Best fried pickles ever! If I ever see fried pickles on a menu I HAVE to order them! These are hands down the best. They pickle their own cucumbers, slice them thin and lightly batter. So yummy! BUT, The other food I’ve tried here is just not good… If you just want fried pickles and beer, you must go here! Skip everything else.

Burgers, unfortunately without much restaurant flare. Without a doubt, the burgers are good burgers. We had a greek burger which I actually appreciated being on a thin slice of flatbread(I prefer what’s inside the bun as opposed to the bun itself) and a stuffed burger. Both were incredibly good and filling… don’t get the stuffed burger unless you’re starving! Our server was extremely nice, attentive, and made great and honest suggestions. So, my reason for the 3 stars? We went on a colder day, I could see it would be a much better experience sitting outside on a warm day near the bar, but inside is just very blah and kind of kills the deliciousness of the burgers. There are a few TVs which don’t play the volume of the game(which I would highly recommend considering the lack of sports bars in San Antonio that actually serve food… and are clean). The music just sort of plays in the background, there isn’t much to look at, the tables and chairs are just basic and nothing comfortable. There is really nothing happening inside that would make you want to stay and order another drink(which are well priced). I’d only go back if I could sit outside, but with the outdoor seating hangouts in San Antonio, it would still be tough.

Place is great, cool vibes and décor, relaxed atmosphere. Hey has 2TV’s to watch the game on when we went on a Sunday early afternoon. We sat ourselves and it wasn’t too busy. The waitress was patient with us as we took our time deciding on our burgers. We had the honey BBQ bacon, the blue cheese vinegarette and the flats signature burger and they were all fantastic. These burgers are second only to The Esquire in downtown. I would highly recommend stopping by and by the way, the prices were amazing!

This is my first visit to this place. I saw this place on the tv show Texas bucket list and it look amazing. When I first walked in I was greeted and told to sit down at any table. The waiter came to greet the two of us and provided the menu he was very friendly. I ordered the Honey BBQ bacon burger with fries. This burger was everything I expected it to be. It was juicy with BBQ sauce, grilled onions, pickles and almost forgot the two slices of yummy and crispy Apple wood bacon all of these in between very good burger bun. I also tried their Sangria and it was delicious. The waiter was very very attentive with us and that makes a big difference in my book. The place is very casual and inviting and it also a bar outside and plenty of tables outside. It seems the age group is between 20s and 30. You have to try this amazing place it’s worth every penny. Two thumbs up! Best burger so far

I feel like I won the burger lottery tonight. The Balsamic Blue Cheese Burger is easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Totally unexpected. If you are in San Antonio and don’t eat this burger, you are failing. The outdoor patio is pretty awesome as well.

The outdoor patio looks like it could be a lot of fun on a night other than Sunday. I ordered the Chicken Nachos. The portion size is very large and could be shared by 2 – 3 people. As far as nachos go, there isn’t much you can do to ruin them but they weren’t the best I’ve had. Next time, if there is a next time(I live in Ohio), I’ll try one of the burgers since they seem to draw rave reviews.

So I am very guilty of only trying this place for breakfast. I need to go for dinner. So for those of you who are interested in a brunch spot, read. They serve seasonal dishes, also with their regular dishes. Sweet Potato Pancakes– Is one of my favorites, it may sound a little bit odd and not so much as a fun breakfast choice but trust me it is! The pancakes are sweet but not too sweet. They’re flavorful and delicious. They fill you up immensely. They add pecans and raisins for that extra crunch — compliments the sweet potatoes perfectly! I like their other breakfast items and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, but this one particularly is one that stands out and makes Tycoon Flats a little more special :) Don’t forget to order a mimosa! You won’t regret it!

Wow! First and foremost the service was amazing! I am here because my fiancé is stationed here at fort sam wanted to visit for New Years! We ordered the trio burgers and they were super flavorful. Typically I’m not a big burger fan but they lived up to the hype. Well done, well done. He had the the Mexican burger, BBQ bacon burger with over easy egg, and flat signature with a fried egg. I had 2BBQ bacon burgers and one flat burger. The BBQ was the best. Also BLACKEYEDPEAS to taste! They plan on adding it to the menu. Others at the restaurant who didn’t like beans loved them! We got 3 cups to take home to share with his family! Staff was super friendly! Owner and manager checked on us. As the described what was on the menu they were so precise and you know they know exactly what’s going on in the kitchen! We will definitely be back!

I tried this wonderful place yesterday with a friend of mine. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. With the warmth of the evening, my friend and I opted to sit outside. Very family friendly type of place. They have a decent craft beer selection though I was disappointed that they had run out of Busted Sandal El Robusto Porter. But, no biggie. We chose to dine on burgers as they are most popular for that particular culinary delight. I had the Honey BBQ Bacon Burger which was absolutely delightful. I had mine well done and it still was pretty juicy, not dry at all. I substitute sweet potato fries for the regular. They were pretty good but needed a little more salt but it’s an easy fix. My friend had the Mexican burger with guac and he said it was really good. Juicy and full of flavor. For alcohol, he opted for homemade Sangria and I had the St. Arnold’s Oktoberfest. Sangria was very good and refreshing especially on a warm winter evening. Our server was excellent, very friendly, willing to explain anything to us. Overall, this place is an excellent restaurant if you want to have great burgers, music, and good craft beer. I’ll definitely be going back for more!

Flats is one of the coolest little neighborhood pubs I’ve ever found! We moved into the area recently and friends immediately recommended TF. We love their cheeseburgers and especially the WINGS. Best I’ve had in San Antonio so far! They have a huge patio nestled under shady trees, a bar with several rotating craft brews, usually have great music there on the live stage in the weekends. We have found ourselves there on many nights and have never been disappointed. One night, it was pretty chilly and our group wanted to brave the cold and sit outside. They were happy to brew us fresh coffee for Irish Coffees and after a while a staff member brought out a little space heater and asked if we’d like a little more warmth! Officially my favorite pub in SA

Might be a good spot. I’ll never know because they didn’t serve us our meals. After coming here for a friends birthday brunch we sat, talked and laugh, through our drinks for an hour and half before the management came and told us they ran out of eggs and/or ingredients and offered us a discounted meal. After ordering over an hour ago we we’re offered chips and salsa which were fair quality and tastes fresh. The food might have even been tasty. They blamed a busy Sunday brunch while the place was maybe 65% full in one’s opinion. In addition, they stated«they were under staffed». While in a business these are all things that may occur, and possibly all at once. How to succeed is what one might do in the face of such issues. This establishment faltered and I won’t subject myself, nor recommend anyone else, to experience this work ethic again.

Happened upon this place by accident, but the burger was tasty. There was a picture on the wall that peeked my interest, seem unique to the establishment. Our waiter was fast and made recommendations which is always helpful on first visit. Will be back, but next will definitely make time to have a beer.

My first visit to Tycoon Flats today, left me wanting to return! I enjoyed Monday’s special Monte Cristo Burger. Surprisingly, delicious with a mixture of flavors with Raspberry jam on a burger with Canadian Bacon that was lightly battered, a deliciously moist half pound burger on a bun. Served with fries. $ 10.95 The fries were ok, but I believe steak fries would be better.

Shaded patio, live music, extensive bar selections, and great burgers make this place a new go-to for casual bar fare. The inside seems a little small but if you continue through the backdoor or around the outside, diners will get a chance to see the full patio experience. The staff are always busy but good at what they do. They interact with customers and seem to enjoy their work. The bar has plenty of TVs for sports fans and the live music isn’t extremely loud since a good portion of the sound dissipates into the open air. As for the food and drink, I would recommend the burgers and the beer. The draught selection is very good and they have a beer to make most drinkers happy. The quality of the burgers is exceptional as well. I have gone with the bacon balsamic blue burger($ 11.85) and the Mexican burger($ 10.85). Both had top quality beef and some perfectly paired toppings. The cheese and pico on the Mexican was the perfect mix of hot and salty with cool and refreshing. I would recommend either and I can’t wait to try some others. This place is definitely one to add to your bar/burger joint short list in San Antonio. They offer a lot of great beers in a great atmosphere. The parking lot is small and hard to navigate when it is full. They offer a playground for kids. And the staff are great at what they do.

Very friendly service. No wait for seating and reminded me a lot of the cove, only a tad smaller. I ordered the chicago hot dog and a pbr. Both hit the spot! During my visit they were busy but not packed. And service was quick which was awesome! The band was sitting up and I liked that they had an outdoor bar as well. Plenty of seating and huge fans to keep you cool in the heat of the day. Great spot! I’ll visit again

I dined at TF for the first time in about 3 years only to receive the worst service ever thanks to a waiter named Noah. I’ll be brief and concise. Here are some things Noah did wrong: 1. I ordered my burger with mustard, no mayo. He brings me my burger. I ask him where’s the mustard. He said it’s on the bottom of the burger. He takes off. I take a bite of my burger only to find out that my burger contained mayo. I take my plate to the other wait staff and informed them of the error. 2. Noah arrived to my table to offer what I thought was going to be an apology for the mistake. Ummm… nope! Instead of owning up to his error and taking accountability of putting mayo on my burger, Noah decides to throw the cooks under the bus by telling me it was their fault. I know mistakes happen and I don’t know much about the restaurant business but I do know a thing about teamwork and what Noah demonstrated proved to me he was a very poor team player and decided to pass the buck instead. 3. The burger with the mustard and all of the fixings I requested came to my table. The burger was really dry and wasn’t as good as the previous times I’ve been here and the fries were lacking. 4. When I told him I wanted to order a shake, he tells me they don’t have shakes despite it being offered on the menu. 5. I then asked for my check and here’s another smart thing Noah did: he brings me the wrong check then took off. I sent the check to the waitstaff and informed him of Noah’s mistake. Noah brought me the correct tab without any apology. Even better, he charged me the full price for my drink order instead of the happy hour price as stated on the menu. So after that experience, I’m gonna have to say that Tycoon Flats has lost a customer for good.

Ive always liked Tycoon Flats. Their burgers and sweet potato fries are exactly the kind of yuminess everyone needs. After finding out recently they they now offer weekend brunch I went with two other girls for a Saturday-funday. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs, bacon and pecan pancakes. The pecan pancakes were amazing! I also tried out their screwdriver and bloody Mary. Out of the two the bloody mary was my fav. Just the right amount of heat. We will definitely be back for another weekend brunch. Their menu says on Sundays they have frozen mimosas, yum!
