Check this out. I called and asked if they have Johnny Walker green label and the guy said«yes», immediately I asked how much, guy tells me «he’s busy»? The fuck kind of answer is that to give a patron. Johnny Walker is overpriced in the area going for at least $ 65 bucks and this dickhead who sells liquor, tells me «he’s busy». Like duh man, that’s like me pricing cars, call a dealer for more info about a car and says«he’s busy». Looks like I’ll pay for my over-priced Johnny Walker somewhere else and promise never to step foot in this sorry ass joint!

I tried the czechvar dark and it was terrible.. owner told me he would order the czechvar regular just for me and my czech friend! a few weeks later it was on the shelf, and I’ve been buying it there ever since. Now that’s customer service! !

He charges a rdiculous extra charge for using a credit card to make a purchase. Their beer selection is good though. No more sandwiches though. What happened to the sandwich lady?

ACK! No more sandwiches for now. I dropped in today. The owner told me that Anna the sandwich lady, who had been there forever, has moved back to Korea. She kept working there after she and her husband sold the business to the current owners. The owners are looking for a replacement. :-(

I live in the area and can’t believe it took me 6 months to find this gem. Sandwiches are large and delicious! I usually go with the French Connection or the hot Torpedo sub. The lady who makes the sandwiches is incredibly nice and I have not had any issues with the new owners. Last time we were in there, the sandwich prices were dropped to less than $ 5, which is a freaking steal! Oh yeah and they sell a ton of booze and the prices and selection are both good. They have my favorite beer(Rogue Brewery — Dead Guy Ale) so that pushes my review to 5 stars.

I used to live around the corner from this place and loved the sandwiches from the deli. It went under new ownership about a year ago and the new owners are total d-bags. It’s unfortunate, because the older Korean lady who makes the sandwiches is still there. The new owners charged a fee if you paid with a credit card for a total below $ 6. You now have to spend $ 20+ or you’ll be hit with an additional fee. This, in addition to the recent price hikes(sandwiches are now $ 7+) are the reasons I won’t be going anymore.

I am so disappointed w this sandwich place. The sandwich meat was bland and it was just nuked in the microwave. Their topping selection was sooo limited – Literally onion, lettuce and tomatos. it was pretty pricy for what you get… $ 7.53 + $ 0.50 for using a credit card transaction. Lame. I rather have gone to subway for the $ 5 footlongs.

Doesn’t look like the type of place you’d go for a sandwich on the outside, but it’s legit, quick, and reasonably priced! They are generous with their meat, and because they are a deli, they have a wide range of fresh meat and cheese. How can you go wrong? Never been here for anything else except the sandwich, so can’t say much on the liquor part of the liquor store…

Good place for a quick sandwich. Like everyone else here, I would like to comment on the amazing customer service at this place. Averages $ 6/sandwich that is customizable. I come here whenever I’m on the run and need a filling bite to eat. Liquor on the other hand is overpriced here. I compared a couple brands and would recommend you go to costco/grocery store

I came to give five stars to my favorite neighborhood sandwich place. Obvs it already has more than enough support! However…my vote is for the ATC, Hot Country Chicken, & my new fav, the godfather. You won’t be disappointed.

Great place for grabbing a quick sammy in a land where good food is scarce. You can get a pretty tasty sammy here for around $ 6 bones. Don’t expect Boars Head. Bot do expect friendly service and inexpensive, quality grinds. It’s a liquor sto. So grab your sammy, a bottle of boons, 5 hour energy, a pack of Magnums and a swisher. Now go have yourself a romantic picnic and then get back to work you little pooter you.

If you have a craving for a hearty sandwich and you’re in the UC area, go here! Price is cheap, and you get more for your buck. It’s a cozy little mom and pop sandwich shop located inside of a convenience store. I recommend the French Connection. The meat servings are huge and the bread is soft and fresh. I loved how the sauce complimented the meat nicely. We used to go here all the time after school. Man, I miss SD!

I LOVETHISPLACE It is easily one of my favorite places to grab a sandwich in SD. It’s simply a deli, there’s not even really a sitting area but the sandwiches are so bomb it’s totally worth it. I usually get the godfather when I come here. I’m not sure exactly what goes in it but if you like hot Italian sandwiches, this should definitely be your choice. But don’t think that they just have Italian sandwiches, they seriously have something for anyone. They pack the sandwiches and you get a pickle on the side too :) You can get a sandwich for less than $ 6 and tastes 100x better than subway or quiznos. The korean lady and man who works there are super cute too. They are really nice and adds to the pleasant experience. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a yummy, cheap sandwich.

Not the nicest or cleanest liquor store in the area, but they have a decent liquor selection(including a couple bottles of $ 375 Scotch) and a cool little deli that is both convenient and tasty. The meats and all the fixings’ are fresh and piled thick onto the bread. They don’t skimp on anything, while they don’t over do anything too(read: mayo and/or mustard). Definitely a good spot to try a decent sandwich(and if it’s your thing: grab a bottle of booze) on your next lunch break in the UTC area.

Best«sandweeecheeee» ever!!! If it’s your first time at this place get the Godfather. It’s a massive sandwich that will blow you away! The little Korean lady who makes these sandwiches is extremely sweet! I have been going here now for over five years and it never fails to please. I love the ATC, farmer’s ranch, and the aloha sandwich as well. Also the torpedo is really good. Theyre all very good!!! The couple doesn’t speak much english but not necessary when your face is stuffed with a delicious piece of heaven. something about those sandwiches that will leave a lasting impression :)

I have been here multiple times with my bf. Every time, we joke that we bring a baby home because their sandwiches are huge enough to be a newborn baby. We usually get either the egg salad sandwich or the chicken salad sandwich cause they are fabulous! Why try something new when you already found maybe the best on the menu? Each sandwich is $ 5 – 6 so very affordable and one sandwich is good enough for two people. The owners of the shop are very nice, helpful, and fast. Everyone should try this place at least once

I’m just reviewing this for the deli part, not the liquor. So yeah, I was craving something cheap, quick and close by to where I live and I was getting a little sick of going to my staple foods, McDonalds, Panda Express or Cotixan’s, so I checked out Unilocal to tell me where to go. Decided to go to this liquor store/deli based on its solid reviews and once again, Unilocal has not let me down! Personally, sandwiches are nothing out of the ordinary, you pretty much already know what you’re gonna get when you order one. I’ve never really been blown away by the taste of a sandwich while at the same time, I’ve never tried a sandwich so bad I couldn’t stomach. That being said, I thought the sandwiches here were actually pretty good. The size of the sandwiches are huge and most of them are around $ 6, so it’s a very good value. I ended up getting the French Connection and ordered the Californian for later that night once my appetite from alcohol consumption kicked in. Anyways, I don’t really have much too much to say about the actual food except that it was definitely delicious and worth the money. Much better than the average franchise sandwich chain, like Subway or Quizno’s. But I think the one aspect I enjoyed the most was the super friendly Korean couple that owns the liquor store/deli. The husband runs the counter of the liquor store while the wife manages the deli section. The wife for sure takes her time and puts in a lot of effort in making her sandwiches. The wait might be a little longer than expected, but it’s worth it for sure. During my wait, the two were talking back and forth in Korean to each other about random things. Their conversation was hella cute, since I could understand them, being Korean myself. Even if their sandwiches were garbage(thank goodness they’re not though), I would go back to this place just for the Korean couple/owners. They’re so warm and inviting. I love going to and supporting mom and pop places like this. It’s that personal touch of this place that makes the whole experience much more appealing.

For sandwiches in University City, this is my spot. I’ve been here quite a bit and probably more than 90% of my orders have been for the French Connection, hold the onions. I don’t have a tiny appetite, but I’ve been able to stretch their sandwich into three sittings. As for the convenience store, Courtesy’s got a limited selection of most alcohol types. If you want some wine, I’d suggest grabbing something in the $ 5 – 10 range. Why? Because it seems that their selection in other price points doesn’t seem to be rotated/move that often. They don’t do age-able wines here, so your best bet would be something like the Delicato Shiraz. Out of the alcohol, the liquor is the largest and most diverse group. If you like energy drinks as I do, they’ve got a decent bunch. Over the years, Courtesy has reduced their convenience by removing their microwave, water hot pot(no more in-house ramen making), and potato/mac salads, but I personally haven’t suffered from this. Based on my latest visit, Courtesy Liquor and Deli still provides a quick and affordable lunch.

I’m full. I got a sandwich, a soda, and a bag of Fritos here, and i’m full, and i didn’t even finish my soda or fritos. The deli here is a great place to get a sandwich. I got the #5, which was honey ham with pineapple, swiss cheese and other sandwich fixin’s. Yummy yummy fullness. and a pickle on the side. mmm. The lady behind the sandwich counter was rather nice, and the man staffing the cashier’s station was a little humorous. Sandwiches made here aren’t super fast, but when i went during the lunch hour, there was no line, unlike Papa Chito’s next door. As a liquor store, i don’t know how to rate them, since i’ve never bought beer or wine or spirits(or cigarettes or candy) from them, but as a place to get a sandwich, it’s good — tasty, filling, and affordable. And their soda selection is way better than fountain drinks at a subway — i got a penafiel! FYI: signs indicate a $ 6 minimum on credit cards. a sandwich and a drink should push you over the $ 6, if need be. There is «technically» outdoor seating — a single table around the side of the main entrance. No interior dining — it’s a liquor store. But if you wander around the shopping area, there are some tables and benches around in different spots on the other side of Vons.

The best low key sandwich deli in the Uni slash UTC area. Only five to six bucks for big sandwiches with a pickle and side of macaroni salad. Huge sandwich menu and it all has a homemade vibe, the San Franciscan is the business! I really didn’t even know I liked chicken salad before trying it. As a liquor store, it’s slightly weak. Selection and prices suck but that’s not at all why you go here. Aside from making a thoroughly legitimate sandwich they stock some hidden treasures. This is the only store I have regularly found the big cans of Arizona teas — for 99 cents! Proper instant noodle bowls, I’m talking hot and spicy Nong Shim. Various asian trinkets and knick-knacks for that added WTF factor, last time I bought a pair of work gloves here. Don’t sleep on this gem of a liquor store, the sandwiches alone are worth the visit!
