Ill start with the positives. The pros here are very good and the members are generally nice. The courts and property are clean and well maintained. You pay monthly fees of $ 55(plus tax) mainly for access to the courts and leagues. The downsides: There are NO amenities here at all.(No snack bar, pro shop, etc.). They have a few socials during the year, and charge a nominal fee. So, it’s pretty much a bare, bones basic kind of club. Another problem – The noise level is excessive. The Courts are located under a flight path so airplanes are buzzing overhead all the time. The three back courts are literally right next to the 1604 freeway, so the noise level(especially during rush hour) is ridiculous(bring earplugs).

I have been a member at Shavano Park Tennis Club since day one. There simply are not enough superlatives to describe this club, it’s members and it’s ownership. Shavano Park Tennis Club is the perfect blend of amazing tennis, awesome members and an atmosphere that exudes class and camaraderie. Michael and Soeurette Kelly have mastered the art of casual elegance and no detail is left unattended. In addition to creating the perfect tennis environment(unparalleled lights on the courts to boot), they are also community minded and support not only tennis in all it’s glorious forms, but go out of their way to leave a positive mark on our city by supporting many worthwhile organizations. This club has become my home away from home. Thank you, Michael and Soeurette for your amazing work and the beautiful facility you provide for us. I am immensely proud of my club and am honored to be a member of Shavano Park Tennis Club family.
