Awesome service. Very professional and attentive. His name is Alex. Food was very good too. Lil too much salt on the grilled shrimp but the steaks were yummy and affordable. Who needs a top dollar restaurant when you have better servers and food like this. Oh and also the wedge salad was amazing.

Some of the food was pretty good. I had chicken and grilled shrimp. The shrimp was partially deviened. Of the 6 shimp 3 had the«dirty» veins hanging out of them and it didn’t look very appetizing so I only ate the first two(prior to noticing the ones with the veins). The chicken was ok. Had good flavor/seasoning but was dry. I also shared the crab cake appetizer with my wife. It was the best I’ve had in a very long time. Made the visit worthwhile. The service was extremely slow. We arrived at 3:15pm and we were seated within 20 minutes which was great. We ordered drinks and an appetizer that also came out very quick. It went downhill from there though. We waited an hour after getting our appetizer before we got the main course. The waitress did come by to check on us about 30 minutes into our wait and told us she would check on it but we watched others around us who arrived after us get their food and some were getting up to leave as our food finally came out. I wasn’t pleased at all by my visit. Definitely not worth what we paid for our food considering all things. I was disappointed because I’ve always heard so many great things about the restaurant.

My wife and I went on an afternoon. She ordered chicken fried steak with green beans and I ordered shrimp with mashed potatoes. When we received the order, we noticed the shrimp and the chicken fried steak had a lot of batter, the impression was to make them look bigger. When we began eating them, they were somewhat tasteless. The shrimp didn’t have much juice/flavor nor the steak and the potatoes and green beans seemed to be old, not fresh. This was one of the worst meals we ever had and spent approximately $ 30. Will never go back again and not recommend it to anyone. The waitress was niece and assisted us well. Understand why the restaurant next door had so much more business.

Let me first start out by saying this chain is my husband and I’s favorite for good steak! We have been to all of the Saltgrass’ in San Antonio and were are also very loyal Landry’s Select Club members. This location is terrible! We have found ourselves here a few times after shopping in the area and each time we’ve had a terrible experience. We would rather drive out of our way to hit the Bandera Saltgrass just for the service. Our food has come out cold, it takes forever to get a drink, and the food is subpar. In my opinion drive the extra distance and go to a good Saltgrass!

Again, dinner and movie night(we went to see«The Peanuts Movie» at Cielo), and decided once again on steak. I asked my wife what she wanted for dinner, and she promptly responded with«STEAK». I then asked her if she wanted me to grill, and she thought about it… then said, «No…» so we decided that since we were going to the movies anyway, to go back to our go-to, Saltgrass. Gotta have our grilled moo. Promptly seated and got menus. The server came, took drink orders. No apps, just steak. I had the monster Porterhouse, and wife wanted a good, rare t-bone. Both of us had salad, I had garlic mashed taters, wife went with fully-loaded tater. Steaks were cooked to our liking and all food was excellent. However, I am giving the service one less star because of a couple of issues that I noticed: 1) the server, while he was friendly and prompt, seemed a bit rushed and wanted us to eat as quickly as possible and get out, probably because our check was not as much as he had hoped, and 2) we were about 2⁄3 of the way through our salads when our mains were brought. Again, the rushed feeling. I like to get my food fast, but that was a bit *too* quick. No real worries. And I actually had to repeat wife’s drink order as she said«Coke, light ice» and he actually asked her right after she got that out of her mouth what she wanted to drink… go figure. I think that the server’s mind was elsewhere and not entirely on his job. But given that there were several other servers also checking on us, I’ll let him slide this time. Not too bad an evening, and it wouldn’t deter us from going back. But the Texas Roadhouse *is* next door… so, Saltgrass, pay attention.

Nothing that I would expect less from this place and that is why I just love coming here. After we were hungry due to our trip for a nice and tasty steak without wanting to make a far drive, we made a stop here for a delish din-din. The wait was about 30 minutes but we did not mind at all, after we waited we were served by this very sweet yet kinda flirtacious young man. The server had no shame to be flirt. He asked if we were Landry’s Select cardholders since I did not have it he was able to pull it up by my number and what did you know, I had $ 25 to bank on our dinner! I usually try something different at this chain but went with my fave classic, Surf n’ turf. Medium steak with BBQ shrimp, house salad and sweet potato fries with a large strawberry margarita and as for my friend, copied off me and got the same plate but with fried shrimp, salad, and baked potato. As we enjoyed our bread and sweet batter I was being brought my margarita by the bartender. Boy was I happy to see another handsome man with my huge drink on his hand! HAHAHA… After we enjoyed our delicious dinner and realized that we had no space for our dinner we asked for our bill and I will admit, this was probably the lowest bill I have EVER received for Saltgrass dinner even with an alcoholic beverage!(Yes the $ 25 really went a long way). But with that said I did make sure that we left a greater than 20% tip since the server and bartender were both very pleasant people providing outstanding customer service!

There were 8 of us in my part. When we sat down, I looked around, it wasn’t all that busy. Looking at the menu, I realized that it was one guilty pleasure after the next — Fried appetizers including shrimp, mushrooms, jalapenos, onion, fries, sweet potatoes. Main entrees with cuts of meat up to 20 oz. I found it Ironic that I couldn’t find any healthy options but there was a gluten free menu. One of my coworkers ordered a steak, when our order came, the waiter gave him fried chicken. He knew he had made a mistake, The waiter asked if he still wanted the steak which he did. Unfortunately, we were all pretty much done with lunch when his steak arrived. He asked to have it put in a to go box. I ordered the beef tenderloins, I like beef rare. When I ordered the beef tenderloins, I was not asked how I wanted them, these were borderline raw. One of my coworkers ordered the same dish and his looked even more underdone. I ate mine and thought it was good but my co-worker refused to eat his. The manager apologized and asked if he could bring another dish, we were running short on time so he declined. I wondered if the Chef didn’t show up that day and the dishwasher was promoted. The check came and they had taken off the steak but they had left the tenderloins on even though my coworker didn’t eat his.

Went out to celebrate the end of the teaching week. The Missus’ pay day! Got Eric as our server. Great kid. Excellent attention. Complimentary bread and butter, a nice dark brown loaf. Delicious. Wife ordered the chicken sandwich and added baked potato soup. Chicken sandwich comes with bacon, cheese, onion, etc. She doesn’t like pickles or honey mustard, she just likes it plain. Said it was very good. I got a «grand»? sangria. I think that’s the name. Peach schnapps, red Malbec, lime… Fantastic! Also took the baked potato soup, loved it. Got the classic combo with chicken, shrimp, and ½ rack ribs. It was great! Saved back half of the ribs and most of the chicken for the weekend. But the shrimp dipped in the melted garlic butter was wonderful, and the ribs are glazed with a great flavor and the meat literally falls off the bone. We shared a brownie crumble skillet cookie topped with ice cream and a caramel and chocolate drizzle. Oh. My. Goodness. The cookie base has oatmeal. It is to die for. This was my second check-in here. Both visits very satisfying. We live quite close, so I’m sure we’ll be back!

So, after a day of less than ideal, delayed, frustrating business travel… I found myself hungry, and in need of some frosty beverages. And after all the earlier rigamarole, I didn’t want to go far. That’s where this location of the Saltgrass comes in. One of the joys of solo business travel(in my somewhat limited experience) is dinner at the bar. Some places I have been seem to ensure you feel awkward dining alone at their bar… which is super great… not here though. Victoria was the bartender the evening I was there, and she did a fantastic job making sure my dining experience was a good one. She kept the tall frosty beers full, and made sure I could still catch the Blackhawks game while away from home. I had the ribeye — came out cooked perfectly medium rare and super flavorful. The steak was well seasoned, and nicely seared to perfection. Sweet potato fries on the side were also good. Pair that with a nice tall beer, and all was well. And, since I’d had a bit of a rough day and was feeling a little extra fat — I also had the brownie dessert that comes with something like a pint of ice cream masquerading as a «scoop» and sitting on a giant soft cookie playing the role of a crust(?). Yea, it was good. Good job by all on my visit, and good food too.

A group that I was with came here because the texas roadhouse next door was packed and we didn’t want to wait 2 hours to eat. They told us it would be about an hour wait but the hostess was super sweet and constantly let us know how the progress was going and seated us way faster. Our waitress was really great to. My group jokes around a lot and she was totally cool about it and even joked around with us. The food is pricy but really good. The only complaint I have is my boyfriend got the chicken fried steak(which he LOVED) but it had a wire from a cooking brush in the gravy. He pulled it out of his mouth when he took a bite of his food. We told our waitress and she took it to a manager and just came back and apologized. They could have offered his portion of the mean for free or something because that it gross. All in all though it was good.

Excellent service. Great hospitality from start to finish. Ordered the half rack bbq ribs and bbq shrimp enbrochette. The ribs were fall off the bone melt in your mouth with excellent flavor. Being a shrimp snob and wanting to try something new I was highly impressed with the shrimp and they were cooked perfectly now overdone! Definitely recommend this location.

I have to say for a chain restaurant, Saltgrass is one of the better of the Landry’s portfolio. I have eaten at several of them and they seem fairly consistent in their quality. They also offer a fairly extensive gluten-free menu for those that are interested. I started my meal with the Range Rattlers which are Jumbo Jalapeño Peppers stuffed with whole shrimp and jack cheese. OK, these are in my list of top 10 appetizers. Be careful though, they do pack quite a wallop on the spicy side. Not for the faint of heart. This comes as a group of 4 Rattlers, but you can order a smaller portion of just 2 if you like for less than half the price. It is a good deal. I had a house salad, and I always like Saltgrass house salad, it is always crisp and cold. My entrée’ is one I have regularly. It is the Hickory Chicken which is a boneless grilled chicken breast brushed with BBQ sauce and includes sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions and bacon topped with jack cheese. This is always juicy and cooked just right and the toppings really make the meal for what would otherwise just be a BBQ chicken breast. Wonderfully tender and tasty. A trip to Saltgrass would not be complete without a piece of Two Fork Cheesecake for dessert. You can also order this in a lunch size portion which I call the One Fork Cheesecake. It is usually very well set creamy cheesecake with a white chocolate sauce and fresh strawberries. It is usually to die for. This particular evening however the cheesecake was not well set and the white chocolate sauce was overly sweet. I can tell you however that this is the first time I have encountered a problem with this dessert. Might have been a bad night for dessert. Again, for a chain restaurant it has been consistently good and with the exception of the cheesecake, this night of dining was no different. This was the location at Cinema Ridge Road in San Antonio, Texas to be clear.
