Worst experience ever the outter appearance is very misleading. I understand why they sell alcohol so your to drunk to notice how terrible this place is. P.S i am only giving it 1 star because 0 is not an option.

Could be a lot better! Great concept, but when the people who work there are in no way willing to help patrons, then you have a really bad establishment. Drinks were watered down, staff was rude, not a whole lot going on here. One star for now.

very run down, empty on a Sunday 4pm and several games didn’t work. As soon as you walk in there is an old Gatorage jug labeled«water» for the patrons, like cattle to drink from. Also just filled with mostly middle age men. Won’t be coming back.

Meh. We’re on a journey for a football watching home and so far our best option has been Twin Peaks which is so sad for numerous reasons. The first reason is I love to support local businesses. Also, WHY do sports bars in Texas open at 3pm on Sunday?! I mean it makes zero sense to me. Slackers does not open until 3pm… on a Sunday… and it’s a sports bar. Crazy. Previous reviews said this place had food. They don’t. Well, apparently they do… but it only comes at a certain time. We missed the time — around 4:30pm. And by missed, I mean we left before it came. The bartender did tell my husband that BBQ was coming in an hour and it was free. They also have an old school vending machine with snacks, if you want to eat 5 bags of chips and a candy bar. Here’s a cool thing — there’s a whole lotta sh*t in there. I mean, you can get a vapshot. What the heck is that? I dunno but I like having the option if I should be seeking one out. They also have sake chilled in one of those Jäger cooler thingys. A sake bomb for any occasion outside of dinner at Benihana when you start making bad decisions seems a bit extravagant for a Sunday watching the Steelers. But I’m not one to judge. I did, on the other hand, try a Big Red slushie with rum. It was delish. And it came with a big fat straw so it was easy to drink and freeze my brain. I’m not a sweet drink drinker but I wasn’t convinced that this is a place one comes to for craft cocktails or mixed drinks with more than 2 ingredients. The chairs are horribly uncomfortable and don’t have backs. Come on, chairs in a bar need backs. It’s like a life rule for bars. We came because of the great reviews but I think we’re too old to appreciate the lack of food and comfort. If you’re looking to make bad decisions, this seems like a great place to start… or end.

Sooooooo… This place place is legit! If game night and arcades mixed with sports on every TV is your thing then this is the pace for you. Head upstairs and have a great convo with Natalia. She’s great company!

Terrific multi-level arcade/gaming bar. Decent drink prices, and plenty of fun games. They have all the usual bar games mixed in with classic arcade favorites: pool, darts, beer pong, old school video games, air hockey, soccer pool and basketball. There are also plenty of screens, including two large adjacent projection screens, distributed throughout the bar. The décor, consisting mostly of sports themed art created by a local artist, is also noteworthy. The staff is friendly and I really enjoy the overall atmosphere and vibe. A great spot to check out once in a while, or include in your regular rotation.

They really need to keep up with their game systems. I lost over $ 5 in the games and was refused money back. On top of that the contrast on all the screens are in poor condition.

This is 4 stars of once I was drinking, I had a fantastic time playing golden tee and arcade games upstairs and slamming drinks. Service was wonderful, both downstairs and upstairs. The star I lost was for while I was sober I couldn’t avoid that it really smelt like someone had recently thrown up near the jukebox, in the hallway and there were no trashcans. This was at 4 in the afternoon.

Great fun place. $ 3.25 you call it on Sunday. Other daily specials other days. Ms. Pac Man, pool, basketball, darts, beer pong, the Simpsons arcade game, mortal combat II, centipede, etc…

Cheap drinks. Wish the place was bigger though because we had to wait for others to finish before we could play a lot of the games. Service was good. Not too many places to sit downstairs. Upstairs is more quit and small with all arcade games.

Games! Games! Games! Love this video game bar. They offer a great selection of video games, air hockey, Golden Tee, pinball, pool, and other games. The beer selection is alright, and the prices are a little north of fair if you’re drinking the good stuff. But if you’re into Lone Star, this is a good place to go. They sometimes offer free BBQ if you come in at the right time. It’s generally somewhat clean in here, and it’s well lit. They have this upstairs area for more games, but it seems that nobody ever goes up there. There’s a bar up there, but I’ve never seen anyone behind it. They always show a wide variety of sports on the televisions, so if you’re looking for a place to catch that obscure college ball game, this is the place. There are TVs everywhere. The only real negative about this place is the ratio– there’s always waaay more dudes here than girls here. I guess girls aren’t into video games and sports. Their loss, huh? The bartenders are generally attentive, and service is moderately quick. I come back time and time again.

What a great sports bar! I have to say the ambiance here is quite awesome. This place of course is for anyone and everyone but it does have a great«MANCAVE» feel. It’s a awesome place to hangout with a group of friends and just chill. The best and unique part about this place is the fact that they have arcade games and a lot of other bar games. They know who their target crowd is and they are doing well. I know where to come now to have a awesome time all-around.

Here at Slackers the vibes flow. The drink selection is pretty impressive and I have got to mention all the activities and tvs provided are bound to keep you giddy and your friends entertained — from the classic bar games like pool, darts, and air hockey to the vintage and sports like arcade games you give yourself a reason to save up a jar of quarters for, this place doesn’t skip a beat. Slackers is a great place to take a group of friends to watch a sports game or even a date to earn some brownie points. I’ve also dabbled and had a blast playing their life-sized games… want to get schooled on some soccer-pool anyone? Pretty creative and original bar overall with the décor and lack of ever getting bored here. and definitely compliments to the upstairs all frozen slushie bar something I haven’t seen at any other bar in SA. I love that Slackers offers a nostalgic ambiance and is overall a good place to chill and just let the good times roll. Check mate.

I expected more from Slackers in the way of video games. They have a small selection of cabinet style games in an upstairs loft area. It gave me a sad to see so few available to play. The rest of the experience was dive bar fine. Drink specials were good and the assortment of frozen, tasty, sweet drinks was amazing. My friend got me hooked on a few. I likely have the dia-beetus now.

I had such high hopes for Slackers, it wasn’t the waitstaff or the beer selection that let me down. It was the games. Maybe there’s not a enough vintage arcade games to get a hold of, or maybe there’s not enough square footage to contain the awesomeness… We went on a Sunday… it wasn’t a very Funday. First of all, selected games were free. Not the golf game or the fun bowling game in the front area of the bar. The dart machines were possessed. The only option was 301/501, no Cricket. Some games weren’t calibrated correctly, mainly the gun games. The joysticks on Blitz kinda sucked, there was a lag in response with the buttons. I did like the ambiance and the décor, very clever tap handles. However, I came for the games. So hopefully they can find someone who can fix these relics back to tip top shape and bring in some different vintage games. Perhaps, the likings of Paperboy, X-Men Co-op, TMNT, something other than Area 51, Q-bert, just to name a few. It would be totally awesome if someone had Dragon’s Lair.

This is my favorite spot to watch games at or catch a late night drink. The Bartenders are nice and attentive, there is a wide selection of liquors and beers some even on draft. There is an Arcade upstairs with retro video games, The Golden Tee seems out of place but whatever! The Music on the Internet Juke Box can get annoying quickly reminding you how much of a Metal City San Antonio really is. But the good news is you can play what ever kind of music you like and if the big game is on you can hear the commentators. They don’t serve food so eat before you go, and you should be fine. Some nights there is a food truck.

I stopped by Slackers while working in SA for rush hour. So glad I did. Not being from San Antonio, I am always looking for cool places to hang out and try. I will definitely be back. Slackers is a Gamer/Sports/Dive bar for folks that just want to chill and have a good time. Tons of games like Giant Jenga, Shuffle board, Pool Tables, and Arcades(which this grown 30 something year old loved). Bar staff was really friendly and gave great service. They do not have that snooty factor, instead they are refreshingly normal down to earth people. Drinks were fairly prices and served well. Bar has tons of TVs to watch your favorite team. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to try out the grub, but I will report back on my next venture to Slackers. GETINTHEGAME!!!

Really diggin Slackers. Very laid back feeling and for any gamer geek(myself included of course) you can keep fairly busy playing arcade games on either level. The games are cheap and the drink specials are good too if you’re trying to keep a date night cheap or are on a budget. Wayne is usually housed outside serving up his tasty wings and awesome Philly Cheesesteaks. And yes the taps are converted game controllers. If you don’t know what controller is what beer, then they have a legend on the chalkboard against the wall(behind the bar). I was in awe. For those who prefer table games, Slackers even has air hockey, foosball, and get this: beer pong available! Lol

When I was cruisin’ down the street in my 64′(ok, it’s an ’11 but whatever), I passed this bar up and made an instant connection, «That’s the SEGA font, yo!» After some Unilocal,Twitter and Facebook searches came up with little details, I texted up some fellow geeks and set a happy hour date. The SEGA font was no accident, Slackers loves the gamers. Instead of the usual tap handles, they use old video game controllers with a sign above them explaining that the NES is Bud Light, PS is Blue Moon, etc. On the first floor alone you can find a pool table, air hockey, foosball, beer pong and Area 51 arcade game. Take a little trip upstairs and there’s the almighty Simpson’s game along with Megaman, Ms. Pacman and Blitz to name a few. Slackers is a great place to lose a few hours and a lot of quarters. With their wide variety of beers(and ciders), the option of ordering in Jimmy Johns(or stumbling down a few shops over for some Phở) and whispers of Wayne’s Wings showing up from time to time, it’s easily my new favorite bar.
