One of the best restaurants in San Antonio! The food is always excellent and the staff is so nice. We went out last Sunday for the first time since we had our baby. The server was very attentive and even offered us a free dessert! We will be back for sure.

From the outside the appearance is one of a very swanky restaurant. The interior is not much different. Truly designed to give you the feel of elegance. The bar in lower than the main restaurant and in the middle creating a neat eye catching visual. There is a large, glass-enclosed wine rack off to one corner which also catches the eye. The patio area appears to continue that feel of posh dining with mood lighting and soft curves. Very nice though quite tight or cozy. Though the restaurant looks luxurious, the service and food are certainly not even close. The servers are all dressed in quasi white tuxedos adding to the swank but their service is lackluster and their carriage more in tune with a backwoods dancehall. The service was extremely slow, I am not talking the nice, romantic slow of a high-end fine dining establishment, I am talking extremely slow. Between servers leaning on chairs as if attempting a self-Heimlich to plates and cups piling up on the table the experience quickly went down hill. When they did come to the table they would push between two people talking without so much as a muffled warning often knocking into or touch guests with plates or silverware. The service style was very rough and vikingesque. I do have to give a shoutout to the water service. That was on point. Never less than half a glass. Excellent. Once the food came out it was interesting to say the least. The portion sizes were quite different depending on the entrée you ordered regardless of the price of that entrée. Everything is individual but I do have to give it to them that many of the sides are large enough to share. The dishes themselves were sad representations of the décor of the restaurant. Tastless, bland, blah. I heard numerous individuals making similar comments. I myself had the swordfish which tasted exactly, not kidding in the least, like the plain chicken I bake for my dog. Very dry, no flavor, and tasted very much like chicken thigh. I did try a few other entrees from the others to include the stuffed shrimp and crab cake(app). Both were pretty tasty compared to the other dishes I tried. Probably the best dishes they have. The tomato and mozzarella salad was tiny and strange to say the least. Nothing like what it is designed to be. To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement and I know there is much room for improvement. My favorite part of the night was the cocktails I ordered from the bar. Those… those were amazing! That bartender had skills.

What a difference waitstaff make. Our last visit was less than stellar as we were served by an aloof waiter. This time I was worried as they sat us in the bar area on a busy Saturday night. And I had reservations. No pun intended. Don’t come here on a weekend night unless you book through OpenTable. This time Brian was out waiter and made all the difference in the world. He was attentive, provided suggestions without the upsell, and helped make this a fabulous dining experience. He even let us know we could still enjoy happy hour prices, which caused us to order the St Andre cheese plate. Some incredible warm brie cheese with panini toasts. My entrée was the Bay of Fundy Salmon. I could sweat it was a Pacific Salmon, but it comes from the Nova Scotia area. Very clean tasting and cooked very nicely with a lemon broth that complemented the salmon. For dessert we had a very nice crème brûlée.

There are a lot of times when the food doesn’t justify the price, but Wildfish is the exception. Their service is phenomenal — not too fast, not too slow. You’re allowed to enjoy all your food without any interruption, yet they are somehow immediately there when you are finished and want to pay. As for the food, I can’t say enough about it. My coworker got the Chilean sea bass and told me it’s the best they ever had. The«hong kong style» sauce and toppings made it look great. I got the Icelandic cod, which was perfectly cooked. The lemon-wine broth that it was served in added a hint of citrus flavor that complimented it very well. And the presentation of all the food was spot on. We also got the Shellfish Tower as an appetizer. The oysters were shucked well(no sand, no shell in the oyster). The shrimps were huge. Great appetizer for 6 – 8 people. When all is said and done, this place is worth the price. Spoil yourself!

So why did I wait so long in all my years of living in SA to discover this place! Well I suppose I can be a little frugal with my dining dollar choices ;) So it’s restaurant week and my girls and I decide it’s a great time to try Wildfish! Our reservation(which was a great idea for Restaurant week, not sure if it’s always necessary) was for 6:45. Two of us were early and there was NOTONE open spot at the bar. I hear they have a great happy hour, wish the swamped bartender had more help so I could have had a glass of wine or cocktail :(Anywho, the hostess sat us and we were able to order wine at the table. Wildfish offered really great choices for restaurant week, one being $ 9 glasses of wine! I found the Cabernet Savignon quite yummy! I like the opportunity restaurant week allows to try upscale places, but sometimes i have found the waitstaff can be snooty for such diners. Not at Wildfish! They were smart enough to know, if their management/owners decide to promote their restaurant during the week this is a chance to create new repeat customers. First impressions can be lasting, and theirs was great! It’s a lovely place with cozy(prob romantic with the right person!) ambience and great service. I had the Iceberg BLT, which was fantastic. For my entrée I had the salmon with baby veggies, AMAZING! dessert was chocolate mousse pie which was also yummy. My only TEENSY complaint was their coffee was yucky in my opinion. Our waitress was so sweet she offered us a fresh pot which I told her wasn’t necessary, but she insisted to let her try. Still yucky. Oh well, no one’s PERFECT! Bu! they were pretty darn close tonight!

Great reverse happy hour! We went here last Sunday around 4pm for oysters and drinks. It’s $ 1 per oyster on the half shell, which is a great deal. They are served with cocktail sauce, lemon, horseradish and a champagne vinaigrette. We housed at least a dozen and also enjoyed the potstickers. They were stuffed with shrimp and some other yummy filling and were served nice and hot. It was a slow afternoon here so we enjoyed chatting with the bartenders while dining at the bar. I would definitely like to return for another happy hour.

Awesome dinner for my team at Wildfish. Though Restaurant week menu was fantastic, everything else was superlative as well. Our waiter, John, was the consummate pro. Thanks.

Very impressive service and wait staff. There was a moment when I thought we would end up waiting for our food. The kitchen churns your orders out pretty fast. Then of course there’s all the wonderful flavors and food. Tried the scallops, crab fried rice, truffled Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, calamari and all were delicious. I would recommend all the side dishes. As for the main course it’s difficult for me to compare since I’ve never had scallops before but they were tasty. Expect to spend about $ 60 – 80 per person. We had several sides all $ 10 – 15 each and your main course will run $ 25 – 50. Very good experience.

This is a fantastic spot for dinner, here’s why: We went for a friend’s birthday dinner, and it was every bit as phenomenal as advertised to us. Service: The servers are extremely professional, and even though we were a table of only six(that grew to ten), we had a head waiter, a food runner, and a drinks waiter. Three people on one table lead to efficient service. We never had to ask for anything; someone was always looking out. Food: I had a surf and turf tartare(not the name of the dish — just can’t recall). At first I was like… Sushi lobster? But the waiter assured me it was poached and then chilled to go with the carpaccio of beef. I didn’t have anything more to eat either time I went, but his dish was a perfect combination of salty, spicy, and umami. Miscellaneous: Wildfish is in the middle of an odd plaza that is not only weird to navigate but also isolated. The two times I’ve been there(weekday nights), I haven’t been able to park on their lot and had to walk pretty far in a dark sketchy lot.

Service was excellent. I thought I had made reservations online earlier in the day(guess I forgot to hit that last enter to finish the reservation.) I called to let them know we were running about 10 minutes behind and found out I didn’t make the reservation. The young lady said it was no problem, they would have a table ready in the bar area. True to their word, we were quickly seated in the bar. The fact we caught the end of happy hour didn’t hurt either. Taylor was our server and she was very attentive. The husband and I shared a glass of prosecco. The Cesar salad was different. It required a knife to cut the perfectly arranged romaine leaves. There was a layer of thin croûton and a thinly sliced piece of Parmesan. The flavor was there, I just prefer not to use a knife when eating salad. I ordered the redfish and he ordered he chicken for entrées. I asked for the redfish to be blackened. I’m not sure that it was, but it was still delicious and I ate every bite. The chicken was plated in a nice stack. We also made sure that plate was clean. The crab fried rice was yummy. Lightly seasoned to match the flavor of the crab. Would definitely come back to try more seafood.

Wildfish has always ranked on my top list of restaurants for years and that has not changed. I love the ambiance of the restaurant and the coziness of sitting outside on the patio under the heating lamps. It had been over a year since my last visit and I was very excited. We started with an app of Lobster tacos and they were so good, that we ordered some to go along with the crab fried rice. For our main courses, we opted for the redfish with crab, my go to staple of Hong Kong Seabass with a side of the best sautéed spinach I have ever had and the most amazing truffle mac and cheese with visible chunks of truffles. A lot of restaurants offer a molten cake, but they don’t have the Godiva cake and it is by far the best molten cake out there. As for the service, it was ok. Our waiter was Gregory and while he was funny, he didn’t give me the fuzzies, but he was cool. However, the server assistant Raphael was just amazing! When he presented our food, it was done so with a flourish and a dazzling smile. He was very attentive to our needs and had taken care of us more than Gregory had. At the end of the day, while service is definitely a plus, I mainly care about the food and if you haven’t been to Wildfish, you need to make a plan to do so, like today.

My wife and I chose Wildfish to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Boy did we do good! This place was everything we hoped for and more. Beautiful restaurant, attentive staff and delicious food. The oysters, fish special and tuna were scrumptious, and to top that off, we had bananas foster — out of this world. A new favorite and it should be yours too. Thank You Brian and Wildfish Seafood. You nailed it.

Overall Great! I love to sample… and they had Chef’s Tasters. These are served during happy hour as appetizers and are $ 5.00 each. They small portions of dish specialities that serve two. They had five in the selection… and I ordered all five. 1. Beef Tataki — this was beef slices, portobello mushrooms over noodles. The sauce is at the bottom of the bowl and is very flavorful. No complaints… it was delicious! 2. Oyster Fondue — the Oysters were very large and succulent. This was my favorite of the five dishes. 3. Salmon Tartare — I’m not a fan of raw and this was my least favorite. It was okay. I’m not the best judge of this type of dish… as I don’t care for it in general. 4. Shrimp Katafi — Two large crusted shrimp. They were moist and cooked perfectly-fantastic! 5. Amuse — This was six potato fritter balls. Very flavorful and my second favorite item served. I also ordered two appetizers at the reduced Happy Hour price. 1. Crab Cake $ 13.00 …it was about 6 inches round. This sautéed lump crab meat is prepared Maryland Style and served with a spicy chive Remoulade. Great! 2. Calamari $ 12.00 …it was served Kung Pao Style with roasted cashews and crisp noodles. The Calamari was the most tender I have ever had and the portion is easily enough for four. 3. Bananas Foster Cake $ 9.00 — this was excellent and served with Butter Pecan Ice Cream and Heavy Whipping Cream. The beverage was Iced Tea $ 3.25 — Not worth $ 3.25, actually not worth $ .25. this was flavorless and diluted by ice. Not bad enough to reduce by a star because … the wait staff was fully engaged. By that I mean informed, timely, attentive and personable. A cut above the robotic wait staff that get it done with a no-frills, here’s your food attitude. If you get there early … 4:30pm you can easily get a parking space otherwise plan on circling or use the valet.

Came here with a large group and everyone left stuffed. Tim Duncan was there the day that we went, just a random fyi. Would get again: Crab cakes — tons of crab and the crispiness of the batter is perfect steak and lobster tartare — dont care much for the steak but the lobster is good King Salmon Entrée Florida Grouper Raw Oysters Scallops — you get 5 not the usual 3! Swordfish cooked medium — best fish dish of the night HK seabass bananas fosters crab fried rice calamari Decent: Tuna Tartare — not enough flavor but mango was sweet Berry Pie Dessert Fried Shrimp Appetizer Yellowtail sashimi New York Strip broccolini brussels sprouts Skip: Ahi Tuna Upside down pineapple cake — its the same as the bananas fosters but too sweet Snapper special — was too dry lobster bisque

Today my husband and children took me to Wildfish Seafood Grill for Mother’s Day. They had a Mother’s Day Brunch Menu for $ 49.00 which provided an option for four starters; my husband and I opted to start with the Fried Green Tomatoes which were served with Lump Crab Remoulade. Yummy! My husband did a carbon copy of what I ordered. For the main course, mothers were given an eight item choice, which I thought was rather nice. We had the Scottish Salmon Sautéed with Vegetables and a Mustard Vinaigrette. I have had this before and loved it as much this time as I had the first time. The Salmon is always cooked to perfection and the vegetables are cooked tender crisp and float on a mouthwatering soup like mustard vinaigrette. Each of us decided to get the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée which included their Brown Sugar Crust and Homemade Cookies. We were served by Nick who was knowledgeable when asked questions by my son and daughter regarding food preparation. He was observant and knew when we needed refills on our tea. My daughter ordered the 8oz Center Cut Filet Mignon… I know… steak at a seafood restaurant, but she is a carnivore and usually won’t pass up an opportunity to have a well prepared Filet Mignon. Nick did not flinch at her when she asked for«A-1 sauce». This is not because the meat needed it; she is a creature of habit and loves A-1 on any steak so no offence to the chef! The food was fabulous! I have been here for happy hour many times and have enjoyed their Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Crispy Salt & Pepper Shrimp and their Calamari which are served with Crisp Noodles; all of these have been outstanding at a discounted price during their Happy Hour~
