Didn’t realize you could not sit and dine inside but I only give 3 stars because the barbacoa was greasy and bland. The corn tortillas were fresh. The tamales were little and hardly any masa on them. Flour tortillas were hard like they were old. Pico de gallo was mild no juice. Not impressed. Will not return. :(

Loved the food! The barbacoa was delicious and so were there tamales. We have had a hard time finding good tamales since we move up here from south Texas. It is the closest I’ve found to real Mexican food. We only tried a couple tamales as a test run as they also sold them individually for a dollar. Due to having a horrible tamale experience in Austin, TX we decide to make sure they were good before purchasing a dozen. The only tip would be for the staff to be more confident in there food. They have wonderful food so you should boast about it and be proud. They seemed a little modest when selling there product. Maybe they are just being cautious as everyone has different tastes. Regardless staff was friendly and we will definitely be repeat customers.

Delicious barbacoa. No wait time when we went on a Saturday and the staff was extremely nice and helpful.

The Barbacoa is awesome! The lady at the front counter was super nice, and provided all the extras with my 1lb of coa. The tortillas rank at around a 6 on my scale, but then I am kinda a tortilla snob. Once I got home and cooked them for a couple minutes on the comal, they were much better. But tortillas aside, everything else was superb. The all meat coa was as described, all meat, with just the right amount of fatty goodness, I lean toward the not lean ;0). The pico de gallo wasn’t too hot, with ample jalapenos, unions, tomatoe, and cilantro. Plenty of parking on the side, so you can get in and out easily. I rolled in around 7AM on Saturday, and there were only a couple of people in line.

I love Rio’s Barbacoa! The ONLY complaint I have, is they need to make more of the carnitas! If you are open until 2 you should have enough product to last at LEAST until noon! Running out by 9AM is irratating!
