We go here all the time on the weekends and enjoy breakfast. Great food and it’s always hopping. Two gripes-1)depending on your waitress you may never get a coffee refill. Some are better than others in making sure their customers get their cups refilled but they don’t go to other waitress’ tables to offer 2) also there is always a long line to pay due to the rapid turnover of the tables and the to go orders are handled by 1 gentleman manning 1 register. Just having 1 more person would alleviate a lot of the waiting around.

Enormous portions but it was all so greasy. Flour tortillas were different and I could not eat them. You get what you pay for, that being said the prices are low.

Very good carne asada tacos. The portion they give you is plenty. I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant. When I’m back in San Antonio, I will be back to visit this place.

I visited this place about one year ago, and I must write about my experience. So I am sitting there having lunch at and not our 2PM, when one of the waitresses went around at all the empty tables and started collecting the left over chips that the customers left behind — she placed the chips back and recycled them for the new customers — disgusting! I was horrified!!!

Love this place, great little restaurant, with great service. Their breakfast tacos are delicious, and they make their flower and corn tortillas right there fresh just for you! The tortas are very good too and the carne asada quesadillas. My husband likes their chicken gorditas, the pier a burrito and the beef guisado. The price is excellent and the quality is great, give it a try u will enjoy it!

Do you like big tacos? Do you order a lb of barbacoa and 2 tortillas? This could be your ticket! Delicious, well stuffed tacos are found here. I tried the pierna, al pastor and picadillo. I could not make it through the third taco. The pierna was awesome. The picadillo was great. The Al Pastor was actually not that great, IMO. .but still pretty good and totally huge. Our to go order came with 2 different salsas. .a delicious green one and a red one that was quite hot. It also came with some really nice, fresh looking lime slices which I always appreciate. Fed my family of four for $ 16 with a whole taco left untouched. Greasy and fattening. .sure. .of course. .but if you’re in the mood for some solid tex mex at a crazy good price, you’ll do alright here.

Tried the chilaquiles taco and the potato egg and cheese taco. Overall scores a 3⁄5 in my book. Tortilla 4⁄5 — Definitely fresh made, Tortilla was nice and thick and fluffy. But not the best I’ve had, which is at ruthies on Babcock. Filling 3⁄5 — nothing special here. Props for using good quality cheese, but the chilaquiles was not saucy enough nor did it have a good enough crunch from the chips in it. Also both tacos were tasteless until I added salt. Salsa 3⁄5 — red was decent. Nice and spicy but could use some more flavor. It’s a little watery. Green was pretty flavorless and didn’t really add much to the taco. Overall not bad, but I continue my search for the best breakfast taco in San Antonio.

No stars here! This place is very deceiving. It appears if you go at breakfast or lunch time to be clean. If you go for dinner Oh My God you are in for a rude awaking! The transformation takes place, it is so filthy it caused me to walk out & I stopped going completely. Many tables are left unattended after customers leave. I observed too many times! It made me sick for Mexican Food & certainly have NO desire to return there. WARNING to all!

Ordered the Jalisco burrito. Rice was a little awkward. Funny taste Burrito tortilla was under. And meat was well cooked. Needed more sauce. On the positive not, horchata was good.

Best Mexican Food in years! I was in town for business and made the 3 mile trip from my hotel room after reading reviews on Unilocal. If you want a quick, inexpensive, and awesome tex-mex meal this is the spot. It’s not in the best part of town but definitely worth the trip. Had the shrimp and beef fajita plate ended up being $ 11.10 after taxes. I wish they would move to Jacksonville, FL I would be happy and with food like that they would put every other Mexican restaurant in Jacksonville to shame.

I went here with an organization I’m in at UTSA and this place was perfect for a bunch of broke college students. The serving portions are huge and it’s really cheap! I just love the puffy chicken tacos, yummy yummy in my tummy. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and so juicy it melted in my mouth. I’ve been numerous times and haven’t tried anything I didn’t like. I dragged my roommates and my family here and everyone loved it. For breakfast I recommend trying their barbacoa.

Eh, just ok. The tacos don’t come with any toppings(cilantro, onions, nothing), the rice and beans weren’t very good and over all we just weren’t really impressed.

I love love love this place! Once again excellent service and quick too. I don’t have much time in the mornings as I leave home at 645 and have to drop kiddos off at 730 and l am always able to get our breakfast and still be on time. The huevos ran C is the best and cheap too! The menudo is delish and great on a cold morning like today. AND they have BIGRED!!! That’s a plus for me. If ur in a hurry on the weekends I’d avoid it at breakfast because even tho its a huge place they get super busy.

We had seen this place many times when walking into Sarovar or the Salaam Market, and always thought we should go in. We finally I made it there a few days ago for lunch and again today, to give it a two shot. First impressions: place packed, has the smells of fatty meat cooking on a flatop, with a whiff of oregano and chilis, so why the hell would this not be good! Tried the enchiladas which were pretty alright, except for being too cheesy for me. But the tortillas were dipped just for the right amount in the sauce to make them soft, yet leave them with a bite. Lengua taco was fabulous! Well made lengua is tender anyway, and this one was just perfectly cooked with a touch of chipotle that added just a gentle smokey and warming touch to the taco. Posole needed a touch of salt, which was quickly remedied and transformed that humble bowl of hominy into a pretty tasty chile laden broth, tender hominy and a lot of tender cubes of pork which had rendered their goodness into the broth. In my utter greed ordered a taco al pastor and a carne. The tacos were f’in huge! The corn tortillas obviously homemade, were perfectly soft, tender with a touch of the blackened spots on them to given them interest and formed the perfect envelope for the succulent pork in the case of the pastor. The pork itself was quite tasty and one could detect the garlic, oregano and achiote. Slightly disappointing was the lack of any pineapple, but it made for good eats. The carne taco in shart contrast was a bunch of chewy gristly meat, which thankfully was chopped into small pieces, so I discarded the tortilla, dropped the meat into the remaining broth of the posole and let it soak before putting them away. The soak had not helped too much, but the broth did help with the mastication of the aforesaid meat. Overall a pretty okay experience overall. Was it the best ever, not by a long shot. But will I go there again? Heck yeah!

I’m bias because I’ve been coming here for YEARS– since before they expanded and only had 12 tables. The owner still runs the cash register all day like he did the first day I came to pick up lunch to go back in 2003! The breakfast is not the best– it’s hit or miss. The pancakes are actually really good, but it some reason the eggs, or anything with eggs always disappoint. The menudo is AWESOME but I always order it sin pata(without foot) because it takes up the whole bowl. The corn tortillas are homemade and there are not a lot of places who do this and do this well… If you or your family are from Jalisco then you eat corn, not flour tortillas like most Texans(love them, but they are not something I grew up with). The limonada(lemonade) is soooo good! I always order a large to go :). It’s not the best Mexican food ever, but it tastes like home!

Who says you have to go across town to get good, cheap, mexican food?! Here is a great, local, mexican food joint in the north/medical center part of town. Fresh home made deliciousness, fluffy tortillas, reasonable prices, HUGE portions, fast service, and consistently good. We eat here for breakfast and lunch all the time. I have family(who don’t live that close) happy to make the drive for a meal here. We have introduced friends to this restaurant who now get«taco cravings» for Taqueria El Rodeo. Yes, it’s that good. I’ve tried many things-everything is scrumptious. One of my favorites is the quesadilla asada plate-you can eat on it for days. The bean and cheese tacos are superb. As are the enchiladas, huevos rancheros, tortas, caldo, salsa, and more… Worth the visit.

The Al pastor tacos are huge and generously filled. The fideo is good and the portion sizes on everything are extremely large. A lot of bang for your buck.

Mmhmmm! We have been eating at the neighboring Chinese buffet for years and we kept saying«we gotta try that Mexican joint someday.» Well, we finally stopped in a couple of weeks ago and we all agreed that we were sorry we hadn’t done so sooner. Service is great, place is very roomy, and the food is solid. Servings are very big and not too expensive either. So far, I have only tried the beef enchilada plate and I have not been disappointed. Three decent sized enchiladas with rice, beans, and flour tortillas. Next time we stop by I’m gonna try one of their tortas. They look delish! Picky Dan(a co-worker) didn’t like it.
