Not too happy with this Starbucks. I am usually a big fan but this location turned me off! After ordering my drink I went outside when I was politely approached by a man looking for coffee money. I had no money at all so I offered him a coffee I could buy with my Starbucks app… Suggesting he come into the store with me so I could get it for him. When I went into order the barista(who appeared to act like a manager) told me my new friend would have to leave the store which I objected to… Where does she get off judging people? She told me she had to «look after the safety of her staff»… Give me a break! This guy was harmless… And on top of that he was with me! I explained that to her and suggested that if she pored the coffee instead of giving me her attitude we would both be gone in a flash but she had to push her point and kept demanding he would leave. I hope someone in Seattle reads this because this person shouldn’t be a manager and probably didn’t deserve to be an employee. Geez… The people yah meet when don’t have a gun! What a B. ch! Tomorrow I’ll find another coffee brand.

My favorite Starbucks because being downtown on Houston street it affords awesome people watching. Nice place to see nice booty and interesting people pass by. Sitting outside on an autumn night 64 degrees with the sights and sounds of a bustling Friday evening before a Broadway show is divine, sipping a freshly brewed coffee.

Yet another example of why I am slowly coming to hate Starbucks. I ordered a drink and they forgot me. Or actually, my cup went out of line and was forgotten. After the fifth person behind me was served. I asked if I was in the queue. The over stressed barista just gave me that«you’re the(your favorite profanity here) I have to serve now» look. Made the drink, slid it onto the counter and went on. Never a word to me when I asked or thanked him. Starbucks used to be noted for being great service and personable. I think this spot is showing the continued cracks in their early culture.

This is a small but very busy Starbucks. During the morning rush the service can be hit or miss. Because of the sometimes the line moves and sometimes it doesn’t. Often there is only one person at the cash register and they are taking orders and preparing dunks and food. There is patio but it is very small. Starbucks needs more locations in the downtown area. That would be wonderful. Maybe add a presence in some of the hotels.

I was certainly a fish out of water in this town, and exhausted after spending so much time trying to find my beloved red bicycle. Was it really I’m the Alamo? I wasnt sure but I haf to pursue. I walked in not knowing if there was anything different in this locale, and all of the sudden the bartender started me with a «hi», and proceeded to ask me if I was interested in a «blond or dark roast». I felt more like I was in a parody of a parody rather than the rough and tough image I expected from this part of the south. So I conducted a test, and said loudly: «the stars at night are big and bright…», and the whole coffee shop followed up with a loud unison«DEEPINTHEHEARTOFTEXAS!!!» I got a strawberry frapp and tipped accordingly. Customer service with southern hospitality, and enough calories to keep me in pursuit of of that punk that stole my red bike. Now, where the hell is the alamo?

I like how close this Starbucks is to my hotel, we walked and sit less that 2 min. The girl that made my drink was really nice and gave us directions to some of the best places to eat while we were in town.

Was in town for a conference and this was the closest SBux to the hotel. Probably one of the dirtiest I have seen on a consistent basis. I get that it is in the heart of Downtown /River Walk, but the trash was overflowing in every receptacle on each visit and the counters and tables were filthy with trash from previous Customers. I also struggled with their refusal to brew anything other than Pike Place after noon and wouldnt do a pourover upon request. In a pinch when you need an espresso or something to go, it’s a typical SBux. But trying to work out of here or get variants of brewed coffee, not so much. The one plus is that the food was fresh and well stocked(yogurts, sandwiches, pastries)

It’s ok for a place. They were busy all the time, no matter what time of the day I came in. Quick suggestion: better walk from your hotel to get a cup of coffee rather than driving, because you will spend more time finding parking. Friendly service, as usual.

I was hesitant today because of the line that was forming but the barista that was working was rocking out the drinks. I have been to many Starbucks throughout the world and this girl is the fastest most efficient one I have ever seen!

Love the team at the intersection of Houston and St. Mary’s. Very friendly and playful with customers. Always fell welcome and never got a drink incorrect in the 1.5 years I’ve been going there. Thumbs up to the crew!

Nothing new or special about this Starbies. Nice and friendly staff, who got the long line of customers dwindled down pretty quickly.

The wife and I are on vacation and found this coffee shop. Just outside is the sounds of a city coming alive. The large window front gives a nice view of the streets and traffic. Pedestrians are coming and going very quickly as they purchase their first cup of the day. It’s very polite here as the air is filled with morning and thankful salutations.

Stopped here before a show at the Majestic to grab a warm drink and some caffeine since I had a long day. Good thing I could stay awake on my own, because after working for 6 years at Starbucks I know what a drink tastes like when you don’t put espresso shots in it. Which was to be expected, because the woman that ordered before me received two warm beverages that were, to her dismay, completely unsteamed cold milk. The man after me was complaining about something also. Maybe they were having a bad, busy night? It’s also possible the barista making drinks was new? Just taking a stab at some of the possible excuses for receiving subpar beverages from a customer service giant. Two stars just because if I’m by it, I’m probably going to stop — hopefully the experience is better next time! Rating system: 5 stars = I’ll drive across town specifically for this, and rave to all my friends about it! 4 stars = Would recommend visiting. 3 stars = Average, acceptable, positive. 2 stars = You might be able to drag me in. 1 star = I will not be returning.

Meh. This SBUX is nothing to brag about. There’s very limited seating. Not the best use of space, there’s what looks like a time out cubby in the rear of the store. It’s somewhat clean, and the service was fast and friendly. There are several bar stools that allow you to sit and watch traffic go by on Houston St. Since there’s little seating, it seems like it’s best served as a place if you just want to get your java to go. It’s not the best Starbucks out there. In my opinion, you should go across the street to the local place, Sip.

Pretty much like any other Starbucks. Gets busy fast! Great location to run in for a morning kickstart and quickly make an exit. I like using my Starbucks app to pay cuz you earn points, plus they can scan it right off my phone and you’re able to add on a tip too. The staff here is always friendly, and willing to help. I like that they know what they serve and are customers too, a couple of visits I was stuck between two options and they gave their opinion or advice on the options to help me decide and it was a good choice.

I am almost never happy at Starbucks these days, and this one was just so-so — here’s why: 1 — Had I Unilocaled the coffee spot/café literally across the street(btwn starbucks and hotel Valencia), I would have gone there and spent five minutes or less on a visit 2 — the line at 9am was 20+ people long(this is no exaggeration). Whenever I’m not making coffee at home and I’m out, I’m in a rush, so this popular location is too slow for my needs. 3 — No great parking for those of us trying to get to-go drinks and snacks 4 — Minimal bar seating inside(6 – 8 stools) and a few tables in a quaint outside courtyard

Pretty much by the time you have red this review another Starbucks would’ve opened up in some Target, strip mall or other inconvenient spot. Whether you love them or can do without them you must admit their influence in shaping the way we buy and drink coffee is immense. Be it by grande or venti~sized cup, we all have a soft spot for their coffee. At this particular spot it is more or less the same layout you might encounter at any of their other locations. No surprises. There are but a few seats available. The barista, who had the look of seeing a store both swamped and empty, was very helpful. I settled on their Caramel Flan Coffee, which on a cold winter’s night was a warm welcome. I also noticed that their availability of items was much like the ones you would find at a Target. Most of the customers I saw here were tourists or downtown dwellers. Its proximity to businesses such as hotels, bars, restaurants and the Majestic Theatre makes it all the more enticing. I’m sure depending on the time of day this place is either bumping with people, or you have a couple of friends lounging here. But my suspicion is that people mainly take their coffee to go at this location.
In all fairness some of the reviews that seem critical of this location don’t take into consideration that this one is downtown; an epicenter of traffic by car or people. Add to the fact that this place is really small. So small that only of a handful of patrons and employees can fit in here at any given time. As far as Starbuck’s are concerned this is an opportune spot to be. It is within walking distance to all the major points to and throughout downtown. The service is good and they even have a bike rack to accommodate the bicycle culture growing here too. In the future I would like to see this location open into a bigger space, to allow patrons more wiggle room to sit and chat. But then again a cup of coffee at 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening looks and tastes about the same before work or after a ZZ~TOP concert. I think…

This Starbucks is actually at a very great location downtown San Antonio. It’s right by the River Walk but not actually part of it. Why is this great? Because it is on the corner next to a multitude of restaurants and other places and has a great spot for people watching. There is no drive thru but the inside is very clean and the baristas are very friendly. I asked them where they usually park to work there and they said they either get dropped off or pay to park over there. Felt kinda bad for them, actually. I ordered my usual: Iced coffee with 2 pumps white mocha and cream… it was perfect! Definately the best one I have had since being in Texas. Inner fat kid says: Great place, perfectly made drink? Yes!
