I have been coming here my whole life and im happy to say it hasn’t changed. It’s a friendly family owned business with good flavorful Mexican food. Enchiladas Suizas are wonderful, and full of flavor. Have also tried the burritos, combinations, enchiladas mexicanas, tacos, soup, Chile relleno. All are very tasty. Truly hope this place never changes. An extra plus is the tortillas and butter that come with your meal :) my favorite every time.

Sangria is really the best I’ve had in 100 places, including Mexico! I’ve asked to buy to-go liters, but won’t sell it to me! Family owned and everything family made. Simple and good food.

Great, long-time owned & operated Mexican restaurant. Always reliable and delicious. And if you ask nicely, maybe the owner will make you his someday-to-be-famous Habanero salsa.

This place is absolutely amazing! If you want the taste and comfort of a home cooked Mexican meal, then this is the place. I chose the enchilada suiza while my sisters chose the enchilada mexicana. Both were delicious, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. To drink we had their home made refreshing sangria and their ice cold orchata. Aside from the mouth savoring food, the service is wonderful! As a family owned business, they are friendly, sweet and make you feel right at home! Definitely coming back again :)

Terrible service, food was just ok. We have lived in SC for 15+ years and I love to support our local businesses but I just can’t get behind this one. So disappointed. :(

Always a choice for Mexican food on our «where do want to eat tonight?» I like the chili verde, she likes the tamales and chili rellenos. Consistently good food and good service.

Love this place. Best Mexican food ever. I was so happy to find out their beans, sauces and rice are all vegetarian! I will have to stop in more often. The enchiladas are my favorite. One green, one red! Yum!!!

This was bad. Gross. One star for ok meatball soup, but service was slow and mechanical. He’s just a kid. It seems like there are regulars here that get special attention from the chef, and maybe that’s where the big reviews come from. He ignored me. My soup was ok but very salty. Simple with small bland meatballs, celery, potato, and carrots. 3.95 for a small 4 oz cup. I also ordered the rave review chile rellenos and enchiladas suizas. They arrived on the same plate with poor sloppy presentation, and a little pile of stale green lettuce shreds that were very unappealing. The chiles were slathered in what appeared to be and tasted like straight tomato paste. It had a nasty brown tinge. The enchilada was bland and drowning in cheap sour cream. The flavor of the green sauce was just ok. To top it off, the sangria tasted old. Like rancid fruit. Fuck me if I don’t get sick. Gross and disappointing. No thanks I won’t come back here again. Also cost me $ 22 for crap Mexican food when all over are really excellent places. What is up with those 5 star reviews? Friends without taste I think. This emperor has no clothes!

I went to have lunch with a co worker yesterday and when I asked for water and the owner came back with my glass there was a dead cockroach on my glass. So I asked him if I could get another glass with no apologies at all. Then when we paid for our meal he did get upset that we split the bill and I paid wit CC. He should appreciate that I even paid at all. Never again!

The older man shook his head when I paid with cc. He claimed there is a 10 buck minimum. Really, where is the sign next to the cc stickers?! He was so rude and I will not return. Food wasn’t anything special anyway. I just can’t stand rudeness!

I love La Hacineda and have been a fan for well over 20 years. This is a small family run business with wonderful mexican food. The ambience isn’t glamourous but it’s doable and they have outside dining as well.

This place is great. Its right by the place I like to get my hair cut at. Its a great place to get a beer and bond with the homies or homie. The beer is nice and ice cold. I had a nice cold beer with David before he passed away. I think it was the first time we’ve ever had a beer together. He had his cool shades on too. It was a memorable moment. This place is greeat for building memories and its a great place to conversate in . There salsa is really good too.

My girlfriend and I have been living in San Carlos for a year now and we just stumbled upon La Hacienda. At there last night and we have found our new Mexican joint. All other Mexican restaurants seem to serve the same tasting food, but LH had something a little different that made us go YUM! I had the combination #1 and my gf has a quesadilla. On the side was the Jalapeño poppers. Wowza, can you say delicioso! Oh, and that meatball soup that unexpectedly came with the meal was tasty too. Too bad it was hot last night, so hot soup was not ideal. We did take out, but while waiting for the food I liked to coziness of the joint. I think everyone watches too much Restaurant Impossible and Kitchen Nightmare and expect all restaurants to be updated and modern. Yes, it’s nice, but some places are just better being«old.» And if you want an updated spot, are you willing to pay the increase in prices that usually follow? I agree with other reviewers that it’s a little pricey compared to others, but I think it’s worth it. I just wish they had the chip and salsa bar like the other places.

Glad to return after more than a decade — first trip here as an adult. Ordered the Fajitas Mexicanas with marinated skirt steak and a horchata water, and was served quickly. What I particularly liked here versus several of the taquerias that are closer to San Carlos Avenue was that this place was a full-on restaurant, where you can start the show just by sitting down at a table. The waiters will come to you, rather than you needing to wait in line to make an order. Been too long since my last visit. Hope to return soon. It was a trek to walk out here from work for lunch, but hey, briskly walking counts as exercise, right?

1 star is just wrong but I had to since they let these 2 men at the next table smoke right in front of the nonsmoking sign. So this was a second hand smoke lunch. The person that I was with seemed to really be enjoying them self so I did not want to be the downer but I knew I would never come back to this restaurant. I ordered 2 tacos. The beans were bland, no flavor what so ever. My crispy beef taco was drowning in the water that was separating from the canned tomato salsa mush that was slathered all over it so my shell was shot to the curb. The meat was a mystery. I toke a couple of bites and I had to stop to keep from gagging. The chicken taco was dry and also bland. So gross. I felt like I did not even eat and know you have all had that feeling at one time or another in your life, it’s awful. The worst Mexican food I have ever had in my life! Too bad cause it a cute little patio area surrounded by other little shops.
