The board of directors is either absentee or just doesn’t care what goes on at the San Antonio Aids Foundation. The staff is extremely rude. I called to ask about recommendations for doctors in San Antonio that treat HIV. Just some names and numbers! I was told that I couldn’t be helped unless I came in and registered. Very uncaring. I live in the neighborhood that the SAAF house is in. Older but upcoming. The block that is home to the SAAF house is always littered with a lot of trash like the Styrofoam cups and containers that they allow clients to walk out with. They stand around, eat the food and then throw the containers on the ground. The fact that the clients leave trash all over the place like food containers, cigarettes, needles and drug paraphernalia, used surgical gloves, and even very expensive HIV medication, indicates that very little education is happening. The place is disgusting!

To start, this client alway updates there staff with knowledge and information. Just About the well being of straights, gay men and women. The risk of not wearing a condoms. Things to look out for and just counseling if needed! The staff is wonderful and a thumbs up to that. Because I’ve been other places to get check ups! And you’re already scared and nervous to be at the offices. Then you have deal with someone being rude! Here at the SAAF(San Antonio AIDS foundation) totally different! Smiles and a warm feeling when you walk in. Plus your HIV tests are free here. They test you in a office with you another staff member(very one on one). Then you talk a little and before you know it. You have your result. Pretty easy! Once thank you to the staff! Just awesome!
