This location is closed. They have gone out of business. This franchise is Healthy and Delicious, but must not have been appealing enough the local community as it has shut its doors. This is a heavy blow to those of us looking for healthy fast food alternatives. Fare well Extreme Pita Mira Mesa.. .you fed us well and we will miss you!

I like ordering a customized Pita. Food always tastes fresh and staff has always been nice. I don’t mind stopping here and it’s close to work!

Extreme Pita is for all gym rats looking for a hearty meal. Packed with proteins and fresh vegetables. Been here a few times now and the service is always excellent. It’s a mimic of Subway’s assembly line but with higher quality and fresh vegetables. Never tried the pizza.

Frequent Extreme Pita customer here! Let me give you the rundown: This is a great place to grab a very healthy bite to eat without feeling like you’re just eating cardboard or rabbit food or something. My absolute #1 favorite pita is the Thai Beef. You can get a large and it’s under 500 calories! It comes chock full of veggies, thinly sliced grilled beef, and a sweet and spicy sauce. I also get the Chicken Souvlaki quite often, it has grilled veggies with chicken, feta, tzatziki sauce, and a greek oregano dressing. If I’m feeling like splurging a little, I’ll get the Buffalo Chicken pita with cheddar cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch smothering your chicken and veggies. The choice of chips is not so great because it’s catered more towards the«healthy» stuff, and their in-house pita chips can be kind of hit or miss with the flavoring. I come here a lot though, and would definitely recommend it.

I used to hit up extreme pita all the time when I used to be in a bowling league at Mira Mesa bowl. Its great for light meal that will still fill you up. You can eat here without feeling guilty about it, unlike when I scarf down a massive burrito at Chipotle next door. I am not in mira mesa very often anymore, but if I am running errands I will still hit this place up from time to time. I am a big fan of the buffalo chicken pita. I usually go vegetarian, but I am not a big fan of their falafel — its on the dry side, so I just splurge for the chicken and I am much happier with that decision. Bottom Line: Great for a quick guilt free meal!

This place is awesome! I’ve only been here once, so I refrained from using 5 stars, even though I really wanted to. Can’t wait to go back to try more pita flavors. My first try was the Chicken Shawarma Pita. Chicken, onion, hummus and tabuleh with lettuce and dill pickles all wrapped up in a HUGE pita!(and it was their«small» size!) Fresh, delicious, and healthy food choices? No reason to eat fast food ever again with a place like this so close by. LOVE it! ;)

The summer of 2010, I ate here either for breakfast or lunch. You can pick from a small or a regular and both are filling and I like how they do everything in your sight. If I were vegetarian I would appreciate this place because they have a vegetarian side on their grill & there is an appropriate sign posted just in case people wonder why they are using only ½ the grill. The wrapper may be a little tricky to use but you know what there are directions on the paper. PROS — lots of variety on the menu — have children’s menu — bake own pita chips & make own pita chip dip — a healthier choice — they give back to the community(huge plus in my book) — receipt prints out break down of calories CONS — could be pricy but have reward points & deals on receipts & entertainment coupons — line could look intimidating but the workers are efficient and get the line down especially during lunch — drink options kinda blah, I normally just get water. I enjoy this place, I love their pita chips & dip. Will be back & I do recommend this place.

I was at an event that these people catered. They brought 4 kinds of pitas: turkey, chicken Caesar, falafel and veggie. I chose the turkey but save for 4 piddly slices of pre-packaged deli meat they might as well have call it the ‘veggie’. My pita consisted of giant hunks of lettuce, the kind you’d cut up if you were eating a salad, greenish-red tomato slices, shredded yellow-orange cheese cucumbers(English cucumbers I think) and tiny pieces of bell peppers. The last two items fall under the Jeopardy heading of «Things I never put on my Sandwiches» with olives, jalapenos, and banana peppers rounding out the category. The pita was about 8″ and seemed big and I was hoping it would be filled like a Chipotle burrito but alas, it was mostly lettuce. It fell apart on me after a few bites so I rearranged everything, picked out the cucumbers and bell peppers, giant chunks of lettuce and some the cheese, tore off half the remaining pita and rewrapped it to finish it. Overall I’m going to add Extreme Pita to my «food I would eat but not pay for» list.

If you’re in the mood for something light and refreshing for lunch and don’t want to hear the spiel about Subway, this is a great and BETTER alternative. Extreme Pita has their variety of menu options for their pita wraps but you can also custom make your own wraps by telling them what you want. However, I personally just go with the Chicken Bourbon wrap. Friendly tip: Extreme Pita sometimes has coupons such as buy one get one, so make sure on googling some if you are planning on coming in! Two is always better than one! :]

Ordered chicken shawarma for lunch the other day. Pretty disappointed to see pretty much the ratio between vegetable and chicken is 9 to 1 inside my pita bread. I guess they are aiming for a healthy appetite, but c’mon more meat please! Not thinking of going back just because I’m not sold of the idea of eating«healthy» while I’m not enjoying my food

I had a gyro wrap here. It was delicious! This place is basically like subway but for wraps. It’s more filling than Subway though. You choose a type of wrap, then get to fill it with all kinds of goodies. Of course, I ask them to stuff it with almost everything possible. Tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, spinach, jalapeño, pepperoncini, mushrooms, tabouli, etc. Love this place!

Came with a deal. Had to spend ~$ 35, so we ordered 6 pitas(2 «pizza» pitas and 4 rolls). The idea of making your pita into a roll/pizza and personalizing it seemed fun, but the overall taste of food was mediocre. Service: extremely friendly Ambiance: clean, but a ton of flies landing on our food the night we went. Wish there was something special or unique about their food… maybe a special sauce?

So nice! I’ve been to other ones before, but the service here was wonderful. Super friendly and fast. Stopped by for lunch and ordered chicken schwarma. It was juicy and all the toppings were fresh. It’s a nice healthy alternative, kind of like Subway and I love that they provide nutritional information to help you make better choices. Will definitely come back here!

Not quite sure how this place deserves a 4 stars because this is basically like Subway. Nothing fancy or extra niche I see that makes it tastes really good. Their meat portions are rather small for the price they are asking so I was still pretty hungry after ordering one meal. One thing that bothered me were the grills they use to heat up the food, it wasn’t very appealing to see knowing my food would be cooked from that grill. Typically Subway would fill me up. I ordered their grilled chicken pita it was okay. It was kind of cool how they have a unique packaging to allow you to eat without touching your hands. But I didn’t pay for that, I paid for the food and this is just A-ok. I’d much rather go to Subway, cheaper and same if not better taste.

I work in the shopping center so getting lunch here is convenient. I usually call ahead so by the time I get there it is ready to eat. I have a select few that are my faves. The«chicken souvlaki» «buffalo chicken» and«fiesta mexicana». I always ask for light dressing since they really go nuts on the dressing. Prices are reasonable and if you join the«street savings» text club you will get random deals via text. Those are great. I usually get excited when I receive a text from them. Never had a problem with any of their employees. They’re always super nice and friendly. They make you feel special when you go in there and they recognize you. I wish they had one closer to me in Escondido.

I tried Extreme Pita for the first time the other day. I got a regular size freestyle grilled chicken pita. I was tempted to get gyro meat, but it seemed like everyone ahead of me in line got chicken, so it seemed like a good choice. Not knowing that you select what the chicken is grilled with in the first part of the process, I just had the chicken grilled by itself. You have the option of adding onions, mushrooms, and peppers. After that, you select what fresh veggies and sauces you want in your pita. I like the fact that you get to see them cook and put together your pita. The line didn’t take too long to get through and the staff was friendly. When paying for my pita, the woman checking me out asked if I knew how to eat this and I said no and that it was my first time here. Since it was my first time, she made sure to wrap my pita tightly and showed me where to tear and how to hold and eat it. The pita was very good and it felt like a healthier lunch option because of the fresh ingredients. I received a coupon on my receipt, so I’ll likely be back to try another pita.

Very nice restaurant here — you see your meal cooked right in front of you, and you can also choose what kind of fillings you want in your pita. There’s so many options to choose from here, and everything is so yummy! Also, their breakfast menu is the bomb — go with the Denver Omelette! The staff are friendly and fast. Make sure to «like» them on Facebook — not only does Extreme Pita post deals every so often(like tonight, when they posted that each pita you ordered was a free combo), they also give you a free pita on your birthday! Score!!!

Extreme Pita was OK, but thank goodness for a deal of the day coupon that saved us money. We had a make your own flatbread pizza and the Bourbon Chipotle Pita. The pita has all sorts of exciting ingredients, but overall it looked better than it tasted. The pizza sauce wasn’t very good, which makes a pizza awfully tough to be good! The service was very nice, but it is an OK option among many in the Mira Mesa area.

I think I just had a salad shooter poop in a pita and served to me. Not sure how this place ended up with 4 stars but I’m here to bring down that average and rightfully so because the food sucked! I had the thai beef pita and while this sounded good, it sounded better than it tasted. I had a total of 7 pieces of beef and at one point, my pita was so drenched in sauce that it could no longer hold the contents. I picked away at the broken pita and veggies like an alley cat. The flavor was bland and I think the sweet/sour sauce qualifies it as «thai.» The ratio of beef to veggies was off. I would have liked more meat(that’s what she said). While my pita fell apart. I don’t think I would have finished it even if it did hold together. It just wasn’t worth it.

Went here on Tuesday to take advantage of the Kids eat Free deal… –Kids got their food CHECK… –Hubby got his food CHECK… –WTF is my food!!! Anyhoo, I ordered the Thai Chicken flatbread(sorta like a pizza style) with NOMUSHROOMS. It was kind of busy, so they had us sit down after we paid and gave us each pita as they were finished. 15 minutes later, my kids and hubby already scarf their meal… and I say«wth did they forget about my pita?» so hubby walks over and they tell him«OH, we accidentally dropped it on the floor so we’re making a new one» At first I’m like«ok cool»…finally get it and THERE’S MUSHROOMS! ugh! they place was kinda busy, so I was like ‘whatever’ cause i didn’t want to have my family to wait another 15 – 20 minutes for them to remake it. I tried to pick out the mushrooms, but the flavor was already baked into it YUCK… so I ended up tossing it. What a bummer. But the employees were really nice tho. If they had told us the first time they had dropped it, I would have been more than happy to remind them NOMUSHROOMS.
