This has to be one of the most frustrating places to visit… on Valentine’s Day 2016 my wife and myself was staying at the Marriott river center and decided to visit Tony Roma’s and the girl taking reservations was one of the rudest people I have had to deal with… I asked for a table for two and she snapped I don’t have a table for ten I informed her I needed it for two not ten… she then went on to inform me that she has a list I asked how many people are on the list she informed me four people were in front of myself… I said excellent and provided my name and cell number as asked and she sighed and said it will be more then twenty minutes… so let’s put this in perspective here was a girl who put my name and cell number on her list yesterday at 4:30PM and here it is 6:00PM Monday and still no call or text informing me that my table is ready… my advise to Tony Roma’s is they need to train their staff how to handle paying customers… It is really easy just be nice and follow thru with the task at hand… UPDATE to the following review here it is one week later and I am still waiting on my table… Good Job Tony Roma’s…New Update I was contacted today by Robert via Email and it was a apology and he has rectified the situation if more companies had employees that cared as much as he did then customer satisfaction would improve tremendously once again Thank You Robert you went beyond the call of duty

I really enjoyed eating here outside near the water with my boyfriend. The service was great. We will definitely be back.

I have been going to TR for years — and just recently returned from 10 years abroad where I went to TR in Belfast Ireland as much a I could. I decided to take my wife to the one in San Antonio at the Riverwalk Center. I do not know if it was because of the time of day(we were among the first customers before the lunch rush on a Saturday), but service was slow, simple stuff like drinks refilled when food was almost gone etc… The ribs were burned badly underneath so we could only eat half the meat. Could not complain because the waitress barely made it to our table, by that time we were starving and opted to just deal with it. I for one will not be returning, hope your experiences are better.

The ribs were skimpy and served cold. The medallions were also small and not as pictured in the menu. The sauce on the medallions was also on my sides and took over the plate. Other than that we had a good server and good tasting food.

Wow, not sure what happened to this place. We got there and were given a table next to a table that had spilled water all over the floor. I asked if we could get a different table and was told no because it was for a reservation. They made no effort to clean the water and we were stepping on it the whole time. Took forever to get a server. Once we got our server he was very nice. Our food was ok. My son really enjoyed the beef ribs but my baby back ribs were cold. We have no plans on going back to thus place. They have to work on the cleaniness of the place.

On 12÷5÷15 we went to this location to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, we picked this restaurant because of the excellent food, and we got the worst server in this restaurant. Our drinks were not brought to us correctly, we sent them back. I requested lemons, more bread, and water and we were not brought these items. I did not enjoy my meal because of this server. Two other tables that were seated after us got their meals before us. Our 30th wedding anniversary meal was a disaster because of the service I received. I will not be returning to Tony Roma’s because of the poor service. If I could put a negative score I would. –Judy D.

Very disappointed as we ALWAYS go to Tony Roma’s when we visit San Antonio… However after the past couple of visits… It may be our last. The food today was awful… The beef ribs my husband ordered were fatty and tasteless… My burger was prepared well and tasted alright but the bun was so hard I just ate the patty… And this was after we sent our cold food back… for the price we paid it was a Big Disappointment! Where are the tasty ribs and hamburgers with delicious sauces that we use to have… please return to what made you all famous! Beware also if you want to enjoy the river walk and sit outdoors you will have to deal with the very aggressive birds… not very appetizing! Update… I Was asked to call the corporate office … I did and was told they would call me back… Never did!!! I note that others are asked for the same feedback… Still the same concerns and bad reviews… Never any change!!! I want this location to go back to where it was… But with the consistent bad reviews I have my doubts… Do they even care ???

My husband and I went here expecting a terrific experience. On the Riverwalk. Close to many competing steakhouse’s in the area… Being San Antonio Texas, if you offer steaks or BBQ you better be good. Or you will get a review like this! We passed up Ruth Chris to eat here… Bad move. The service was poor. And the food was mediocre at best. We both got ribs, the specialty. They were over cooked and dry… Terribly overpriced for the quality. Maybe they do better with steaks. But with all the amazing other places to eat in San Antonio, I won’t be back to find out.

This eatery is located in downtown San Antonio, TX. This eatery is located right next to a mall. The restaurant is also near the famous San Antonio river walk. The place from the outside looked clean, professional looking and a hostess outside the restaurant to greet incoming customers. Upon visiting a few days ago, during the week, the server seated me right away and provided a menu. Additionally, he took the time to point out the soups of the day and point out the lunch menu. Before ordering, the server brought out some of their house bread with butter. Didn’t even need to ask. The server was on it. During lunch hours which are open to 4pm, they offer unlimited soup and salad for a fixed price of about $ 10.00. I ended up ordering this deal which also included various salads and soups to pick from. I went with the Cesar salad and potato soup. Both items were freshly made each time and their taste was fresh, tasty and offered some flavor one enjoyed. The server was responsive, consistent and provided refills to my water without hesitation. Their prices range from about $ 9.00 for a sandwich or burger to $ 30.00 for a steak. They also have nice leather and comfortable seating booths. I personally enjoyed the booth during conversation. There is outside patio seating also available which overlooks the river walk, but the seating area is not covered. One negative: during my visit, the hostess had the main door open at times. This allowed for flies to enter the eating area. Not cool. Not sanitary either. Although, my conversation was far more important therefore, I did not advise staff. Overall, the food was good, tasted fresh and the service was good, but the flies in the restaurant and staff members lack of awareness to see flies inside the restaurant was alarming.

The food was good, but not that good. Too expensive and the place smelled like wet rags. Like when you dry your clothes but not all the way, that smell… Kind of disgusting. And the dos Equis taste watered down, flat I guess. Like bud light.

Had a Texas burger for lunch and it was delicious. The fried jalapeños and grilled poblano that came with it completed the flavor of the burger with just enough fire. The fries could be better though. They were just a tick above McD fries.

The hubs and I were on Vacay with our daughter. We have never been here before(at Tony Roma’s). After reading all the reviews(and being in the restaurant business myself) I decided to go ahead and give it a try although leary. We came in Friday night about 9 or 9:30 pm, We were vey thirsty, I am not sure who the waiter was, only that he was fairly new. He was nice, attentive and on point. He made sure we had plenty to drink which is a plus. #1 rule: MAKESURETHEDRINKSAREALWAYSFULL. Which he did! We had questions about the cruise and dine, he got us help as he was not familiar just yet. Our food was great, on time, warm. I would def. come back if in S. A again.(we could have easily went to a few other more comfortable choices on the river walk but decided to go here and I am glad!)

This is based solely on my visit here. 1) The place smelled like a rotting baby’s diaper the day I went. So much so, that I asked to sit outside. Even then they had the door propped open and the smell followed to our table. My husband said he couldn’t really smell anything, but I have a sensitive nose. 2) The waiters were jerks. We had two different ones, and one guy kept looking around at other people when we were asking questions and trying to give our order. It was nothing short of rude. 3) My order came out wrong. I asked for a small ceasar salad(because I had planned on splitting my husband’s meal), and the waiter charged me for a large. 4) Oh, and somehow the waiter brought out a bill for $ 59, even though it should have been $ 19. WHOMAKESTHATKINDOFMISTAKE?! 5) The manager was actually a really nice guy who attempted to fix the situation, but because we had to call for a manager, we were there an extra 15 minutes. I can’t think of a reason to go to Tony Romas(which is a chain, btw) unless it’s the only place not packed on the Riverwalk(as it was when we were there!)

As we walked in, the first thing I noticed was the fact that the AC wasn’t on. As I waited for 15 minutes for a server, I became absolutely certain that their AC wasn’t functioning properly. Our server seemed quite unenthusiastic and I feel like I’m being a burden by asking for water as I wait in this dreadful heat. We ended up waiting about 25 minutes after ordering for our appetizers. At this point I feel like this may be one of the circles of hell, as I dug into the re — heated chicken tenders and salty tortilla chips that constituted our app sampler. After another 20 minutes and some prodding to our server, we finally got our meal. I understand that we should expect mediocre food when it comes to tourist chain restaurants like this, but coupled with the slow service, this is just awful. You’d have better luck and food at your local Applebee’s. Don’t put yourself through this.

I came in with a group of 12 people. A few of them had looked at the reviews and didn’t want to come. I am glad we did and so were they. The service was outstanding. Richard was our server and he was on the ball. We got everything we ordered quickly and it was all cooked to our liking. One of our group had an issue with the water, but Richard took care of it right away. One other had a steak that was a lit more rare than he would have liked, but he are ½ of it before he even noticed. There was a big soccer game on that night but here was a problem with the cable and we were not able to watch it. This was not their fault. I would eat here again the next time I am in San Antonio and will stop at another should I see one in another city. Thank you very much Richard. That was a wonderful meal.

If you’re in the San Antonio area, going to a chain is probably not a very good idea. But we did anyway because local restaurants open much later and we were really hungry. Right next to it is Luciano’s Italian place, and a tex mex place. I ordered their grilled chicken and fire roasted vegetables salad. The whole plate was rather cold so «fire roasted vegetables» are likely leftovers from the night before. It can be a good thing though, because the flavors were fully soaked into the vegetables. The chicken was nicely cooked and not dry. The salad is nicely dressed and not overly so. But there was a lack of salt so the flavors were more subdued. There just wasn’t anything terribly memorable.

I wish the Dallas locations didn’t shut down! I have been coming to Tony Roma’s for years & it’s by far one of my favorite restaurants to go to! This past summer my family and I went to San Antonio and we stopped at Tony Roma’s — plus it’s ON the riverwalk so it was beautiful scenery. We decided to sit outside since the weather was cool. I ALWAYSORDERTHERIBS! they are freaking fantastic. My mom got the salmon piccata which was also good. Our server was very attentive and nice, our drinks were always full, and he always made sure we were comfortable outside. All in all, I can say a lot of GOOD things about Tony Roma’s, but I’m sure everyone knows how awesome this establishment is :) I can’t wait to make a trip back down to San Antonio!

My wife has a thing about eating here and to stop the ear noise I decided to have dinner here. Located in River Center Mall among questionable people and tourist walking around we decided to eat inside, for it was chilly outside and drizzling. Seated in a booth we had a view of people walking by and found a used napkin on the seat. The menu is has photos of some menu items and priced quite high perhaps for people attending conventions. We split the house ribs and got macaroni and baked potato for sides. Our server was always in a hurry and forgot to bring us some bread and silverware. It took a while for our order to show up and when it did we were missing the macaroni but got corn on the cob and coleslaw. Our waitress disappeared and decided to eat our ribs. Eventually another server came by and notified we were missing macaroni, and said they will bring us some. We were done with our plates and then our macaroni showed up. The ribs were average, baked potato and macaroni were good. We then paid and off to walk around the River Walk.
