Definitely try the kombucha, very tasty. Service wasn’t spectacular, but very nice drink selection!

I LOVE The Beverage Bar. They have a huge, constantly changing, menu. If you’re looking for a sweet treat, snack, glass of wine, WIFI, coffee, games, relax on the couch, kind of place, GOHERE.

I love coming here on a nice day. I get an iced green tea and take it to the patio with my book to relax and have a little«me time» on my days off while my daughter is at school. They have wifi, few board games, flatscreen TVs and comfy couches and chairs. Friendly staff that are happy to top off your tea before you leave. Don’t get that at Starbucks!

Just had a turkey ciabatta sandwich and my wife had the french dip. We played some games while we ate. The food was great. If you have a chance you should stop by here and grab something to eat or drink. I know they have karaōke on other nights. We stopped in on a Saturday but there was no music when we were there.

This place is pretty good to study at; it is quite comfortable, and was not too crowded. The lighting was pretty good; the fish tacos were the special for the night, they were actually some of the best fish tacos I have ever had! Also I had some Agua Fresca(watermelon) which was fabulous. I have also had bubble tea there, it was good though I am not a bubble tea connoisseur. A cool thing is there are a lot of games and some toys on the shelves for you to play with, like dominoes, shoots and ladders, I cant’ remember what else. My daughter, who is 2, amused herself for quite a while with those two.

I decided to check this place out after reading all the reviews here and am so glad that I did! I love Starbucks and hang out there for a few hours a few times per week and I think I’ve found an equivalent(if not better) hangout spot. There are plenty of couches & arm chairs and the seating area is very large including quite a few tables, tall ones, long ones for larger groups and even bar seating.(Wine is served, too) There’s a patio outside that’s pet-friendly, free wi-fi, open mic night taking place on Fridays, and three TVs(you can even change the channels!) I signed up for their texting program and if you text the company once a day, you get a coupon to use for that day. You just need to show your text to the people ringing you up. Yesterday I used a special for buy any drink and get the same one free. I previously also received one for Buy one bubble tea and get one free. Oh, and check in on Unilocal on your phone and receive 20% off your purchase. The Beverage Bar also serves food. I have yet to try any besides pastries,(their fudge is so good, by the way) but their hamburgers, pizza and tilapia meal prices are more than reasonable. I’m definitely going to keep frequenting this coffee shop from now on. I’d never even been to the Thousand Oaks/Jones Maltsberger intersecting area, and I can say I’m impressed. It’s always exciting when discovering a new part of town after being in Texas a few years.

Considering the Thousand Oaks/Jones Maltsberger intersection is a fast-food mecca, I’m always excited about finding some new and unique options for convenient food. After Pizza Italia and Jack’s moved down the street, this little strip center needed some new life. Enter Beverage Bar & Café. It’s basically a coffee shop/café that also serves wine and beer. I’ve only ever ordered food to go, but every time I walk in, it definitely has a homey feel with couches, dark wood bistro tables and a nice patio. Add free wifi and board games and it’s not a bad place to hang out for some good, quiet fun. All the food I’ve ordered has been really good, even if it is a little pricey for basically just sandwiches. The food is simple but fresh. I tried the chicken salad sandwich on their recommendation. It was a little hard to eat on a baguette and it was VERY creamy, but there were nice large chunks of chicken and the sauce had a really good flavor. I ate it with a fork and discarded the bread. The other sandwich I had, was the ham and cheese, which was a pleasant surprise. It was served on an herbed focaccia bread which was delicious. I’ve had their bubble tea three times, and each time it’s been an ordeal. It’s all about timing and the food server’s skill level. If you go first thing in the morning, the bubbles won’t be ready. If you go in the evening, you get bottom of the barrel bubbles. Two of the three times, it was clear they didn’t know what they were doing. I basically had to spell out how to make it, but in the end, the chai bubble tea was really good. Not to sweet, not too watery. I’m hoping that as more people keep ordering, they’ll get better and faster at making it. All in all, Beverage Bar is decent and a nice alternative to fast food if you’re looking for something simple, easy and different.

From the moment I walked in I loved the place. I hadn’t even tried anything but the décor and relaxing environment was nice to walk into. I instantly thought I was in a LA spot again. I love how the place is kid friendly!!! Very nice to be able to bring my family too! I went on a Sunday afternoon and we had a variety of food and all was delicious. We had cheese pizza, ham & cheddar sub, smoothies, and an iced coffee.

I can’t say that I’m super excited about this place. I work close, and thought it would be nice to have a coffeeshop/wine bar close by. Unfortunately, Beverage Bar is neither. Coffee isn’t great, lunch dishes are inconsistent. The nice thing is that they serve wine by the glass and give you 20% off through Unilocal. The couches and seating is nice and comfortable. But this isn’t a home run. It’s more of a solid base hit.

This is the second time I have been here and this is the second time they didn’t have what I ordered. Drinks are a little overpriced for their quality. Staff seemed unsure of the menu and had to check the fridge every time I have asked for something. Maybe I should have just ordered a coffee? I would’ve if I wasn’t four months pregnant! I REALLY wish I liked this place more. P. S. I just went to the restroom, and the toilet didn’t flush. sigh. I had to stick my hand in to flush it manually.

I was on a walk with my year and a half old son in the baby backpack this morning, and decided to pop in to Beverage Bar to see what it was like. The atmosphere was modern, yet relaxed, and I really wish I could’ve stayed longer. The two women behind the counter(one might have been the owner) were extremely friendly and kind, a trait that many businesses have forgotten is often the key to enticing customers to return. I didn’t get to try anything other than the regular coffee, but it tasted freshly brewed and had an excellent flavor. It was a great way to start my day. I’m eager to return with my wife and sample more of what they have to offer.

We visited this place after some drinks at evil olive next door. Although I wasnt blown away by the coffee, I’m happy to finally have a coffee hang-out spot on my side of town. When I first walked in I cringed at the sight of kids running around and playing wii and board games. I appreciate the effort to make this a family place but oy vey. I work with kids all day so coming to a place to relax and being greeted by more annoying kids is not my idea of a relaxing evening. Anyway, I decided to start simple. a cup of coffee. my wife got some bubble tea. The coffee was good but it was luke-warm. In all fariness there have been times when I’ve gotten coffee at starbucks in the evening and the coffe was cold there have even been times when they didnt have any decaf brewed in the evening. So I guess maybe I’m the only one in town interested in drinking coffee in the evenings, which might explain why everywhere I go, there’s never any hot coffee waiting. Still, if you’re a coffee place, why wouldn’t you have hot coffee waiting for your customers who aren’t drinking the mochas and latte’s. The buddle tea was decent. the cup was mostly ice which was a little annoying, especially considiring it wasn’t cheap. The real selling point for me in this place is it’s very existence! Finally a place I can have a cup of coffee, chill out, read. I can look past the kids, I just hope parents can learn how to keep the proverbial lease on their kids. alright bye

Someone on Unilocal recommended I go by and try out the bubble tea, which is not awful, but not great either, but this is a nice trendy little place they have here. First the bubble milk tea is okay by San Antonio standards — but I wouldn’t go here for bubble tea unless my car broke down nearby. It’s very typical — the tapioca bubbles have probably stayed out a little too long, but they’re still better than average to chew on. The tea was okay, I couldn’t really tell anything about the flavor, since they overload the milk tea with condensed milk, and it sort of tastes like you’re drinking a liquefied cup of La Lechera. It’s just very very sweet. Not awful, but a bit more lactose than I can probably tolerate on a regular basis. At $ 3.50 for a small cup, you can probably find better, even around San Antonio. The place, however, is really nice. They have advertised wifi, and plenty of places to put your feet up, or your laptop up, and drink your beverage while watching one of the many TVs sorted around the bar. And despite all that, it’s got a quiet feel to it, even if it’s not particularly quiet.

Finally, a coffee bar in my hood! The first thing you’ll think when you enter is «is this a coffee bar or a comfy, warm lounge», because of its modern approach to the décor. Well, they’re a bit of both. They make pretty good mocha’s, lattes and other caffeinated treats. They also have a pretty extended menu of sandwiches, soups and other scrumptious items that will make you drool as you wait in line to order up. Their banana nut loaf is pretty good and worth coming back for. Their soups are mouth watering and will make you think«Damn this is good, why didn’t I ever have this before?» Mac’n cheese, just that… mac’n cheese, your kid(not you) will love it. Also of note, is their different drinks ranging from traditional caffeinated beverages to something more exciting like bubble tea. The ambiance here is really warm, comfortable and relaxing. Half the seating inside is either sofas or accent chairs, while the other half are chairs and tables. Very comfortable and relaxing, especially if you’re just planning to order up a cup of Joe and watch some TV, which by the way, they have four 42 inch LCD TVs to enjoy while you sip away on your beverage of choice. Good part about it is that it’s not a sports bar environment where everyone is always cheering, on the contrary, it kind of flows with the mood of the clients of the time, which typically tends to be either working professionals, students or people just geeking out with a mocha and leaching off the free wifi… like myself… anyway, it’s usually inviting here. For all you parents who want to enjoy a nice caffeinated beverage, but worried about taking the kids to a coffee bar because they will lose interest, fear not, this place also has a wii just for them. They also have a few stocked games, but feel free to bring your own if you own a wii, somehow, I don’t think the owners will have a problem with you bringing in wii games. One think I particularly like is that if you place an order, feel free to take a seat, the people behind the counter will bring it to you. You don’t have to wait around for your name to be yelled out to get your order. Whatever it is, they will bring it to you, which I think is great, because this means I can sit my lazy butt down and don’t have to get back up after I make myself at home on the sofa, with the remote watching a good episode of Family Guy or something, almost like being at home… but better… they bring the food to you! Aside from the coffee drinks, the teas, the snacks, the sandwiches, the soups, the salads, the friendly service and the sweets, they also have a wine area as well. How cool is that? Almost like a one stop shop. Their wine area is off in a nook, surrounded by brick and gives it a nice feel. So, for making better caffinated drinks than the chain brand, offering up a decent menu for when I’m hungry that actually tastes good and doesn’t cost an arm and won’t make me mortgage off my kidney, most variety of drinks than most other places I’ve been to and has a great look and feel about, this places gets 5 stars! Certainly worth considering if your on the prowl for some caffeine and relaxing environment.

Decent bubble tea but it’s no Carmens bubble tea. The atmosphere is very loungey and jazzy… free WiFi, friendly staff although not very knowledgeable about their own products. The bubble tea doesn’t use any fruit unless you ask, and the only option is banana… otherwise its time to breakout the powder and choose your flavor. I would recommend they ask their customers if they would like their drinks blended or iced. Would def recommend this place if you are in the neighborhood, but don’t forget to stop by Pizza Italia for a slice of awesome cheese pizza(pie) and one of their many Yummy beers!

I was excited to check this place out because our neighborhood needs more local coffee houses with reliable wifi. It’s a beautiful place, very sleek and modern-looking without appearing to be pretentious. There are lots of tables and plugs(for us laptop lovers) and many comfortable couches and chairs. The wifi is not protected but worked well while I used it. They’re still working out the kinks(only been open a wee and a half). With only one person in line ahead of me and five people working behind the counter, it took 15 minutes to get my latte(which was OK but not fabulous — and I am a latte connoisseur). The staff were all friendly but it took them a long time to use the register and to make the drinks. Hopefully they’ll get faster with everything once they’ve had a few more days(weeks?) under their belt. I also tried the banana nut bread. It was dry, didn’t taste like bananas and I didn’t taste any nuts. Won’t be ordering that one again. I’ll be back because I need a comfortable place to work away from home, to meet clients, and to bring my kids after school occasionally for a snack. I just hope some improvements are made so I can enjoy it even more the next time I’m here.

I was passing by this new restaurant the other day and I thought why not check it out. It is truly a unique concept where they serve Coffee, Juice, and Wine with food pairings. I tried the chicken flat bread, meatball sandwich and coffee-flavored bubble tea. I was floored by the taste of every single one of them! The flavors are out of this world and the ambiance is so inviting and homey. Definitely an A++. I just hope they keep their food this good after they start getting busy.

I have been waiting for The Beverage to open; finally a coffee spot for me thats less then 5 miles. My first impression of the Beverage Bar was WoW this is a nice and expensive looking place. A very relaxing area with nice dark wood tables and chairs, and cozy looking sofas. There also a small play area with a Wii for the kids. The menu is big just about every kinda of drink you can think of Coffee, lattes, hot chocolate, hot tea, Italian Soda, fresh juice, aqua frescas, and wine. They also serve salads, sandwiches, and wraps. I ordered a coffee $ 2.25, but there was no fresh coffee brewed. Bummer I didn’t want to wait so I told them to give me a latte. The latte tasted alright, nothing special maybe it had too much milk.(I don’t know I’m not a latte expert) However I was impressed with the place itself so. When I came back today I ordered the large lemon aqua fresca for $ 2.50. It tasted alright my boys loved it. The Wii and bean bag throw game kept them busy as I wrote this review on The Beverage Bar’s WiFi which worked good. One other I would like add the staff was very nice and helpful with helping with keeping my boys busy. Overall I thought The Beverage Bar was a 3 Stars A-Ok place. I know that this will get better after working out some first week kinks. I plan to return often to The Beverage Bar. It will be my new chill spot for studying for this semester’s finals.
