I went during brunch on last Sunday and it was good but not great. The strawberry mimosa was fantastic and the food was good but. .. it just didn’t make me jump for joy. I had the crab cake eggs benedict. The hollandaise was AMAZING but the benedict was on heavily buttered toast instead of an english muffin and the two rather small crab cakes were to the side instead of stacked, making that messy meal even more difficult to eat. This was my first time there and I give everything a second chance so maybe it will be better next time.

I’ve been here a few times now– once for brunch, at least twice for tapas and wine. The service has always been excellent, and the food has yet to disappoint. Definitely looking forward to dinner again soon.

This is the second checkin I’ve done here and the last. There mimosas are great– don’t get me wrong and the server was mediocre– when I asked for salt she said that she always liked salt even when the food was perfectly salted– it wasn’t — in fact the toast was not toasted the poached egg was cold the hash was frozen curly fries the hollandaise sauce tasted from a jar and the crab cake was burned, mushy and very fishy. 18 dollars for a gross plate of food– stay away people! If I where to go back it would be to have mimosas but I would make sure to stop by McDonald’s for some food before– there eggs are better and that’s saying something!

The best place! The mimosas were great and the Benedict eggs were fantastic! It will be better if they would have french cheeses and croissants, because it supposed to be a french restaurant. But the food is great!

Called ahead by an hour for brunch made a reservation. Showed up the wait was 20 – 30 min. Shame looked good. Management needs to figure out what«reservation» means Probably won’t go back.

Environment was nice, drinks were great, music was great, service was good, but the food was overcooked and burnt. I have been there before right when they open for the brunch and it was great but this time it would have been great if the food wasn’t burnt.

Came here for a brunch with a huge group for a friends birthday. They have free mini blueberry muffins and they were delicious. For breakfast I prefer savory over something sweet and if you’re vegetarian it could be hard to find something on the menu. I didn’t want plain eggs because I could get that anywhere so I decided to get the migas since it didn’t say on the menu that there was any meat in it. When my food came, there was definitely meat on my plate. The staff was really nice about it and brought me vegetarian migas later. So if you have any specific dietary restrictions I would ask first because it may not be listed on the menu.

We have not been back to Tost for years. Once upon a time it was a favorite. We heard a rumor that the new owners(this might be number four or five in the last three years) had upgraded everything. Unfortunately, everything was just okay. The wine list was irregular. There was not enough variety at the low end and the middle end of the price range. There were too many bottles at the higher end. There were not enough choices by the glass. The brussel sprouts salad had potential, but was overwhelmed with too much bacon and too much cheese. The brussel sprouts were hidden. The french onion soup did not have a real croûton on the top. There was just a sprinking of cheese, and it came out lukewarm. And it was supposed to accompany my wife’s salad, but it came out several minutes later. There was an excuse, but the restaurant was not busy enough to have irregular outcomes. My wife’s pasta dish was not hot. The flavors were good, but it should be hot. My risotto was good and the salmon that accompanied it was quiet good. The restaurant might make it, but I don’t think that the owners(who I think were on-site) are paying enough attention to the process of delivering the dining experience. I think we will wait before we decide to go back.

Exquisite! Must try the Saturday brunch special as well as the myriad of the full bar bonanza specials! The only place in San Antonio that serves Hibiscus Mimosas and Tropical Hot Bacardi and hot Apple Cider Bourbon drink. The new menu is eclectic and Chef Ray will in person make sure your selection is beyond expectations. Bravado to the new owners and a true jewel to the neighborhood!

Came by this restaurant by chance and what a wonderful surprise it was. Chef Ray and the ownership had a delightful dinner special benefiting the Red Cross efforts in France. Our waiter, Kristof, was courteous and attentive throughout the entire meal. The food was 10⁄10. We will be back for sure! Great little hidden gem.

Went for Sunday brunch. We were promptly greeted and seated. Service was excellent, but out appetizer was quite slow to come out of the kitchen. The server gave us a second order of the same for free. I had the Frenchie 75 which was excellent and then the chicken and waffle. My wife had the salmon which was also good. The atmosphere was nice, but very busy. The owner was so busy he had to bus tables himself rather than talk to the patrons. I really want to go back. Definitely better food and service than the last owner. I am very hopeful for their success.

I checked this place out a few weeks ago for brunch with my girlfriends. I’ll start from the beginning. When we walked up the restaurant did not look that appealing but we’ve heard good things about it and decided to give it a shot still. The hostess was a little girl who was probably 10 or 11 years old. She told us there was no seating available and attempted to turn us away. We very hungry and suggested we could sit outside even though it was still a little wet from the rain. Once sitting our waiter came to greet us. He was a very nice man albeit a little lost when we had questions about the menu and drinks. He explained he was new and would have to find the answer to our questions from someone else, which was disappointing. The mimosas and Bloody Mary did not let down and were very tasty. We ordered numerous carafes. The nice thing about the mimosas was that it wasn’t just orange juice, we had options of mixing other juices such as: strawberry, cranberry, pineapple, and raspberry. The food while good was not something I’d necessarily brag about. My chicken and waffles were a little dry for my taste and the pancake plate looked very sad. My favorite thing we tried was the crab beignets. They were absolutely delicious but very very tiny and overpriced for their size. Major brownie points for having a coupon if you check in. I will most likely try this place again to give them a second chance or to just return for the delicious mimosas.

This place just hired the tastiest and innovative chef recently. We’re sad to see him leave our area. Your palettes are not prepared for the new executive chef, Chef Ray!

I have heard that the new Executive Chef here is Ray Delosreyes. He is a young and exciting chef, who I feel has an art for blending spices and flavors in a unconventional yet amazing way. I have tried in the past to say that he has a specialty in a certain style only to be surprised by the touch he brings to other styles. He is a chef that you can not put in a box unless that box is labeled«impress me». The addition of Chef Ray to this location, should do nothing less than to put this place on your hot spot list. Short and simple, you must come here! We popped in on a whim. It’s not far from where we live and my husband I have thought about stopping by before. Today we saw the Happy Hour sign and decided — what the heck. We were going to do appetizers and a drink and then go home and make steak. Buuuut, I ended up ordering the crab beignets and although my hubby wanted bacon-wrapped quail he ordered the shrimp risotto. The food, «OMG» the food was deliciously amazing. And they even threw in an appetizer(chicken & spinach stuffed potato skins). We were in la-la land. This was the best meal we’ve had out since we arrived in SA. Last but not least… the dessert was rich & fabulous. Try the signature Tost cake and or the Pear William. We spoke with the owner(Stephen) and the chef(Walter) both quite hospitable and friendly. By far Christoph(maitre de’) was ‘the bestest’, he was friendly, funny and witty. Gentlemen, thank you for a wonderful dinner and inviting environment. Chef Walter, we shall return to try more of your works art. ~Merci Beaucoup~ Tina & Tabarus(T&T)

I don’t get it. To be fair, nothing I had was BAD, but nothing I had was great. The first clue should have been that they offered ANY reservation time we wanted for NYE when everywhere else in town was booked solid. That’s what I get for waiting too long to make a reservation. When we walked in, the place was EMPTY, save for two people at the bar. We’re finally seated and order a wine. They’re out of the wine we want, but have a different style of wine available for double the price. Of course. Our oysters Rockefeller were undercooked(or something) and the texture was terrible. They weren’t really edible. The Brussels sprout salad wasn’t terrible, but was SUPER salty. I love salty things, but holy crap, this was overwhelming. He ordered his steak medium rare, came out medium well. My lamb was cooked properly, at least! The green beans were damn good, but green beans almondine? Really? $ 150 for a completely unimpressive meal. Save your money.
