Absolutely the best, in my humble opinion, Filipino bakery in all of San Diego! You must must must try the Londres cake – it’s deliciously tremendous!

This place is known for their londres cakes, sponge cake with a filling in between. My mom had been wanting to come here since I talked about it a year ago, when my co-worker’s grandson had a party and I brought home some of the cake. They don’t have much of a selection for typical Filipino pastries, they are known for their pandesal and orders of their londres cake. They only had ube and pandan flavors, so we ordered a box of each. Brought it home and man is the cake good, especially the filling. I regret not convincing my mom to get the buko filling, that would have really elevated the flavor of the sponge cake. My aunts and cousin came to visit from LA, they loved it too. The negatives, you cannot order just one slice. It’s unfortunate because how can you try it. We even asked if we could do a half box of each flavor, shut down on that request too. With only 3 of us in the house, we were unable to finish it and the rest of both boxes went to waste. That is the reason they get the 3 stars. If we are able to order smaller portions for regular consumption, that would be nice. Each box contains a party size portion, approx 24 slices.

I walked in here hoping for fresh pandesal but did not find any :(I grabbed a bag of pandesal anyways because I was having a strong craving for some pandesal and I had some time to kill before picking up my dog from the groomers next door. They do take credit but it is 0.50 charge extra. The pandesal is a reasonable price I think I recall it only being $ 2.75. I probably will only come back if I’m in the area again craving pandesal.

Small Filipino bakery. The londres cakes are great! That’s all I had, so that’s all I have to say.

Love this Bakery! Always getting my londres sponge cake ready the same day!!! Owner is so accommodating, waiting for me to travel from work to the bakery; since I’m done at 4pm. Ube and Pandan flavored are my favorite and I get the special Macapuno filling! Delicious!!!

The londres cakes are AWESOME! My aunt years ago brought them to a party. It was the ube with macapuno. I was in love. While visiting family in Rancho Bernardo, I decided to look for this amazing bakery. After finding it on Unilocal,I’ve been ordering them every chance I get. I’ve also tried mango and vanilla but still my all time favorite is ube with macapuno. Soft, moist and delicious. There’s no frosting or any fancy decorations which I prefer. Make sure you call and place your order. I haven’t had londres in a while. Maybe it’s time for a road trip to San Diego…

This review is for the Loundres cake! I got the vanilla cake with coffee cream filling and WOW was it tasty! The cake was for a coworker’s birthday and it got a big thumbs up from everyone who enjoyed a piece :) I was able to put the order in on a Saturday and pick up on Sunday — nice and convenient! The reason for the one star minus is because there always seem to be flies buzzing around inside… kinda icky, especially with all the pastries(also delicious) in the counters…

I had just grabbed coffee after completing a nice workout on Mount Woodson and was on my home. My appetite was starting to kick in since I had just burned a bunch of calories so I was just anxious to grab anything I could and some delicious pastries were just beckoning me. I fired up the Unilocal App I saw that this place was nearby and I felt obligated to stop in. This place is pretty small and you see the displays as soon as you walk in. Unfortunately they appeared to be out of a lot of pastries(it was about 1:00pm on a Friday) so I might have to get here a little earlier next time. I opted for one of their Strawberry & Cream Cheese Turnovers and bought a bag of Pandesal. I ate the turnover as soon as I got in my car. It had adequate filling and was light, crispy and flaky. I took the Pandesal home and ate a couple there and they were also pretty good. They were soft, light, not too sour and not too sweet. The women working the counter were very nice and got me in and out quickly. The pricing is pretty good. The turnover was $ 1.35 and the Pandesal(Bag of 12) was $ 2.79. Can’t really complain. I’d like to give this place more stars but they just didn’t have the selection I was hoping or when I came in. To be completely honest though, the rule of thumb for bakeries is to get there early though so that is somewhat my fault. So next time I’ll have to get here early and try some of their other offerings.

I tried 2 types of sponge cakes from here from a party… One was mango and the other one was mocha flavored. They were both very good! Soft, with a creamy filling… and some specks of sugar. I wonder what other flavors they have…

Today was my first visit at this famous bakery I’ve heard so much about in Unilocal.Smaller than what I expected. I got there at 11:30am and could not believe there was hardly anything left on their shelves on a Friday except a few bags of pandesal and kankanis. Thank goodness, there were two bags left of ube bread– the reason why I drove all this way for! …I’ve been craving for this sweet bread but unfortunately I live in north county so driving all this way and not finding what I want would have been a real disappointer. It was definitely worth the drive! The ube bread looked so good that I had to eat one on my way home. Just like mentioned by other reviewers, the ube bread is to die for. So sweet and soft. I bought all that they had when I was there. I would have bought more but like I mentioned before it looked like everything was picked clean before I got there. I really wanted to try their famous Londres but they were still making it. One thing that sucks is that they charge a fee if you use your credit card. It’s small fee but I thought I should mention it to those who want to know.

This is my stop for pandesal and other fresh baked goods is great. I really can’t say much about the place, but it is a nice mom and pop ran store in the neighborhood. I’m a big fan of supporting small shops like these, so come on down and check them out. I’m pretty sure you’ll find something that you would like. I suggest picking up some pandesal.

The best pandesal in town. Friendly and nice people. Looking for Hot pandesal in the morning, go to this place HOTANDFRESH. You will love it. Ube bread and londres are also recommended.

I got the cinnamon cupcake with cream cheese frosting and it was ok. I used to always get the food for the gods bar, but they stopped baking them. Those were fantastic! I should probably see if i can special order them. This is the best place to get hot pandesal nonetheless! I would suggest calling first. Because of its popularity, they may not be readily available. I will always take a chance and just stop by before I go to work bc it’s so close by. Plus, my coworkers love it when I share. Hehe I also like their mamon special as well as their londres! Fresh and fluffy! You will need to special order the londres if you want to assure that you’ll have some for your special event or even just to fulfill your craving. Weekends are incredibly busy because they are short handed so you’ll have to have some patience. Come earlier so your rushed on time.

We came close to closing, so I wasn’t able to really experience much of the baked goods/food offerings. Much of the shelves were empty so all I ended up with was a strawberry turnover($ 1.35). It was flaky and I did enjoy the crispness. There wasn’t much filling inside, however. Small shop and the uncle working there was super nice, yet, soft spoken. I was going to pick up some pan de sal, but I still had some at home. Next time, I’ll def try more baked items when they have additional items in stock. Sampled the strawberry londres and it was pretty good! I would be interested in ordering a box for a future event.

This place has the best londres — my favorite is the Mocha. A regular box is only $ 10.75 for 24 pieces. it’s so light and fluffy you can’t eat just one :)

This Filipino bakery is on the small side. You can definitely find a larger variety of baked items at Goldilocks or some of the other Filipino bakeries in Mira Mesa. I’m not sure you can find better ube bread though. The only thing I’ve tried here is the ube bread and a raisin/walnut bread(something I hadn’t seen at any of the other Filipino bakeries). Fresh that morning, the ube bread simply melted in my mouth. It was fabulous. The raisin/walnut bread was absolutely delicious. We are still finishing both items up and they are still good. Very good bakery. Not too sure about the healthiness of these items as they taste WAY too good. Definitely a great bakery to get basic Filipino baked goods if that is your thing. Every once in a while it is my thing.
