My family visited the restaurant yesterday for the first time based on the reviews. The service was fast and we got our to go order in no time. We tried their specials of General chicken and Orange chicken with fried rice and egg roll. I agree with some of the reviews about the portion size being enormous, especially the meat portion. The food smelled good in the car, but once we got home the taste did not live up to the expectations. The flavor was bland. The Orange chicken did not an orange flavor and the general chicken only had a spicy taste. It was like something was missing. The meat was coated with sauce, but no extra sauce. It was missing the crispy batter outside and lacked taste. The fried rice was color rice with some peas and carrots with no onions and lacked flavor also. Unfortunately with the experience we had, we will not be returning.

My hubby and I love this place! Their food is always on point, hot crispy and delicious. Great staff and prices. We no longer live in the downtown area but still make the trip.

This was my go to place for some Chinese on the east side. It is a great place for inexpensive decent Chinese food. The portion sizes are enormous! I usually eat half for lunch and save the other half for dinner. This place is always packed for lunch and dinner and their sesame chicken and almond chicken are always good options to start with. I wasn’t too impressed by their fried dumplings but the egg roll you get with your order is consistently good. If you are a repeat customer, the grumpy Asian guy who usually takes your order starts to grow on you and might even share a joke it two with you. Another good thing about this place is that it had a drive thru so if you place a phone order you can avoid the lines and Texas heat and pick up you order in 30 min. Consistently good and inexpensive.

Simple Chinese food. Two big dinners for under $ 20. Friendly owners and staff. Great find on the way to Freeman Coliseum and ATT Center

I pulled in on impulse and as I was parking I began to have second thoughts. But I’m stubborn and willing to take risks. Plus I was on my lunch break and didn’t feel up to driving around. Order at the counter, pay, and take a seat. The staff was friendly and service was fast even though they were obviously busy. I had the General Chicken and it was delicious. Could of used a bit more heat so I heaped on the chili sauce(you’ll have to ask for it). It was $ 6 for eggroll, rice and entrée. I left feeling satisfied and will definitely stop in again. It was definitely better than the Jack in the Box on the corner. I will definitely be back.

This place had such promise – hole-in-the-wall, actually staffed by Asians, proper Chinese restaurant name, traditional Chinese-American dishes on the menu – all the characteristics that could make it great. But alas, the Hunan Chicken was awful. First problem was the chicken itself; they used chicken breast strips rather than the more common whole chicken, skillfully dissected and then pounded out.(Sure breasts are healthier, but it throws the texture all off.) Next was the sauce, much too sweet and haphazardly splashed on top of the breast rather than cooked with it. Finally the rice… closer to those«Tai Pei» frozen meals than authentic. So I suppose the search continues for a decent take-out chinese place in San Antonio. I’ll probably go back just to make sure I didn’t hit it on an off night, but I was quite disappointed.

The food was hot and fresh. A generous serving for a reasonable price. It’s not a fancy place to eat if you’re looking for fine dining but the food is good but not a drive out of the way for. It is my favorite though for a general Chinese food resteraunt.
