Want to let your readers know about two places called five star cleaners.(Jones Maltsberger location and Thousand Oaks location). at the Jones Maltsberger location on Thursday of last week when I went to drop off my Clothes the lady at the drive through window informed me the dryers were out of service and my clothes wouldn’t be ready until Wednesday. Upon calling the owner Sharlene Thum I was informed they have a maintenance technician 24-hours on call. So their dryers are all working properly. Well this only concludes that her employees are being lazy and NOT wanting to work or maybe even Sabotaging her business. This has happened before at this location. She really didn’t seem to be bothered, even knowing I spend from 60 – 150 on dry cleaning each week. I’m sure she has many customers and makes great money but she lost this one for sure. Guess a company that has 17 stores and makes money don’t care UNTIL word gets out and people go else where. I’m going back to Oak Park Cleaners. Oh and as for the store on Thousand Oaks. All store hours are from 7am-7pm. I called this store at 6:56pm and NOANSWER. Upon arriving at 7:00pm the Manager was locking door and I asked are you closed she informed me yes I showed her my call and time that no one answered and she informed me it was slow so she was ready to leave at 7pm. This shows remarkable customer service. The owner Sharlene Thum informed me it was a safety issue since the manager was working alone, and she would NOT discuss nothing further about that. The website has no means for complaints. These two locations are what I want your readers to know as well as the conversation I had with the owner Sharlene Thum at 7:11 am today. I’m reposting in Unilocal, Nextdoor and a few other places.

I droppex off jacket and after charging me almost $ 60 they didn’t even remove any stain. Everytime I found stains in jackets they said ‘the stain was there already’ the whole time. Isn’t that reason why you get dry cleaning and charge for service!!! Idk I would never go here again

Why is it standard in the industry to omit receipts? It seems to me that the company could prevent employee graft and keep happier customers if there was a sign that says«We’ll give you $ XX. xx if we fail to provide a receipt.» Why isn’t there a price list posted on a big legible board in the shop? Even if you ask for a receipt, you get just a total, and and not a breakdown. If you ask for a detailed receipt, you get five or six. Also, why can’t I get the best deal as a regular customer without having to track down a grocery store receipt coupon, or an internet coupon?

place is decent. They did lose an article of my dry cleaning which bothered me. I go there for location but my shirts are fraying maybe due to heavy starch.

These folks are great at taking care of my professional business attire including pants and shirts. I took the advice of a friend and gave them a try after Pilgrim left me dissatisfied. They even had a clerk that would stand in the back of the shop and smoke! The staff at Five Star are always pleasant even though they work in an un-air conditioned store. And it’s not just a store front; they do the cleaning and pressing there.
