Ordered take out and I’ll never come here again. The woman that was hostess up from during lunch was very rude. This place closes at 2pm for lunch so I come in at 1:30 to order food to go. As soon as I walk in she looks annoyed. I ask her for food to go and she says, «what do you want.» I ask if I can see a menu, she says«ya» and walks away. She hands me the dinner menu(it’s still lunch time!) she comes back and asks again«what do you want» I get the salmon lunch and ask for no teriyaki sauce. She looks at me as though disgusted and says, ‘I’ll just give it to you on the side.” She starts walking away and I’m not even done ordering! I tell her I want fried rice as well as tempura and she says, «shrimp tempura.» And walks away before I can tell her I wanted vegetable tempura. After a short time she comes back out with my food. I say thank you even though I’m super annoyed and she just nods because she’s too busy chewing on food. Worst $ 24 I have every spent. Skimpy on food and I didn’t even get my soup either! I’ll definitely stick with the wabi sabi in Rancho instead of coming here again.

My wife and I just went to dinner and Steve the sushi chef was amazing. The food is top quality and everyone was fantastic. We will be back very soon. A+

This place is in a odd location in the Walmart parking lot. We almost pasted it up. They made one of the best medium cooked filet mignon. And the they have the best fried rice and Garlic butter. They are about the same price as any teppan grills though.

Hadn’t been here in several years but remembered that Sayaka used to be THE sushi place in the IE. A friend and I visited on a Sunday evening and were sadly disappointed. The service was pretty bad. It wasn’t really our server’s fault. She was waiting most of the tables on one side of the restaurant. She was friendly enough when she finally made it over to take our order but was really running. Had to wait a fair amount of time for our order and longer for our order. The quality of the food was not what I recalled from past years and we both agreed that the place had gone downhill. Sad to say that we won’t be back.

My brother and I took my mother here for Mother’s Day. The wait was absolutely atrocious for the day. They open at 4:30, checked in at 5, was told a 45 minute wait, ended up waiting for the grill section for 1 ½ hr. I was livid, but once finally sat, my mood turned around. The experience at the grill was great, awesome chef and the food was excellent. I will be returning(going back on my word while waiting«I’m NEVER coming to this God-forsaken restaurant !» Lol). Recommend.

Sushi during the week is the best due to the lack of people and last night was no different. Mon and I sat at the bar for just the second time. The first time we sat there, Johnny was our Sushi Chief, he served up some amazing chow and he had a sense of humor. This time at the bar Chris was our Sushi Chief and he did not disappoint. The all you can eat for that price was outstanding! We started out Round One with some Salmon Tostadas, one word, WOW! Just enough spice to make you want to come back for another bite. The Jefe roll and the Las Vegas roll were the first two rolls we ordered. No sooner than they were in front of us, they were devoured. Round Two… Shrimp Tempura Wrap(soy), we are not big fans of the seaweed taste so we substitute the seaweed for sesame-seed soy wrap and it is so good… Baked lobster roll(4pc) and 911 roll. After all that goodness was taken care of, we were so full! We wanted more but decided to tap-out! The service and the food was great. We can’t wait to go back there with the Compas(Rob/Age), JP and BBP. Its a great place to relax, laugh and have some really good sushi!!! Some folks like the teppen grill, but i don’t need all the bells and whistles. So we go to the dinner area when we are with friends. But when its date-nite with my Mon, we go to the sushi bar.

This place is Great! They have a bar, sushi, dinning room and teppan grill. I have only been to the grill but I always leave really satisfied with the service, the entertainment from the cooks and the food is all really good, can’t go wrong with this restaurant. We know all four cooks from the teppan grill and they are all funny and here they cook our food by adding extra different condiments if I ask for them like more butter, chili or lemon to our food compared to Benihana. At Sayaka one time the cook made this sauce made up of garlic butter and chili for my seafood and it was soo delicious and now every time I go there I ask for it .At Benihanas I asked the cook if he would make me that same sauce and he said he wasn’t allowed to do that and that I could only have any of the two sauces they had prepared already. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone to try it out.

Went there on a Saturday night for the grill experience. It was a nice evening overall. Definitely a great alternative to Benihana. Quick drinks at the bar. Not a long wait. We were quoted 20 minutes for the wait, ended up being 5 – 10 minutes(probably the good timing). Will come back!

Went for a family birthday party and it was wonderful! We had service at one of the grills. The quality of the food was good. I had the calamari and scallops — they were perfectly cooked, and the rest of my party had steak and chicken. Everyone’s food was delicious. It’s fun to watch your meal being cooked and interact with the chef cooking it. Was a little disappointed they didn’t have the plum wine fried ice cream that is listed on the menu. I hope they have it when I go back the next time. Thanks for a tasty meal and a wonderful birthday celebration :)

We were on the road during the holidays and it was birthday, so this place was a nice treat. Not only did we have a great chef(forget name, but he’s pictured here — and he seems to be the comedic one), but we also lucked out with nice table mates, too. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection. My seat mate told the server it was my birthday, so I was treated to green tea ice cream(not bad) and a song with a tamborine. It was sweet and a nice birthday memory for me.

One star because the server was rude as Hell! Boyfriend ordered all u can eat Sushi and daughter and I ordered Sashimi dinners(2), after 30 min and a few orders of all you can eat, I decided to take a bite of boyfriends roll and she had the audacity to say I couldn’t eat his food! Ok so where is my order? And hour passes and still no dinner! So we left paying only for his order! It’s raw fish people! Seriously what was taking so long! The Sushi guy at the counter was great as well as the young man I voiced my opinion to on the way out.

Dined in for AYCE on 12÷21÷15. The male host was rude, refused to seat us where we asked him. His reason was«we have never seated anyone there». He was very rude and short. RUDE. After we were seated under 2 spot lights feeling like an exhibit, my husband asked a lady server to move us to the seats we preferred. Guess what, she moved us without a fuss or rudeness. Now THAT’S SERVICE mr. Host ! Some of us have been regular customers of Sayaka before you graduated high school Mr. Host man. And we know we can ask for better seats and have dinner enjoyably ! This host man was the very first rude employee of Sayaka and we’ve been their regulars for 10 years. He is a college-age white guy. We’ll be checking out your attitude when we return for AYCE. Maybe you should take that attitude and work in a dive bar.

Had another girls night out and wasn’t disappointed. The food was very tasty and cooked very well. The cook/chef was hilarious the entire time. My stomach actually hurt from laughing. He made this experience so enjoyable.

The service is sub-par, along with the sushi. I started and ended my meal with spitting out the first piece of sushi in my napkin and asking for the check. I asked the wife were she would like to go next, to which she replied, «The hospital!» Do not patronize this establishment! Try another local sushi place, and not this one.

I ordered warm sake bombs with Kirin light and the chicken udon dish without the chicken. The noodles had a smokey taste and were delicious. Our waitress was a little hard to understand, but the ambiance was creative and inviting. We also decided to partake in a bit of the gyoza; steamed of course. The broth provided with the app was incredibly flavorful, a bit salty, but good.

READTHISPOST! I’ll try my best to make this short and to the point: Did AYCE today & made a request to have a certain sushi chef make our food. Our server(old lady) came back with our paper & said to hand him it and let him know. Thinkin that’s odd? My gf goes up to him and gives him the paper and sort of with a temper he says«Give the paper to your server!» After explaining what she told us to do he flipped out! He literally was yelling at her(our server)…at one point he shouted«I DONTWANNATALKTOYOU!» Super unprofessional, a d*ck! & extremely awkward… mind you it wasn’t packed and jus had open for dinner, so it was quiet I’m sure everyone heard it. We were 1 second away from walking out! I never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. But we saw him already making the rolls and didn’t want to put the poor old lady server in a tougher situation… so out of respect for her we sucked it up. DEFINITELY the last time I will go there. F-ing a*hole!

Really like this place. I don’t have any complaints. Always come here with big group and there are no issues. I always order teriyaki chicken & steak with rice and salad. Good stuff!!!
