Good old-fashioned Tex-Mex breakfast in San Antonio Not in the best area but the food is pretty darned good. The salsa is nice and hot(both in spiciness and temperature). Barbacoa and Huevos Rancheros were both delicious. Tortillas are home made and the prices are really reasonable. Definitely coming back here when we visit San Antonio again.

Ordered the menudo special which is a small menudo and a barbacoa taco after waitress walked by me and around me four times. I finally asked her if she was going to wait on me. She had an annoying cough. «We are out of barbacoa» she said abruptly. Well, ok, give me a carne guisada. «We don’t do substitutions». «You can have the large menudo for the same price». I stated with the small menudo and ordered a side of avocado. The menudo was good. The corn tortillas delicious. Waitress comes back after I almost finished and says, «she said you can have a bean and cheese taco or a chorizo con huevo with your menudo». «you can take it to go». … Huh? Ok, I’ll take the chorizo con huevo. geech, what a maroon.

All 4 of us had stomach aches after eating here. Thought I would help future Unilocalers out by bringing the 5 starts down with my real review. Pretty darn gross food if you ask any of us. Pretty sure the food was microwaved the way the cheese melted to the plate

Is in love with their huevos rancheros for breakfast. My only complaint is that they could put a little more beans and potatoes on the plate. Other than that the tortillas are excellent! The waitresses are always nice, but the catch is you have to be there early or not they get really busy. I have yet to try out their baked desserts. I come here as often as I can usually on my day off.

Alright so, just another taco place right? Wrong. Me and my family have come here for years and we practically have lunch the with the owners when were here. This place is great and the flour tortillas are awesome and homemade. This place loses points for non-homemade corn tortillas and minor points for saying that Chicago’s Mexican food is mediocre. Apples to oranges if you ask me. Their caldo’s are excellent, rice is flavorful, smae goes for the beans. If you want tacos get tacos or try the Caldo de pollo it’s always fresh. This place is busy but luckily there is plenty of room to sit down. Enjoy
