Always my first choice when family comes to town that way everybody’s satisfied. The menu selection is good and we’re always treated well.

Usually a hit but service here has become slow and uncertain. The most recent example was lunch on Father’s Day 2016 which was to be a good time at a decent restaurant for 5 of us. Instead, this experience ended with the manager comping our check. Here’s where they failed: 1. We almost had to beg for drink refills. 2. Food – nothing complicated or time consuming to fix – took over 1 and ¼ hours and the intervention of a manager. 3. Appetizer(soup) never made it to the table. 4. One entre(pancakes) was served AFTER the rest of us had eaten. Really? Are pancakes that complicated? 5. Some food(designed to be hot) was ice cold. Part of the problem appeared to be a new, very ambitious brunch menu combined with a Father’s Day crowd and an apparent rookie server. At least, our family time together was a plus. Must find a new place for these special occasions.

This is one of my favorite places to go when visiting my folks in San Antonio so for Mother’s Day my husband and I decided to take mom and dad to an early dinner. I made reservations for 2:30 and arrived at 2:16 and to my joy we were seated immediately. There has never been a wait the many times we have been. Our waitress(forgive me for not knowing her name it was a long name that started with a «T») was very gracious and friendly. The service has always been amazing. Everything about the experience was going well until I noticed our waitress seemed frustrated with the kitchen and our order seemed to be taking longer than normal. The«manager» approached our table and said our food would be out soon. My father is not patient and we struggled to keep him happy. The service was really good and even with the slow order and the issues with the kitchen we had a great time. To the manager or owner… The fish taco was too fishy and a little dry. That’s the only«bad» thing.

Saturday lunch… not so great… first off our waiter had a candy in his mouth so we couldn’t understand him. and he looked like he hadnt showered in a week. No problem… so we ordered a starter 2 of the appetizer plates had food crusted on them… No biggie that can happen to anyone… the food was good but nothing spectacular… when we got the bill they had charged us for kids drinks even though they say they are included 3 bucks for chocolate milk and another dollar for a kids sprite. We pointed it out and he basically said that we were overcharged but didn’t offer to take it off… so for a 70 dollar lunch(no alcohol) I’m not sure I feel it was worth it. Probably won’t go back … at least not to this location.

Last night we had a quick dinner and drinks at Stonewerks. Our server was Bobby. He was awesome! He got my wife the best drinks, gave us incredible service, was approachable, funny, and we felt like we had been friends for years. This kind of service is unusual at any restaurant and Stonewerks is lucky to have Bobby on their team.

This place is great for a late night cocktail after 9pm or for enjoying a good meal during the day. It is safe, friendly and beautiful inside. Outside seating available too.

Yum Yum Yum. Awesome place to eat after a hard-working day with some coworkers. Everything we ordered tasted so good. There was nothing that I did not like. The atmosphere was dark dim lighting. It’s a great touch to this restaurant. There was also live music outside and sports games going on inside.

It was alright – honestly, probably won’t make it a point to deliberately come back here, but it’s a nice space to be able to hang out & spend some time at.

Met my sister and my nephew plus two of his friends for a casual dinner. We had drinks before ordering. My sister and I split a dozen raw oysters and a lamb burger. The oysters were good and fresh! The lamb burger kinda of salty. Cooked medium well like we asked. We also told them we were going to split and expected for it to be cut. It wasn’t. They also brought my nephew his burger and one of his friends burger before anyone else got their order. The waiter finally came around and noticed the discrepancy. He immediately brought us the rest of the food. The chicken fried steak looked amazing! Big, topped with gravy! Overall, not bad, I guess they were just busy and we were upstairs. Lots of tv screens!!!

My brother and friends gather at 8pm at Stonewerks to watch the debate as we have done the past 3 times. We were sitting on the terrace, as we always do when we watch the debate, and the Spurs game was being televised on every monitor. We asked the waiter if he could change one of the televisions to the GOP debate. At that point, our experience went horribly. The general manager, Cory, subsequently came over to our table, and in a degrading manner, proceeded to tell us(in a high pitch tone) that they would not televise any program relating to religion or politics, which is the policy of the restaurant. I, as well as my brother, are practicing physicians in San Antonio, and our friends are attorneys and the owner of The Grill restaurant. We immediately left appalled from the treatment we received from the general manager. Interestingly enough, after the previously televised debates we viewed at Stonewerks, we tipped the waiter very generously. –Dr. R. Mora

Go to for Happy Hour! and if the weather is nice, and come on this IS San Antonio, the evenings are fantastic 350 days a year, sit out on the patio and enjoy live music. Let me start by recommending you request Jami as your server, she is THEBEST! Have the oysters, oh heck HAVEEVERYTHING and finish with the 24 Carrot Gold Cake!!! There are multiple locations for SW but I prefer Lincoln Heights for the service, and like I said JAMI is the best server in San Antonio!

100% mediocre food. Menu without direction. Slow service. So, yeah, it’s not the worst meal ever. But I wasn’t expecting much. I would have been pretty happy if my food took a bit less time and didn’t come out ICECOLD. But… convenient location, not the worst food ever — not a horrible place. Just not really very good either. On a level with Chili’s, TGIFridays, etc.

I’ve visited this particular location a few times. It has always been good food– nothing over the top, but it’s good. The most recent time that I went I was searching for a place to watch a particular football game. They found a TV with that game on and seated me right in front of it. Would’ve been nice if they would have been willing to change the channel of one of the TVs at the bar since they weren’t crowded at all, but they refused to change any of their TVs. I’m a fan of their cheeseburgers and then the flatbread with steak/balsamic. Bloody Mary was okay… a little bit of a different taste than I would have expected, so it’s just okay. I’ll definitely go back and try something else on their menu– it’s HUGE!

Where do I start?! Had my birthday dinner here because of the great reviews. The service was TERRIBLE! Our waiter seemed hopped up on coccaine. 20 minutes after we ordered he comes back to tell us that the 86’d the chicken. So now my guest had to wait even longer for her dish. Usually the salad comes before the meal. The waiter brought everything at one time to an already cramped table. My friend still waiting on her food. Asked waiter to please take salads back because there was no room. Didn’t even ask to replace with a smaller side dish. I also ordered an appetizer that never showed up. Spoke with manager and he offered us free dessert for having such a terrible experience. I had a cake on the table. really?! Then offered 25% off our tab. Tab was still 200.00 plus tip. NEVERAGAIN

I cannot easily describe how happy I was with my meal last night, but I’ll give it a shot. We went on a Thursday evening at 8:45. I had the best prime rib of my life here. I had asked for rare and didn’t expect the perfection placed in front of me. It was simply beautiful. Perfect crust on the steak with a glorious broth and light gravy on top. The garlic whipped potatoes were good, but not very garlicky. Asparagus was perfectly cooked: neither limp nor tough, and was well seasoned. Boyfriend got the grown up grilled cheese, which was very plain, but had a good sturdy bread. It was perfect when are aux jus with the steak. I would ask for tomatoes or bacon and to be added to up the ante for it. We also both ordered desert which I do not really commend. The deserts serve two people easily. The Frappuccino cake was a good ice cream cake, but I’m not a huge fan of those generally. I got the 14 karat cake which was divine. It was served warm with caramel drizzle and vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was only slightly above average, but the cake itself was full of nuts and cinnamon and just so good. Our waiter, Rudy, was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu and had great recommendations and suggestions to help me through my first time eating oysters. He was very friendly and frequently stopped by to make sure things were going well, but he didn’t hover. He also provided information about upcoming specials and the live music on Fridays and Saturdays, which I’m sure to be back for. It was a bit chilly, but it’s also 50 degrees outside so it may have been from people opening the door. It wasn’t too bad though. We got out of there for about $ 100 which was 3 tall beers, a dozen oysters, steak, sandwich, two huge desserts and two coffees. It was well worth the cost.

I went to Stone Werks for lunch this week and couldn’t have been more impressed. They took reservations(that’s so convenient), the décor/atmosphere was cool and the service was excellent. I got a tortilla soup and ceasar salad which is pretty hard to mess up so I can’t really attest to the food but what I got was good. I mentioned to my work colleague that I had celebrated my 3rd wedding anniversary that week and maybe I’m way too loud(going to check myself) but the manager overheard and brought over an ice cream sundae to tell me congrats. Random act of kindness and good service? That will make me a repeat customer every time.

Bar, food, atmosphere. Three key ingredients in running a successful restaurant. After several visits, I’ve been seated in almost every section of this establishment. I’ve tried burgers, ceviche, fish tacos, salads and the pizza. Pretty much everything has been delicious and well worth the $ 15! It’s definitely a top spot to have a private party upstairs, take a date or enjoy any game day! Come here often!

On a weekend that I found myself in two separate Stone Werks Big Rock Grille establishments I decided I would give a combined rating of 4 for the location on E. Basse Road and for the location near the La Cantera Mall. At the Basse Road location I decided to sip on a fruity Hurricane~Like Fruity Drink(picture included) while dining on some spinach and artichoke dip and chips. My date and I both selected the tilapia and tortilla fish tacos and requested that they have a slight char to them. I declined avocados and would have finished my meal if I had not also decided to dine at the Magnolia Pancake Haus that morning(review to follow). All in all great waiter who was super friendly and we had fast service. It was a tasty treat before I headed to see an awful movie which we will call It Follows. D– and not scary At the Stone Werks location near the La Cantera Mall I couldn’t believe I found myself back at this dining establishment the next day. My friend ordered the salmon with sautéed veggies which was very delicious and I ordered the fried jumbo shrimp, shoe string fries and swapped out the cole slaw for broccoli. My meal was fabulous and the shrimp was fresh, succulent and definitely not frozen and I will return in the future.

I came here for a celebratory dinner one of my friends was having and I had such a great time. This location is the only one from the Stone Werks family that has a second floor which is perfect for hosting private dinners. Upon arrival inside the lobby there is large wine cellar that welcomes you. A soothing comfort for my friends who are big«wine-os». Stone Werks has this environment about them that is very friendly and inviting. This was my first time eating at this location and I was lucky enough to eat on the second floor for a private dinner. We were assigned an amazing waitress Jami who was super attentive and very friendly. Once we were seated we were all handed a drink menu which is pretty comprehensive. The wine list was extensive and the cocktail/beer list was heaven for me. Many know how expensive drinks can get at decent places, but Stone Werks has a very reasonably priced menu. The food was very delicious. I had ordered the peach glazed pork chops based on a recommendation from my friend and it was finger-licking good. The peach glaze was done perfectly and enhanced the pork chop not overpower it. The portions and size was plenty and great. On average most dinner plates at the Stone Werks average about $ 15-$ 20. Now the biggest sucker moment for me was the Mac-n-Cheese. If you serve great Mac-n-Cheese you are going to create a fan out of me. It was so cheesy and rich that I was not willing to share with anyone. My experience was great and I hope to come back fairly soon.

Stone Werks is AMAAAAZING! From the vibe and atmosphere to the service, my experience was quite enjoyable. I came in alone(of my own accord) and the waiter did his best to entertain me, as I think he felt sorry for me. My waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, helpful in choosing an entrée, and always quick to refill my glass. I’ll definitely be returning here for my future selfie-dates:D
