Treated one of my Mary Kay consultants to a foot massage here. We LOVED it! We were surprised they also did head, arms, some back. They did an excellent job and the prices were GREAT! She wants to bring her husband back for a full body and I definitely will consider them for the future.

First time there today. Asked for a one hour deep tissue. «Tina» was my masseuse. She really knew her craft. Expertly got to all my major areas, especially the lower back and shoulders and neck non stop. Left totally relaxed. What a bargain at $ 40 plus tip.

Best massage ever. Really well trained personnel. Highly recommend. Next to lots of good eateries and pubs as well

Came in with a migraine due to tension in my shoulders and neck. Vicki was my massage therapist. She really worked my shoulder blades, back and neck. She was very nice and spoke with me easily when I asked questions. No mandatory tipping rules that I could see, however I did leave her $ 15, as she did an amazing job.
My fiancé came today as well. He brought up a few things worth mentioning. When you get undressed, there is only a towel to cover yourself with, no sheets. His massage therapist was Casey, and he said it was a little difficult to communicate with her but that she was great! She really got in there. That’s another thing to mention. They really get all up in your personal space. So, if your shy or uncomfortable in the nude– be warned now. Also, they do some hot rock massage, but they don’t tell you when they leave the room! Haha. This left my fiancé wondering if the massage was over. Just be patient. :)
Also, we found out today that they do massages where they walk on your back while holding on to bars above.

Ladies and Gentleman, Friars massage and foot care is simply the best massage I’ve had in San Diego! Management professional and pleasant, staff professional and knowledgeable, rooms clean, bathroom and shower spotless. I highly recommend this establishment.

I went here for an hour couples massage. It was recommended by friends. The menu can be a bit confusing because they don’t speak much English but I have to say it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Just pick a massage and go for it. They are very polite and respectful. And massage was full body and used a multitude of techniques my favorite of which was when they used hot rocks, and even a face massage at the end. Extremely well priced especially if you bring cash. Atmosphere was very relaxing and will definitely be back.
I have to admit I almost didn’t come here because of some of the other reviews I read but I have to say that those reviews are nothing but racist. It’s not a «happy ending» place and they were very respectful. As to the girl that had an issue with them massaging her butt and tucking the towel into her underwear. Your gluteus maximus happens to be one of the largest muscles in the body. And tucking the towel prevents oil from getting on your under garments and keeps the towel in place. My physical therapist at the doctors office does the same thing.
I would highly recommend giving this place a chance. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you keep an open mind and enjoy the massage :)

I like coming to Friars Massage because when I pay cash, the prices are so much better than the other places. I can get a two hour massage with tip for $ 100 cash. The ladies are very nice and professional. English may not be their native language however, we have no problem communicating. I haven’t had a problem at all. I really love their customer card. I have a FREE 1 hour massage!
I will continue to make this my #1 spot for massages!

We went for an hour couples massage this past Friday. I dont get many massages and this place was recommended to us by friends. Wow, it was just what the doctor ordered. I thought the people were nice, respectful and definitely great at giving a full body massage. The hour was fantastic and really enjoyed the part of the massage with the hot rocks.
I would definitely recommend this place and will be back again. O-​ya I think it was reasonably priced for a couples hour.

I recommend Suzy (or Susan), she gave the best massage I have ever had! Great technique, pressure, and energy. I was totally relaxed. She even used hot rocks to massage me at the end (don’t worry they will cool them down first)
What to expect with a 60 min body massage:
— full body massage including hands, scalp, ears
— Hot rocks at the end, hot towels to wipe off the oil
— they WILL pull your undies down a bit and massage the top of your buns (it’s part of the lower back massage)
— clean facility, given a towel to cover your self (although the carpets do smell old)
— pay before your massage, tip after
— TIP APPROPRIATELY
If you think you can leave a $ 5.00 tip on a 60min don’t be mistaken, the ladies do not make enough $$ to let that go unnoticed (hence some people saying they were asked for more). $ 20.00 tip if you loved your 60 min body massage like me, no less than $ 15.00. Try it out, I will be back for sure!

Great massage by Tina and Lin. My husband and I had a couple’s massage and thought it was really good and we are really picky. The girls were friendly and professional. We would definitely go back.

:) Friars massage is awesome. An hour and a half of deep tissue body massage for 60 $. And I went back for a 2 hour foot massage for 50 $ very relaxing. I go every week to reduce stress and increase circulation in my body.

You really gotta love these low stars from people who are obviously afraid of a little difference in culture. So they don’t speak English very well. So what? You live next to MEXICO and this hasn’t happened to you before? And so what if they fully massage your ass. Isn’t that what you paid them to do? It’s one of the largest muscles in your body, after all. You can’t very well rub it yourself, can you? Your ass felt pretty damn good afterwards, didn’t it? The walk-​in is a little sketchy? Maybe that’s because you didn’t get your lavender-​water while you waited for 30 minutes, but instead were rushed in as soon as possible because they want to make sure you don’t have to wait. And the price? Awesome. Always a bargain. The idea that this place provides «happy endings» is racist and insulting. Just good massages here.
My wife and I come here all the time for great couples massages. We’ve tried a bunch of different places, capitalizing on Groupon or other deals, but this place is always the best. We actually drive all the way from Carlsbad for the great massages. No one has ever pressured me for a tip, and in fact I always tip in cash at the end, even though it’s a prepaid massage and I pay by credit. And I always feel like I want to run to an ATM and get MORE cash to tip them because I feel so good afterwards.
Don’t listen to the touchy-​feely haters with no clue and less culture. This place is the place I compare all other massage parlors to, hand’s down!

I go to LOTS of these «sketchy» places. There is a method to them all. I believe that THE HOUSE takes the hourly money & the girls live off tips. The massage is so cheap, you have to take care of the girls. No $ 5 tip, unless it’s horrible !
The girl who checked me in was very pretty (mgr) spoke fine English. As with 95% of the places I go, you have to prepay.(add 5% if paying by cc).
The bathroom was avg.
The massage room was typical, cozy & warm & clean with pleasant music background.
There was a sheet to cover yourself & the therapist
came in after I disrobed.
I had Wendy & she gave me one of the best massages in San Diego. Her English was «better than avg.
It seems to me that different people have different experiences. I assume it has to do with experience. Mine was 100%.
People are leaving $ 5&$ 10 tips after some stranger rubbed another stranger for an hour for min wage or for free & lives off tips. Wendy never asked for a tip as I already put $$ on the bed when she returned with my green tea. She was happy. & I was happy.
If the massage was bad, TELLL THEM! If it was good, PAY THEM PROPERLY & the whole world will be happy too…

Wow, okay! I guess I’m going to be the odd-​man out here. I love this place! 1^st place I’ve gone to where the lady actually walks on your back and somehow knows exactly where to dig in. Rooms are clean, private, and the perfect temperature. The music is zen & relaxing. I never had a lady ask for a tip, barge in while changing, or be un-​friendly in the slightest. I’ve traveled the world, so the language barrier is no big deal to me. In fact, if you take the time, they will speak English. I always tip on the high end, but that’s because I could never do what they do… touch a total stranger of unfortunate body mass index. Strictly professional, by the way. I’ve been here so many times, I qualify for a free massage now. If nothing freaky has been offered by now, this place has got to be legit! Ask for Lucy. She’s my fave.

Sooo I’ve been there a few times. When you walk it in looks a little sketchy! Like it may or may not be a happy ending place! The massage was great until she basically pulled down my undies and massaged IN my BUTT crack!!! Then she grazed my girly parts a few times. Flipped me over and cupped the sides of my breasts!!! I left there feeling VERY awkward to say the least!
I thought i would give it another shot… This time i told them to stay away from my lower area. It wound up being the worse massage ever! She was sooo fast and way too much pressure. There goes having a nice relaxing massage! She hardly used massage oil so my skin is all red from the friction. My scalp massage was so rough that i left with knots in my hair! All in all, i will NOT be back.

Not so good n very rude. i tipped 25 percent and the lady said «I didn’t give u good massage? «I said yes it was ok but I am tipping you 25 percent n she was really upset, crazy right? Average massage. I have no desire to ever go back here.

I’m not sure if they deserve 2 or 3 stars and I’m torn about my experience in general!
My mom and I got foot massages on Sunday. It was super easy to book and the room they put us in was incredibly quiet and relaxing. The foot massage (for $ 25 for an hour!!) was a killer deal and included more body massage than just foot massage.
We were 5 minutes late, then they were another 10 minutes late, BUT they gave us the full-​time which is rare and was very much appreciated.
I thought it was odd that we paid when we first got there, but we paid cash and figured we would tip later. When the massage was finished, the women stared at us and made me feel like we needed to tip in the room, but I needed change, so we went to the front. The two women followed us to the front and stood next to us.
I handed a $ 20 bill to the receptionist to get change, to tip each woman $ 5. In my world, a 20% tip is great! BUT one of the women started saying «don’t worry, she will give each of us $ 10.» I looked at her odd, got the change, then handed each of them $ 5 and said thank you. The woman took the money, then humphed off, CLEARLY upset that she got the $ 5 tip, not the $ 10. Really? $ 10 on a $ 25 service!!!
I really really want to go back, but that tip situation made me uncomfortable. I guess if I can get over the last bit of customer service, it will totally be worth it for the price and the great massage!

I love this place, I also had bad massages in here, but usually it’s great.
Aimy is my favorite, but also Lucy is good.
it’s clean, fair price and they don’t try to presuure you into giving tips like some places in convoy.
they have good customer service, one of my favorites locations for 40 $ an hour massage, I prefer it than the other locations I found in Convoy and used to go… recommended!

This place is just weird.
I paid for an hour and a half massage and was cut short 20 minutes. When I asked her how long she’d been massaging me, she pointed to the clock’s 11 (3:55), when my (pre-​paid) receipt said i’d paid at 4:05. You add in the time it takes to change and get settled, the massage definitely didn’t go for the full time I’d paid for.
She left the room twice in the middle of the massage for at least 3 minutes. When you get undressed to lay on the table, they give you basically a hand towell to cover yourself. It makes it really hard to relax when you can hear people out in the lobby talking, and you don’t know why your masseuse keeps leaving the room.
Immediately after I changed, she came in to give me water and told me to tip her. I told her I would add it to my credit card up front, and she followed me and looked over my shoulder as I was writing in the amount. Very awkward.
Everything about this experience was uncomfortable and made me even more irritated than when I got there. I’d avoid this place at all costs. There is too much competitiion out there, and they play the «i don’t speak english» card way too much.
