Asada Mexican Restaurant

Open 24 Hrs?
I just drove by and they were closed.
Parked our car and saw the door sign saying open, but we knocked because it was locked, and a guy popped out from behind the counter signing us it was closed.
No drive through 24 hours and no indoor service.

As others have said, I am surprised this place gets such low reviews. Granted, I have never been inside, only through the drive-​through. I go quite often for their breakfast burritos, which are available all day. I always ask for green salsas inside my burrito and the guys who work there know me by now.
When I drop a little spanish (i’m terrible at it, BTW), the guys really appreciate it and help me practice. LOL They are usually friendly and courteous, and take a second to chat & drop a joke or two. The food is freshly made and yes, they are pretty generous with their giant tortillas, but that isn’t a deterrent for me. I just peel a little off while I’m digging in.
I have also tried their carne asada, carne asada fries, and cheese & chicken quesadillas. Sometimes they do use fries as the potatoes, I think it depends on the cook, unfortunately. The quesadillas are delicious, greasy, and huge (these are where the giant tortillas come in handy).
Overall, affordable, friendly service staff, generous portions, and a small step above what I would normally expect for a fast-​foodish mexican place. It’s not a place you’re going to go to, specifically for the Unilocal!review, but if you’re passing through, I would recommend it over most of the other fast food mexican places in the area.

I have been to this place a few times and although they have the most awesome salsa bar and the service is very fast as well as friendly. I just cant seem to get past their beans. Their beans always taste like it was refried in fish oil. I can taste it. If that is not what I taste then I would really be worried about what they make them in. I will just leave it at that.

I’m surprised how low of rating this place gets on Unilocal… Glad I didn’t look it up before trying it. We were on our way to the Linkin Park/​30 seconds to mars concert and we were starving we drove for miles and miles on this street. We wanted Del taco and we saw a bunch of hole in the wall /​Shady looking types of places this looked to be the best so we decided to try it out. I got the Tostada/​Enchilada meal and I thought it was great! Maybe because the area I live in isn’t known for great Mexican food so when I come to San Diego its just next level! But I thought it was delicious!!! If I’m ever in this area for a concert again I will definitely come back!!!

I work nearby within walking distance so I come here often. I always get the same thing, bean & cheese burrito. It’s average. I like the variety of sauces but I especially like the grilled jalapeños, grilled onions and perfectly marinated carrots.
I don’t understand why there must be 4 different TVs going on… I don’t enjoy hearing four different stations at the same time when I eat in.

I tried this place out for the the first time, they have a good variety of meats included my 2 favorites, tripas and cabeza. I ordered a tripas burrito and I was amazed that it was pretty damn good! I came here late on a Saturday and decided to come back on Sunday, it was jammed packed, and because of my short patience I left and went across the street.

Suuuppeeerrr tasty. I work near by and decided to give Asada a try. Convenient drive-​thru and a large menu. I got the pollo asado burrito and it was so good. The meat was well seasoned, the salsa was fresh and spicy, and avocado was included without charging extra. I am going to frequent this place from now on.

Good stuff.

I’d like to refer to this place as a non-​returner.
It was decent had an ok hot sauce, not to flavorful meat or good tortilla. A little shiest on the guac.
Good thing is they have the grilled onions with the hot sauces which always is a plus and the place was super clean.
But if you already have a favorite taco shop, this wont be your new one.

The food was ok. The prices r reasonable! Warning if u like hot sauce with ur food! You won’t get enough. I spent 40 dollars on food and got only 2 hot sauce
When I ask for extra they gave me 2more. Smh
