don’t think I’ll come back here, well… MAYBE for the pie… and I’ll take it to go! Place is so small, and filled with the Elderly. The only thing I liked, was the pie… and the fact they helped out a homeless man! so kudos for that, thank you because there’s not a lot of restaurants who would even let one in! The tip should’ve went to the homeless man instead, ahhh well. I might come back, because I want to try the breakfast menu! looked pretty awesome, but i’ll possibly go to a different coco’s!
