Wow what a customer service! Friendly, polite, helpful! So glad i took my husband there. Shaving was done so well, my husband cant stop talking about.
Guys ! I recommend!

They sell superior products with an excellent knowledge of what to recommend. Each staff member is educated on their product and can make recommendations based on how your intended use.
This location offers shaves, but no hair cuts.

Sandra did an amazing job on my husband’s shave. She is meticulous, takes her time and does a great job. My husband liked the experience as well.
The people working their are nice and have good customer service skills.
The only downside is that it doesn’t seem to work with my husband. He is black and has could hair and he had so many ingrown sand razor bumps after getting shaved by Sandra. This just doesn’t work for his hair type.

Sandra is the best. I se her once or twice a month for a shave and trim and always leave very relaxed! She is very professional and thorough.
In addition, the rest of the staff is extremely helpful and they offer excellent products. Treat yourself while you can. Life is short!

I love this place! I tried to visit a location whenever I’m in a city that has one, but haven’t had the opportunity to get a shave from one of their master barbers, but I’ll definitely get one soon. I’ve been to both locations in the San Antonio area and I prefer their La Contera location, their team seems more attentive then their North Star staff.

Well I decided to see what all the hype was about. I have been shaving my head for the last 10 years (face too, of course) and went here today for both, and now I can say that yes I can do a lot better job at home with a Mach 5 razor. I am actually going to redo the shave myself because it just was not a good quality shave. Yes my head and face were shaved but my head is definitely not as smooth as it is when I do it myself. There are also still parts on my head that I feel are still a little fuzzy. My neck is a little bit redder than normal and they also forgot or don’t do the bottom side parts of the neck. That is something else I’ll have to do myself. So yes it was an experience but not worth a second try. A Mach 5 razor shave done yourself will be much smoother and better.

Sandra shaves my eyebrows between waxes. She does such an excellent job!!! Often just having my eyebrows waxed does not do the trick because waxing does not play with my natural eyebrow arch. Sandra does my eyebrows to perfection and takes her time. The products she uses does not irritate the skin of my brow and can be use on women and maybe even pets, lol. Just this small eyebrow detail make this Tomboy want to put on eye shadow, a thong and a part of Louboutin (correction a part of DSW heels). LOL. Plus, Sandra is so cool and professional, five stars!!! If I had a significant other, I would walk in as one of the Housewives of Atlanta and watch him get «barbered» up.

I visited the Art of Shaving for the very first time this weekend and I now understand all the hype regarding a professional, straight-​razor shave. I called ahead of time to make an appointment for a traditional beard trim with shave. My master barber, Sandra, did an outstanding job in the roughly half hour that she took care of me. After my beard trim, shave, and nose hair trim, she even styled my hair. I have never had such a wonderful, relaxing experience. This grooming treat must be the man’s equivalent of a woman’s spa manicure, pedicure, and facial.
The only downside to this self-​indulgence is the cost. Though the traditional beard trim with shave did include many services for $ 35, I cannot afford to go here too regularly. Therefore, perhaps it is more economical to buy their products and learn to shave at home. However, even their products are pricey. Nonetheless, since I felt so great after the close shave, I am considering trying out their products, which are said to last much longer and produce much better results than compared to items purchased in a grocery store.

PRODUCTS: My daughters bought me a shaving kit for Christmas. I HATE shaving. Using this company’s products makes shaving MUCH more enjoyable. Until recently, I had never used a shaving brush or pre-​shaving oil. The shaving cream is ultra concentrated. VERY high quality products. What a difference. The products are definitely a 5-​star ranking.
STORE: Having no means of comparison, I’m giving this location a 4-​star rating. Upon entering, we got a couple of quick greetings but without that creepy kind of «I’m going to follow you around» feeling that many smaller shops insist on. Staff were quite friendly and knowledgeable about their products. They helped me find just what I «needed» (ie, what this greedy little man wants).
BONUS: They offer a 10% military discount.
OVERALL: EXCELLENT. RECOMMENDED.

I was in town on vacation and decided to get a traditional shave. Based on other positive reviews for Art of Shaving I decided to book an appointment. Sandra? Was wonderful. Such a relaxing experience and an amazingly close shave. She took the time to completely groom from the neck up. Eyebrows, in and around the ears, nose and neckline. The product line is fabulous and nicely scented without being overwhelming. I enjoyed this so much I will be visiting the Jacksonville FL location on my next vacation.

Personally I don’t have a need to join the brotherhood of shaving but I did take my little guys dad in as a birthday present. Where else can you get a clean shave and pamper treatment with a straight razor, warm towel and light face massage? The girl even cleaned up his eyebrows which let’s be honest boys, some of you need some love in that area. He enjoyed it, I paid for it, Sadly no military discount but it was educational looking thru their products and lines of creams. I didn’t realize how metro guys could get, but hands down girls have way more beauty product available.
The razors are expensive but it’s quality not quantity, so when you think about buying another cheapo razor at HEB think about why you spent over $ 100 on the razor for this place and see how well the shave it/​long the blade lasts. The guy that was working the front desk was awesomely sweet and the woman did a great job. The only downside that I found out is that she only does these barber shaves friday-​sunday nothing else during the week like I had originally assumed. All in all, best $ 35 spent and don’t forget to tip the barber, she’s the one holding the blade to your throat. :)

I was introduced to this wonderful store by my sister and fell in love immediately. I have purchased many of their products but I am especially fond of their items that are sandalwood scented. It smells nice but very masculine. If you have a chance, schedule a shave.

My review is based completely on their kits (I’m planning on taking the hubby here when he has the time). I’ve seen the kits sold at Club Humidor and they are amazing; however, I bought a set online and there was definitely a high level of satisfcation after usage! He usually gets ingrown hair and razor bumps. Plus the fact that his skin is ultra sensitive makes it even more difficult for him to just shave and go. He definitely has a routine down for this. The Art of Shaving kits with the pre-​shave oil, brushes and the cream are really great. I can’t wait to bring him to get the ‘real deal’ done.

I’ve always loved Art of Shaving. I bought my husband a starter kit a few years ago that he just adores. When we walked by the store this weekend, we saw that they had a barber shop setup inside and went to check it out. When we found out that we could get an old fashioned shave and a haircut (two bits!) with a straight razor, we were more than thrilled and signed up immediately. We came back about five minutes before our appointment and got to see the barber finish up on the previous customer. He looked relaxed and his face looked smooth.
When my husband’s turn came up, he sat in the chair and she got started on him. She started with a head rub with some oils, then wrapped his head in a hot towel. After about 30 minutes, his head was softer than imaginable and so smooth. She finished with a nice oil that didn’t leave his head oily (ew) or shiny (gross).
Then she moved on to his beard. She did a great job of getting all the hard to reach places (i.e. corner of the mouth, underneath the nostrils, etc.) and did such a good job with his neckline that he didn’t have his usual razor burn. She even took care of his (mini)uni-brow for me. Wonderful.
If you buy a certain amount from the store, they’ll give you a free shave, so that is even more incentive to check out this store. We ended up with a few more goodies for ourselves (and a few Christmas presents). I was thrilled to see that they have expanded to include some tools for women! They have a wonderful badger hair brush for women with a heavenly rose scented cream. There are plans to open a store in Houston in a two years, so we’re counting down, but until then I think we’ll just have to make up excuses to come back and visit this store.
