…small and cozy… if you dine in, you get vegetable soup no extra charge… best teriyaki around and at the best price… portions are a nice size… the service is amazing… the only con is that they are not open on weekends… love their bento boxes… really good size for the price… small menu but done well… oh and will do most substitutions that are asked… come out of my way to come here and will continue to…

This place is pretty good! Nothing like supporting your local business. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with egg roll and thought it was tasty. The chicken had a nice char and was lightly dressed in sauce. I didn’t care for the salad or egg roll. But that’s because iceberg lettuce is not my thing. As for the egg roll, the taste was good but seemed bought, not fresh. i will be coming back for the chicken teriyaki though.

This place is great if you want to be serviced by a rude, racist, jerk who apparently doesn’t think all money is just as green. The woman who helped us not only served several people who came in way after us first but she also refused to help us figure out what kind of dressing they had. I once again tried to explain to her that we have had this dressing before. She turned her back on me dumped some dressing in a cup and without turning around reached back to give it to me. Complete jerk!

I have been going to this place for about six months now. I was hesitant at first because it was new, to me at least. Every time I have been here I’ve had nothing but good customer service along with good food for a decent price. The portions and flavor are consistent every time. This place reminds me of a mom and pop place that actually cares about reputation. I will continue to visit, I recommend the spicy chicken plate.

I asked for welldone, they took an already cooked piece that’s been sitting there and charred it more= chicken jerky Just to be clear it was good chicken, just dried out and old… hence the 3 stars Had horrible, painful diarrhea, but I think I lost weight, so I’m conflicted… was this a good or bad thing…

Great local Japanese place. Try the tuna bowl. Very good teriyaki too. Bowl of soup for free with your order. Stop on in.

Should’ve paid more attention to the other posts… It wasn’t bad, exactly. But it wasn’t good. I got the bento box with a crunch roll(which I paid extra for). The teriyaki chicken was decent but not great. The edamame wasn’t seasoned, salad was a little wilted, rice was standard and crunch roll was pretty bland. Customer service was just like the food — just meh. I’ll probably just go elsewhere next time… It was a little underwhelming…

This is the second time I took advice from someone at the hospital as to a nice place to eat, never again. This place needs a good cleaning, needs a better cook, lady at the register needs some people skills. What we ordered was dismal, palatable but not worth the money. As I am leave wiping my hands from the sticky exit door I am met with silence from the Boss, long drive to Claremont, Ca. I give ½ pig and a disappointing OINK !!

On paper its your typical Asian lunch spot, with teriyaki and tempura and miso combos for $ 10 or so, but after actually trying the items, you realize why the Unilocal ratings are so high. The food is good, better than your average casual Japanese lunch spots. If you work in the area, you definitely need to try it, and if you’re passing through, as I was, you will try and find a way to be back in the area, just so you have it again…

Ugh. I should have followed Brian H.‘s advice and stayed away. Got the chicken bento to go and I really regret it. It is dry and desecrated, with just a slight smell of burnt hair. I feel bad for the chicken that his body is being treated like this. Also, they neglected to give me dressing for my salad, so now the lettuce is just sitting there, staring back at me. The shrimp tempura was okay, but 2 pieces of shrimp does not a meal make. If this is Seattle’s Best Teriyaki, I don’t want any part of its worst. I really got rogered for the $ 12 I paid for my meal.

Tried this placed based on positive Unilocal reviews. Just average IMHO. Had the yakasoba(noodles) and it was very ordinary(served with rice… weird) Place was busy with lots of folks ordering take out. I’ll try again, but if average again I won’t go back.

Food is great !! I have had spicy chicken, beef fried rice, and the terayaki chicken plate. All three are goos and a good size portion. The staff is friendly and tentative.

This place is prerty damn good, I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken & Tempura. Good sized portions, of rice and salad. Not a crazy amount of chicken like some teriyaki joints but they defiantly made up for it with several large pieces of vegetable tempura. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu. One negative I see is the fact that they are closed on the weekends. Oh and don’t forget your complimentary eggplant soup by the soda machine.

Good food and cheap prices, I’m surprised more people dont know about this place. How cheap? I got a combo with a bowl of udon and six piece California roll for under $ 8. Beats lunch at any typical fast food restaurant for taste and cost.

Well I finally tried this place after having it bookmarked for close to a year. I have to admit I came in VERY skeptical because I already have my favorite teriyaki place.(western maki) I had the spicy chicken and my family had the teriyaki and beef yakisoba. The quality of the meat is excellent! Service was good enough. The place is quite small inside I wasn’t expecting that. It’s definitely worth a try. Just for my personal taste im sticking to my place. Oh! I have to say that I tried the egg rolls and they were pretty big but taste awful. But I’ve been spoiled at western maki there egg rolls are fresh and high quality delicious.

Impressive little place. For me, this is what Unilocal is all about. I would not have ever found this place without you Unilocalers! I had the Spicy Chicken which came with white rice and a side salad that was all great. I’ll be back for sure.

Just stopped in tonight for a quick to-go order since I stepped in at 7:55 and they close at 8pm. Being the lush that I am I opted to get both the chicken and beef teriyaki to check out what the fuss was about for a place that’d been so highly ranked on here. Well, I wasn’t disappointed, and if the quality of the beef was a little better it could’ve easily gotten 5 stars from me. With that said, the entrees both came with some salad with their house ginger style dressing which was quite tasty. I got white rice w/one and brown w/the other(mostly bc they ran out of white rice apparently and I was asked if I’d be ok w/brown rice). The teriyaki sauce on the chicken was ok, and the side sauce wasn’t too tasty in fact. However, the sauce used in the beef was incredible, and the fact they offered both a chili paste style hot sauce and sriracha was enough to make up for the shortcomings of the teriyaki. Overall a good place, pretty cheap as well so I can see all the reasons why folks are raving about it.
