The Leaky Barrel

Soul Grammar was playing when we walked in playing some old school funk and some newer songs. They were GREAT!
We came in early on a Saturday evening during happy hour. Our bartender was very attentive and nice. He really put in a lot of effort into his drinks. He made one of the special martinis. I can’t remember the name but it was lemon and AWESOME!
The prices were great. I’ll definitely be back.
Screens above the bar made it great to sit at the bar and watch the NBA finals.

Detoured here for a quick drink with a coworker after our stop in the Medical area. Happy hour prices were decent and we were enjoying ourselves until the cover band started. They were too loud and a bit obnoxious. We would’ve stayed longer but since it was our first time visiting we had no idea what time the live music started or for that matter ended. Think I’ll visit again but will be more mindful not to do so during the live music time of the evening.

It’s nice to have a friendly staff.
First visit and feel very welcomed.
I will be back!

Monday might

Came here on a weekend night. When we arrived there was live music and I definitely was not a fan. The DJ started around 11 o’clock at night. Luckily the group I was with was a good time. This place was dead for the most part but they do have hookah which is a plus and the pool tables. They also have Darts but one of them wasn’t working. The cucumber shots were amazing. That’s the drink that got me a little too drunk. :-) The hookah wasn’t all that good.

Catchy name brought us in while in the neighborhood for dinner. As soon as we walked in the place wreaked of vomit and dirty mop water. Went in about 7:45 pm one customer sitting at the bar, one other table occupied. Sat and waited at the bar for 5 minutes never to have been greeted. Place looks rough and nasty.
Bartender to busy in her own little world to greet us. But had no problem shouting out a sarcastic «BYE» as we walked toward the door.

Had a blast! Bartenders really nice! Lots of fun people and great music.

This is the best place ever! There are cheap drinks, hookah and hookers at this joint!!! LOVE IT!!! Coming back ALWAYS!

Three things stand out about this place. 1. It’s overpriced. Hookah rental is at least 20 bucks. Domestic beer is 3.50. 2. It’s ghetto as hell. I can’t imagine how many fights happen here. And finally number 3… this had to have the most vile men’s bathroom I’ve seen in the medical center area of san antonio.

This is located in the medical center area. It has a great vibe with friendly staff and great music. They actually know how to mix drinks correctly, which is always a big plus. Come hang out …

Seems okay, as far as dives are concerned, but they didn’t have shiner draft and there was only 2 people in the bar. A bartender and someone chatting with the bartender.

I had a GREAT time at The Leaky Barrel!!! Part of that may just be nostalgic since I remember coming to this venue when it was Antro back during my raver days. But then again, the other part of that may be due to the fact that the vibe of this place (for being a str8 bar) was actually pretty decent! There weren’t any loud, drunk, jock dudes or any obnoxious hoodrats causing drama, just cool people enjoying some dranks and hookah. Not sure if the hookah set-​up was for that one night only, as I have not ventured back out there since.
The music was great — a nice eclectic mix of electronic music and hip-​hop. The drinks were pretty reasonably priced (I only had one, plus a shot) and seemed like they had the potential to get stronger, if you tipped your bartenders well. The large layout of the bar allows for effortless mingling and the dance floor was packed with all kinds of different people dancing the night away. For being in a random strip mall, this place actually surprised me in a good way and I would return if afforded the opportunity.

My first time here was an awesome experience!!! Our bartender Rob went out of his way to make us feel at home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Awesome Place!!! NOT your average bar this has a club like scenery and the DJs music is very diverse, hip hop, Spanish, Country everything, very hard to find a bar like this one, Cheap drinks, not too crowded & most importantly a mature crowd. There’s 2 bars, enough dancing space, a pool table & darts, very nice, totally recommend & definitely will come here again when I come into town! :)
