Red Hot Chilli Pepper — One of the best Indo-Chinese restaurant in bay area. I always make reservation online. A table reservation is highly recommended if you are planning to go on weekend. The food here is quite spicy and have the right amount of spices which is meant to appeal the tastebuds. The servers here are are polite and amiable. I have tried quite a few dishes at RHCP. Starting with soup, I have tried their Hot n Sour and Machow Soup. I would recommend Manchow soup over Hot n Sour. Manchow soup has a distinct aroma that reminds you of the soup that we all get in any chinese restaurant in India. From their small plates, Dry Chilli Chicken, Dry Cauliflower Manchurian and Crispy Chilli Potato — they all are amazing. Small plate portions are not large enough. I like their Calcutta Chicken, Indo China Basil Chicken, Chilli Chicken and Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce are delicious. I would recommend Indo China Basil Chicken and Chilli Chicken. They are super fantastic. From their Rice and Noodles menu, I have only tried Hakka Noodles and Chilli Garlic Noodles. The Chilli Garlic Noodles are soft, slightly on the spicier side and always cooked to perfection. I just love it! Food: 4.5÷5 Service: 5⁄5 Ambiance: 4⁄5

4.5 Stars! So we went in again. for my Husband’s birthday celebration this time. We called ahead and made sure that they had the Momos(They weren’t serving it last time we went). We had a reservation(which we made just an hour ahead), and were immediately taken to our table, they gave us a table for 4 and I am glad they did, because the chairs on the table-for-two did look very uncomfortable(Note to owners– Maybe, You should do something about this, I read another reviewer complain about them as well!) The manager personally greeted us on our table, assured us they had momos… LOL. They knew why we were there. He also ordered two of those ahead for us(because they take a while to cook). Thank you!!! Our server was very patient, given we were very indecisive and confused, he was also very knowledgable about the ingredients in various items on the menu. Finally we ordered Pan fried Tofu and Pan fried noodles in addition to our two orders of momos. Pan Fried Tofu– Delicious! I am not a big tofu fan but they did a great job taking our the soy taste of tofu and infusing it with amazing flavors — 4.5 Stars!(Deducting 0.5 stars for the portion size, we only got like 5 pieces in our plate($ 9) Momos– Drumrolll!!! …We were not disappointed, they were perfectly cooked and a delight to eat. Not to forget the very elegant presentation. 5 Stars! Pan fried noodles– hmmm… I know they look good in picture but they didn’t look as appetizing in person(Guess I need to see colors and spices in my food to for my cerebrum to register it as appetizing. Don’t blame me, its my Indian genes!!). But were pleasantly surprised by the taste :) The noodles were flavorful without being spicy and very well cooked, if a tad bit sticky. They glaze made it a self sufficient meal, and we did not need any gravy with that. 4.5 stars Finally for the birthday surprise, they got us Chocolava cake and ice-cream. When I informed them it was my husband’s birthday I was told they bring out ‘pyramid’ of some sort. I had no clue what they would bring so I left it at that. Had I known it would be a chocolava cake I would have informed them that my husband doesn’t eat eggs. Anyways the ice-cream was eggless — which the server patiently confirmed for us, so my husband had that. The choice lava cake was okay, crisp of the outer shell was completely missing. I was surprised(not-pleasantly) that they charged us for the cake– maybe things are different in US, in Canada its usually on the house. Interestingly, they didn’t charge for our second order of momos! I still wonder why, but it was appreciated! The college student inside me will never stop admiring free food: P Toilets– clean Parking–(street parking) — was harder to find since it was later in the evening Overall a pleasant experience– would go again.

I went this place with my sister at 2:17 pm and the hostess told us they were closed. I told her that it said they were closing at 2:30 pm on their website, but she said they start closing at 2:15. Inside was packed a lot of people were still eating and didn’t seem like they were going to leave soon. She could’ve taken us, it was only two people but she didn’t. That was a turn off for me, I don’t know if I would go there again.

The food, the vegetarian ones at least, are fantastic. Interesting and innovative dishes that cater to those how love heat. Service is a bit eccentric and not consistent. I actually prefer to order out as the vibe in there is a bit unsettling.

The food here is quite rich in spices oil and hotness. It’s particularly appealing to Indians around the place but others who love spicy food, should give it a try. Rhcp serves a special cuisine that evolved in Indian cities like Calcutta(yes they have a Calcutta chicken on their menu which we tried and liked). This kind of food has similarities to Chinese food in the use of soy sauce and vinegar and corn starch. However it is quite spiced up and flavorful and meant to appeal tastebuds that seek spices and heat. We also tried the chicken momo that came with a hot sauce and a fancy girl mojito that was pretty good. This kind of food should be had occasionally and in moderation but it’s fun stuff.

Ordered Hakka noodles, cauliflower manchurian, vegetable tofu stir fry and lettuce bowls. Nothing to write home about. Wasn’t flavor full. Disappointed.

Red Hot Chilli Pepper is both over-priced and oily in my opinion. I have been there a few times hoping for a good experience each time, however I always find myself leaving the restaurant unhappy. The meat is mostly flavor-less and the spice sprinkled over every dish makes them taste pretty much the same. I know quite a few people who like the place, but I feel that’s primarily because they crave for Indo-Chinese food and unfortunately have no better alternative in the bay area. I would rather not eat Indo-Chinese at all in such a situation.

Fourth time at red hot chili peppers and I still love this place. Every single thing j have tried is just absolutely amazing. Must try their crispy chili potatoes. And the strawberry lemon soda. They are both amazing.

The flavors are amazing! Loved all the dishes we ordered. Sat at the bar and took advantage of the happy hour prices. Half off on all small plates. This was a great way to try a few dishes at half the price! Definitely will come again!

This is a pathetic restaurant. The food served is cold. Every appetizer you order has the same cold sauce with cold meat. We ordered fried rice which was very oily and served after 40 min. Only thing I liked is the chocolate pyramid dessert. Everything else is a complete waste of money.

Definitely delicious and authentic Indo-chinese food, exactly the taste that I was looking for. But quite expensive and amount(quantity) of food in each serving is decently low.

A good indo-chinese restaurant is a very, very hard find so I was really excited to finally try this spot out. We came here a few weeks back and literally ordered about half of the menu. Overall food highlights: — I was excited to try the hot and sour soup — but wasn’t really impressed with the flavoring at all. This could have been a downhill spiral for me, had the rest of the food not been good. — The firecracker beef was AMAZING and not what I expected, as it’s breaded and fried it was delicious. — We ordered both the tangra and chili chicken and they were both fairly similar, but they were good. — The ribs were tender and cooked so well. — The garlic chili noodles were DELISH. — I ordered the sake sampler — the aromatic fruit flavors hit the spot. We’ll definitely check this place out again when in the area.

Went here for a special occasion. The food was just ok. Felt other Indo-chinese places in bay area had much to offer than this place. We traveled from San Jose to eat here but in hindsight, the place was not worth it. The interiors are plain and bordering on shabby. The atmosphere was noisy even on a weekday evening. The chairs in the two person table were very uncomfortable and the food was nothing to write about. All in all, a forgettable experience.

We had to turn back thrice in the past since this place is almost always full at least on weekends. All us Indians swarming from all over the Bay, from as far as Fremont for this Indo-Chinese joint. I would definitely recommend this place to someone who actually understands what Indo-Chinese is and to those who want to to give it a try. They have great options for vegetarians, too. I did not have the courage to try their dishes made with ghost pepper for which you have to sign a waiver, apparently. The spicy dishes are actually spicy tuned to the Indian palate… Something to look out for those not used to watered down versions of spicy Indian dishes elsewhere. Overall, the service and the food were pretty good and we were not dissatisfied with any aspect of the whole experience. Try the fries for sure, a nice twist to the ubiquitous.

Info-Chinese Paradise! If you are craving for Indian street style spicy and masala Chinese, this is the go-to place. One of my favorite Indo-Chinese places in Bay Area! Cool ambience and fast service. Lots of parking in the area. Very good for an evening out with friends. Do reserve your place beforehand as the restaurant gets pretty crowded on weekends. Exceptional food. We tried the following: Lycée Martini — Unique Indian flavored martini. Dry Chilli Chicken — Was so good we ordered 2 plates — a little oily but tasty. Chilli Prawn — Very less prawn pieces but heavenly taste. Black pepper chicken — juicy chicken in strong pepper flavored gravy. Chilli Garlic Noodles — soft noodles spiced to perfection. Schezuan Fried Rice — Just like road side fried rice in India. Long grained rice with tons of flavors. Chocolate pyramid — Yummy chocolate mousse. Must recommended!

Came here for an early lunch with a friend on a weekend and the place was not crowded when we walked in, although it did get super crowded by the time we finished our lunch. I love Indo-Chinese food and this place does have a good variety of items in their menu. We ordered momos, schezuan fried rice and honey chicken. I loved the momos most out of the three. Schezuan fried rice was on the spicy side as expected but the honey chicken complemented it well. Portions are quite large, it lasted us for two meals.

RHCP is already a hit and what more could I say? Well, all I still wanna do is to add more icing for the beautiful cake. And, this review is purely for Vegetarians/Eggetarians. It’s a fine dining Indo-Chinese restaurant and a perfect place for date nights. It was our(me & the hubby) 3rd time here, what a warm welcome by the staff at the reception, I was quite thrilled to notice those cute little Halloween decoration too. Love their dimly-lit soft light settings(always enjoy coming here for dinners mainly for this reason) & simple-themed-neat décor. Big fan of their Appetizers, almost every item from Veg Small Plate menu. Here’s our favorites, Chilly Baby Corn, Crispy Chilli Potatoes, Crispy Lotus Stem, Dry Cauliflower Manchurian — they all TASTEFANTASTIC&CONSISTENTEVERYTIME. Our regular picks from Big Plates menu, Hakka Noodles with Egg sides — very soft & thin noodles, tastes Amazing as ever; Vegetable Coin in Manchurian Sauce — YUM! & Szechwan Fried Rice — Good & served spicy, make sure to mention your spice level. By far we’ve experienced prompt & appreciable service, nothing much to complain on this side. Only con is to find a good parking spot as it’s a street parking. Sometimes lucky & at times, gets real tough. Quick Tip, I recommend people to do online reservation before hand, say, the same day during week nights or a day before during weekends. Helps in avoiding major wait time/delays as they are tightly packed most times. No doubts, we’re sure to be back at RHCP!

Excellent flavors; fantastic interpretation of Chinese spicy food. Not the same as Szechuan which is numb and Hunan which is green chili spicy. Ordered a spicy eggplant dish not on the menu; was lightly fried with a spicy black bean sauce. The eggplant didn’t absorb oil like the typical version of spicy chinese eggplant. They used the smaller eggplants without seeds. Delicious
