Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches

Friendly and FAST delivery service. Delicious sandwiches! Only downside is very limited parking. When I’m at work and don’t have time to leave, I place order online and within MINUTES (seriously), they’re at my office! Such a time saver and doesn’t cost much to deliver! Thanks Jimmy John’s!

I’ve learned to really like JJs.
First thing I had to learn, they are ridiculously FAST. Which was disturbing the first few times I visited. It seemed pushy, almost rude, rushed. Once I figured out it’s truly part of what they do here I came to appreciated it. They usually have the sandwich made before you finishing paying.
Usually a gourmet sandwich is a waste for me. I’m ordering the same thing no matter where I go. A Veggie with everything. Gourmet sandwich places tend to focus on the meats. The Veggies here are really good, fresh and a nice combo if you get em all like I do. The hot pepper mix is really good too. They pull out some of the bread on the rolls which gives a really nice bread to ingredients ratio. No mustard, no mayo, doesn’t need it here.
Definitely better than that huge sandwich chain that’s around every corner. Sadly that’s usually my best option for a quick Veggie Sandwich. So I’m happy to see JJs popping up in my hood! Keep em coming Mr JJ

Thought I’d give this place a try. Not usually a big Italian sub eaters because of the meats usually involved but this is my favorite. And it truly is freaky how fast they are… I hadn’t even finished counting my coins before he handed me my sandwich

I am so impressed with this place. Very clean, very friendly staff. I got the number 10 and my friend the number 15. They were fresh, chuck full with veggies, cheese and great tasting meat. I wanted a great Roast Beef sandwich and I got it. He wanted a great tuna and got it. Yum. They have a customer for life. Be gone crappy Subway and Togo’s, you have been replaced with a place that knows how to make a terrific sandwich Oh I forgot to mention I got chips and a large drink and still got change from a twenty.

I love these sandwiches. They are toasted just ever so lightly to be crispy on the outside and you can modify whatever you want. Lots of options. Clean space. Fast service. Great location. There is parking down the street in the downtown area. Great place for a sandwich and a bag of chips.

I would give them zero stars if i could. The first time i ordered was great. i was so impressed how they delivered my food within 10 min from ordering it. Now 3 days later (today) i decided to order again… they waited 15 min to call me and tell me i wasn’t within the limit of delivery. I live 5 min away!!! I looked it up on google and i am 0.3 mi away. I’m so disappointed because i was looking forward to eating my sub.

The staff is super friendly. It was my first time being there and one of the employees explained the menu to me. I got my sandwich within a minute after ordering! The restaurant is very clean.

Service is always fast and the food is always fabulous. We were in and out very quickly!

So pleased to see this sandwich chain come into town. Stopped by for the Italian Club and it was great as the sandwiches in the midwest. Service was excellent and enjoyed meeting the owners.

Friendly staff, however I went in with my two youngsters and asked for two water cups. They had one left and he handed it to me and said oh looks like we only have one cup. I said ok and accepted it. A couple minutes later a friendly worker saw he didn’t bother to look for another cup and brought one to us. Seemed a tad lazy.
The lack of stars are actually for the food amount rather than staff and quality. I have to say, the sandwiches are pretty tasty, however the amount of meat to bread ratio is PATHETIC. I have read a few other reviews with similar issues. This was my second visit as i though maybe the first time it was a fluke… it wasn’t. I ordered a turkey sandwich with cheese for my little boys and they actually asked me where the turkey was. I had a similar situation with my roast beef. It literally contained 2 slices of meat and a crazy amount of filler (ie tomatoes lettuce etc). I am a tad bummed as I was originally excited for a sandwich shop in SC as there aren’t that many good ones.
Most likely won’t be back unfortunately.

This place is so convenient to grab a sandwich to take to the beach and the service fast & friendly. The Totally Tuna is light and refreshing on a hot day. Couldn’t resist a cookie too… sooo good.

I’m giving them one star because I ordered a BLT, which the sign promised would be great, and was incredibly dissapointed. I got mostly tough bread, with two little peices of bacon, to slices of tomato and a little bit of lettus. The two other people I was with had similar a experience. This sandwich, while it had the basics, was a disgrace to sandwich shops everywhere. It was almost comical in it’s construction, why would anyone serve that?
Unilocal took down my previous review, because they said I included irrelevant information about the owner being a trophy hunter to create a bias for my review, however I belive they misread because I clearly said I did not enjoy the sandwich, and that is why I wrote the bad review, none the less, I will not be returning.

So disappointed in this place. I found it completely ridiculous that they wouldn’t put mayonnaise on the slim sub, yet offer me a packet instead? I explained I was headed to the beach with my 2 year old and that it would be much more convenient for them to just put it on. They refused! I couldn’t believe it! They said it was «corporate policy» that they weren’t allowed to. What the heck?! I’ve worked in the service industry for over 10 years and have never heard of giving or receiving such ridiculous service. I even offered to pay extra! If I’m paying for a meal shouldn’t I just get it the way I order it? It’s just a sandwich people.
Anyway, I would have walked out and gone to Billy’s instead, but it was Fiesta and they were closed. But, I will definitely not be back. Your «corporate policy» attitude will not get you far in this small beach town — San Clemente. Lighten up Jimmy Johns and hit the beach.

When I first came into the store I thought it was actually closed (construction was ongoing). I’d never heard of this place, but thought it can’t be any worse than other chain sandwich shop. I was really surprised about the quality of the food and the portions. Granted, I ordered the «Gargantuan» which is probably bigger in portion than your average person would want. I left very satisfied and look forward to exploring some of their other sandwiches.
As an added bonus, they have these kind of cool placards everywhere which range from insightful to humorous. An excerpt from one I found particularly funny.
«Final thought for the day: Men are like fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it’s up to the women to stomp the snot out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with»

I’m so stoked that there’s finally a JJ close to San Diego. I went to grad school in Campaign-​Urbana, home of the original JJ and was hooked. When I moved to SD, I almost starved to death with out Jimmy John’s. Now I have hope!

I had Jimmy Johns up in Oregon last summer, but they finally expanded to Southern California. This place is great all the way around. Quality ingredients and in their words «freaky fast» service, which proved to be true. There’s limited seating at this location, but most people grabbed it to go it seemed during the peak lunch hour.
I shared an Italian Night Club on French bread and a Hunters Club «unwich,» which means it’s a lettuce wrap. First of all both sandwiches were delicious and the ingredients you can tell are top notch. However, the «club» size is described as «giant,» but that diction is really pushing it. As far as subs go, you can just barely call it large. And when you do the unwich it is no longer large.
The Hunters Club is ¼ pound of rare Roast beef and it’s absolutely delicious, but I probably could’ve paid for extra meat, which is an option. It would’ve brought the cost of the sandwich over $ 10, but sometimes you just want your carbs for later. It would have done the Italian Night Club sandwich a complete disservice to have it as an unwich since it works so well with the French bread. The flavor of the bread is really tasty against the Italian meats and lettuce drenched in dressing.

We found this new place on Unilocal.You can order online, which is great when you’re taking orders for the family and everyone is making their own customizations. They even let you say whom the sandwich is for when you’re ordering, and they’ll write the name on each sandwich.
I ordered the Beach club, and changed the bread to the french bread and added sprouts. The sandwich came with Avocado spread, and it was spread between the cheese and turkey, which is exactly how I make sandwiches at home (so you don’t lose the condiment in the bread) LOVED IT. The spouts added just the right amount of ‘grainy’ taste. I substituted for the French bread, which is soft and creamy.
In short, it’s a tasty sandwich, made well, and at a very competitive price. It seems like it’s a relatively new chain restaurant (at least new to me) and I think they’ll do well. I’ll keep going back, that’s for sure!

I have been dying to come here all week! Finally made it in yesterday. Their meat is high quality and the bacon is amazing!!! But the sandwich was skinny… and I didn’t get the «skinny» sandwich. Service was very nice and fast… great people working there. One huge downfall… this is a sandwich shop and they don’t carry cheddar cheese! Huh??! On top of that… when I received my sandwich, they handed me mustard packets. I had to open up the sandwich and put my own mustard on. Strange…
Overall it was okay… but not sure if I will be back. What’s a ham and cheese with no cheddar:-(

Stopped by here with the kids yesterday while in the area. Great location near the beach and Del Mar Street. Definitely beats any other sandwich chain I’ve been to. My family loved the Italian sub with the Jalapeño chips! Meat and veggies were super fresh and the workers all had smiles on their faces. Looking forward to another JJ sub next time I’m in downtown San Clemente. It was also pretty cool to see their delivery service on bikes to the local area.
